She has previously represented Nigeria in the 2014 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup and in the 2014 FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup, where she netted three goals in tournament play. Southeastern Fire Withstand Warriors to Advance to NAIA Semifinal Match VSN ( admin ) Published Wednesday, November 28, 2018 - 09:38 PM ORANGE BEACH, Ala. – For the first time in program history, the Southeastern University women's soccer team is heading to the NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Semifinals. The sixth-seeded Fire are now one of four remaining teams in the field after taking down the Midland University Warriors 3-1 in their quarterfinal match. The win set a new single-season program record for wins at 20. A familiar name netted all three Southeastern goals, as junior forward Uchenna Kanu posted her 11th hat trick of the season to push her NAIA-record setting season goals total to 57. Kanu now has seven goals in three NAIA postseason matches. It was a grinding first 45 minutes of play for the Fire, as both teams were held scoreless throughout the first half. Southeastern was able to create more chances in the first half, outshooting Midland 13-6, including 7-2 on goal. However, the Warriors' back line did not bend. With 45 minutes until the end of one team's season, the Fire came out of the locker room dialed in. "I told the girls at the half, you have 45 minutes for either our season to end or to persevere. And credit to them, they responded amazingly and played for each other and ultimately, the glory of God," shared head coach Randy Belli . Within the first minute of the second half, the Fire took a 2-0 lead thanks to the foot of Kanu. The Abia Nigeria native made a pair of sliding finishes off passes from Yulie Lopez and Aisha Solorzano30 and 56 seconds in. A through ball from senior defender Sierra Clayton slotted in by Kanu in the 77th minute gave the Fire a 3-0 lead. The Warriors got on the board in the 82nd minute, snapping a scoreless streak of 371 minutes SEU held against opponents. The Fire now face a familiar foe in second-

The duo of Ayinde, Chikwelu really believe in Okobi's abilities with the ball ahead of them as the attacking midfielder.. Dennerby shouldn't make the mistake of substituting Okobi for Ajibade again... when he did it against Cameroon the midfield collapsed totally because Ajibade wasn't able to replicate what Okobi was doing... even though Okobi was performing badly against the Physical Cameroonian she still find her way of getting past her marker with her skills and vision. she just needs to add strength to her game. |
Danielnino00:They are all quality players...All they need is Adequate preparations and regular training so that they can blend together, knowing their weaknesses and how to correct them |
naijaseeker:Tony Payne is currently playing for Sevilla Women Football Club in Spain ... As for Chioma Ubogagu, I don't think she would Leave England who have already given her a chance to play at the senior level. |
And I want to comment on this issue that just was asked about our team being an aging one. So far as I am concerned this not the Under-17, Under-20 or under-23. It's the senior national team and does not have any age requirements. If the player is as old as 40 and the coaches feel she is the best person to play ahead of the 18 year old, it shouldn't be a problem, as long as she can deliver. So if anyone wants to see younger girls play then my advice is for them to go watch our junior teams. |
jieta:Perpetua Nkwocha |
naijaseeker:Onome Ebi @35 really did well in containing that Zambian top9 with her experience and Aeriel abilities .. I couldn't believe it because that girl is so strong and fast. |
Eskilstuana United DFF of Sweden have signed Nigerian Superfalcons Midfielder Halimatu Ibrahim Ayinde. |
PDPGuy:Josephine Chukwunonye is a natural Center Back but can also play as a makeshift right back.. coach Thomas Dennerby will never think of benching Faith Ikidi except that injury she sustained on her forehead. |
Super Falcons Player Ratings: Ordega The Brightest; Ajibade Promising; Oparanozie Torments; Oshoala Selfish; Ebi Solid; Okobi Sparkles Published: November 21, 2018 Defending champions Nigeria got their Africa Women's Cup of Nations (AWCON) campaign back on track with a 4-0 thumping of Zambia in Cape Coast on Wednesday evening. Allnigeriasoccer.com has a lowdown on how the Super Falcons fared in the Group B game. The Starters Tochukwu Oluehi: The Rivers Angels goalie didn't have much to do. When she was called upon, the former Medkila star proved herself. 6/10 Faith Michael: Faith Michael showed some degree of composure when attacking. She also defended very well before injury forced her off at half time. 6/10 Ebere Ngozi: The Barcelona defender was solid as usual at the left back position when attacking and proved strong when defending. Her timing runs on the flanks proved to be Nigeria's weapon on the day. 7/10 Onome Ebi: The ex-Minsk star was rock-solid at the heart of defence. She dealt well with the threat of Grace Chanda. 7/10 Osinachi Ohale: Ohale complimented the efforts of Ebi at the heart of defence with assured display. She took the simple options in the game hence was largely untroubled. 6.5/10 Halimatu Ayinde: The Asarum enforcer was Nigeria's silent cleaner in the middle of the park with her tenacious display. She covered more grounds than any other Nigerian on the day. 7/10 Rita Chikwelu: It was another commanding display from the Kristiansand player who bossed the midfield with her strength and skills. 6/10 Francisca Ordega: She was deservedly voted player of the match. The Washington Spirit forward was once again Nigeria's most enterprising player as she the took initiative without fear and she created the team's opening goal. Her dribbling skills made her a stand out performer for the side, not to talk of her sweet pass to Desire Oparanozie to score the first goal. Her goal was world class, a smart touch from Oparanozie's pass before firing the ball to the top corner. 8.5/10 Ngozi Sonia Okobi: She displayed great skills and mobility at the middle. Her inclusion was complimented with a great show. 7/10 Desire Oparanozie: After some many hit and miss performances in the opening game, Oparanozie finally opened her account in the tourney by hitting one goal against Zambia. She also provided an assist in the game. 8/10 Asisat Oshoala: The former Arsenal and Liverpool forward was full of running in the game. She was anxious to score and missed three easy chances in the game instead of passing to better positioned teammates. The FC Robo Queens product was a positive influence for the eight-time African champions with an assist that resulted in Rasheedat Ajibade's goal. She was also involved in Ordega's strike. 6.5/10 The Substitutes Josephine Chukwunonye: The hard tackling defender was deployed as a makeshift right back and passed with flying colours as she used her marauding runs to create problems for the opponents. 7/10 Rasheedat Ajibade: The FC Robo Queens goal poacher needed just six minutes to announce her presence on the pitch. The manner in which she took her goal was a delight to watch. 7.5/10 Amarachi Okoronkwo: The Nasarawa Amazons midfielder clearly showed that she is a real midfielder with the way she struck the team's fourth goal from 21 yards. 7.5/10 Abayomi Ademetan.

