UCHENNA KANU LEAVES LFC! November 6, Written by Linköping FC The attacking player and Nigerian national team player Uchenna Kanu has been a great asset and important goal scorer for Linköping FC during the season. Now she has decided on a new adventure. Kanu thus played his last match in the LFC jersey today, for this stay. Uchenna Kanu, born in 1997, came to Linköping FC 2020. She has been a great asset to us these seasons and has been responsible for most of our goals - most recently a hat trick away against Hammarby. Now she has decided to leave Linköping and Sweden for a team abroad. -Uche is a spectacular player who has made a big impression in OBOS Damallsvenskan and especially in the goal record where she belonged to the top tier of goal scorers since she came to us in LFC. Uche is a wonderful person off the field who is always happy and offers herself so she will be greatly missed both on and off the field , says Club Director Frida Andersson Uchenna has been one of the series' sharpest strikers and she has been at the top of the shooting league all season. - I want to thank Linköping FC who gave me the opportunity to come to a good club and environment for me and where coaches and players helped me to develop with both my game and strengthened my faith in myself. I have enjoyed the club very much and will miss many things, but above all I will miss teaching my teammates to say a few words in my language "Igbo", the closing parties with the team and last but not least "Loben", says Uchenna Kanu. - Of course we would have liked to see Uche continue in the LFC but now she chooses to go to a new country with new challenges. That Uche leaves means that we need to supplement the squad with players who can help us climb higher up the table next season, says Frida Andersson. During her time in the LFC, Uchenna has become a big favorite with all LFC supporters. - Thanks to all the fans, especially to the Lion Flock for all the support. Wish the club good luck in the future, concludes Uchenna Kanu. We thank Uche for her many, great efforts in LFC and wish her luck in the future!

New Waldrum’s Assistants Recommend Overhauling Of Super Falcons The two coaches appointed Tuesday by the Nigeria Football Federation to assist Super Falcons Head coach, Randy Waldrum, are of the view that the team need to be overhauled for improved performance, The coaches, Justine Madugu and Edwin Okon, told Completesports.com in separate chats Tuesday soon after their meeting with the President of NFF, Amaju Piñnick and other chieftains of the federation, that their assignment include scouting and training young, quality players, home and abroad, for the Super Falcons Okon, a former coach of Super Falcons who is now the Chief Scout, is saddled with the responsibility of scouting for players from the domestic league and the leagues abroad. He insists that the team must be overhauled for Nigeria to maintain her dominance of the women’s football in the continent “I am optimistic that the Super Falcons will still dominate women’s football in Africa for long if we overhaul the current squad with the introduction of young and very good players in and outside Nigeria. We need to beef up the team to maintain our position as the best team in Africa,” Okon who is the coach of Nigeria Women’s Football League champions, Rivers Angels, stated We have to go to work immediately to help fish out players who take over from the ageing and out of form players in the Super Falcons. We cannot afford to miss qualifying for the World Cup in 2023, so we would recommend the players that will help the coach in moving forward.” On his part, Justine Madugu is now the First Assistant Coach, agreed that the Super Falcons needs strengthening up with the gradual injection of younger and hungrier players, adding that the team still has the quality to conquer Africa again “The process of rebuilding a team has to be a gradual process. We cannot just throw away the ageing players, we need some of them around to help the young one develop. We shall allow them to compete with the older players for places in the team. We have to ease them off gradually,” Madugu stated. He added: “We know these players and we know their capacity and mentality and we know our strength. It is those strengths that we work on so that we can get the best out of the players. “When European coaches arrive Africa, it always takes them a while to settle down and understand the players and the time is not there. That is why they need coaches who know these players to guide them,” Madugu stressed. By Richard Jideaka, Abuja

Coach Okon as Scout especially for the Home Based Player's isn't a bad idea too. My question remains why has Mercy Akide Udoh hasn't been given a chance?? Wemimo power strong Sha... AWCON 2022 Race: NFF appoints Madugu, Okon to Super Falcons’ technical crew The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Tuesday absorbed Coaches Justin Madugu and Edwin Okon into the technical crew of the Senior Women National Team, Super Falcons, in line with a recent resolve to rejig the team’s technical group. This was confirmed in a press release by the NFF Communications Department. In a brief meeting presided over by President of the NFF, Mr Amaju Melvin Pinnick at the Federation’s headquarters in Abuja, Madugu was designated the new 1st Assistant Coach of the Super Falcons while Edwin Okon, Chief Coach of Rivers Angels FC, will be Chief Scout for the squad. Head Coach Randy Waldrum keeps his position. Coach Ann Chiejine will be 2nd Assistant Coach while Wemimo Matthew moves to the U20 team, Falconets. “I want to see a Super Falcons’ squad that is feared by the opposition not only in Africa but all over the world. I trust that you two (Madugu and Okon) will bring some positive difference to our golden Super Falcons. I don’t want to see our Falcons struggling against teams in Africa when we should actually be going toe-to-toe with the best teams in the world. “From now, we will scout for more players at home and abroad, particularly at home, and we will start organizing camps for the Super Falcons on the home front even before the overseas-based players arrive. We must make the effort and the investment to have a stronger squad that will continue to do Nigeria proud.” Also present were NFF General Secretary, Dr Mohammed Sanusi; Technical Director, Mr Austin Eguavoen; Director of Communications, Mr Ademola Olajire; Ag. Director of Competitions, Ms Ruth David and; Head of International, Mr Dayo Enebi Achor. Following a 2-0 defeat of the Black Queens of Ghana in the first leg of the second round of the Women AFCON qualifiers, the Falcons lost 0-1 to the Queens in Accra to scrape through to the final round on 2-1 aggregate. Victory meant the Falcons will take on the Lady Elephants of Cote d’Ivoire in the final round. The Elephants, who eliminated the Falcons from the race to the Tokyo Olympics on the away goal rule, blitzed past their counterparts from Niger Republic 20-0 on aggregate. Nigeria will host the first leg in the second week of February 2022, with the return leg in Abidjan a week later. In a related development, the President of NFF, Mr Pinnick has approved the opening of the Falconets’ camp as from this weekend for their second round fixture against their counterparts from Congo in December. This is in connection with the African qualifying race for the 2022 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup slated for Costa Rica. The Congolese will host the first leg on 5th December, with the return leg in Lagos on 16th December.

Having a Technical bench of Florence Omagbemi, Mercy Akide Udoh, Perpetual Nkwocha or Ayisat Aramriore Yusuf would yield us good team...

carbonado:I da tell you, they were Springing at least 6 passes together and with much pace, they had confidence on the ball, once they lose the ball they get it back as soon as possible.. Asin Florence Omagbemi would have done a great job with the team if she had stayed longer and she would have also developed more as a World Class Coach herself.. |
Against Cameroon during the final the Lionesses didn't give the Superfalcons