My Line up against the Zambian Ladies. Tochi Oluehi ..... GK Faith Ikidi ....RB Osinachi Ohale....CB Onome Ebi ......CB Ngozi Ebere..... LB Rita Chikwelu... DM Halimatu Ayinde... CM Ngozi Okobi..... AM Asisat Oshoala.... RF Desire Oparanozie.... CF Francisca Ihezuo... LF 3 Substitutes Rasheedat Ajibade...... for Ngozi Okobi Chinaza Uchendu.... for Francisca Ordega Chinwendu Ihezuo for Oparanozie Desire OR Amarachi Okoronkwo for Rita Chikwelu. |
To be sincere Rita Chikwelu is one of the best midfielder in the Swedish Women Football League but I still wonder why she doesn't play for the superfalcons the way she plays for her Clubside ....I Watch some of her club games on Damallskenskan TV she is a classic midfielder but I wonder why she doesn't replicate such standard while playing for the falcons. |
Okobi is Light weight yes!!! But her excellent way of getting past her marker is equal to None... Okobi have to start she is our Best midfielder Okobi primarily plays as an attacking midfielder, but can also be deployed in central midfield as a deep-lying midfielder, or as a winger. Two of Okobi's most common exemplary traits are her vision and passing, which have been described as "one-of-a-kind" and "sublime", respectively. She is also known for her distinct understanding of the game, which has led to her developing "a great football IQ". In addition to her creativity, eye for goal, and tactical awareness, she is known for outstanding control and dribbling ability, as well as her elegance on the ball. Her technical skill and ability to read the game allow her to determine "when to take a defender on one-on-one, how to find a teammate with a slide-rule pass, and how to exploit tight spaces to create scoring chances for herself and her cohorts".For these reasons, her playing style has drawn comparisons with Iniesta of Spain. |
The goalkeeping was okay but I haven't seen a goalkeeper as confident as Alaba Jonathan... Alaba is a fearless goalkeeper, she nor da shake at all.... Even with her average height she still make up for it with her experience and vision.... #Bring Alaba back to the team after the AWCON. The coach can retain the defenders against the Zambian.. But the midfield should be a 3 Women midfield.. revert Rita Chikwelu to the Defensive midfield position she played at the 2016 edition.... Halimatu Ayinde is strong and energetic should be our center midfielder..... Then Okobi should play her usual role.... At least with this the defence won't be much troubled with a DM in front of them cleaning up the mess from the midfield.. Ajibade can come in for Okobi later when she is tired and after overworking her self... Ordega,,, Oshoala,,, oparanozie can attack well now since okobi will be there to feed them with her excellent and defence splitting passes... |
Faith Ikidi really forgot that the Strikers in the team are not her old teammates eg... Perpetual Nkwocha, Cynthia Uwak, ifeanyi Chiejiene, Stella Mbachu who were used to her rapport style of playing the ball... she have to get the ball down and play with her experience... |

The 35-year-old has been handed the arm-band for Africa Women's Cup of Nations and she's eager to inspire the team to success Nigeria women captain Onome Ebi says she cannot wait to lead the team to title success at this year's Africa Women's Cup of Nations, which starts on November 17 in Ghana. The 35-year-old will be making her sixth appearance at the 11th edition of the competition after previous outings in 2008, 2010, 2012, 2014 and 2016. Despite missing team's 3-2 loss to Dominion Hotspur, she featured in the 3-1 defeat to Asec Mimosas U16 and Monday's 4-0 win over Eleven Sisters of Gognan at the Sol Beni Stadium, Abidjan. Editors' Picks Having been handed the captainship role, the defender, who plays for Henan in the Chinese topflight, is excited about the challenges ahead but admits it will not be an easy route for her side. "I am really excited coming back to join my teammates in the Super Falcons," Ebi told Goal. "It's being a while like since we played the qualifier against Gambia in June. Though it is somehow late, we will use the limited time we have to blend together. "First, I want to thank God for keeping me in the team to witness this year's edition. I will be leading the team and really can't wait to get started, though we've started already. "But I can't wait to get into the competition proper because the spirit and zeal to win again is very high, playing against tougher teams. "Then, everyone we are everything and expects Nigeria can go and beat any team up to 5-0 but now it is no like that again because every team has woken up in women's football." While expecting a tough competition in Ghana, the former Bayelsa Queens star is confident her side will retain the title and qualify for the World Cup next year in France. "Most of the countries have players who have tested and are playing professional football outside Africa. I believe we are up to the task," she continued. "I know, trust and believe in my girls when it comes to competition like this, no matter the situation, we always go all out and do not care about the nature of our opponents. "We will definitely do what we know how to do best which is bringing the trophy back to Nigeria again and as well be among the teams to represent Africa at the World Cup in France." Onome Ebi: I can't wait to lead Nigeria to glory.
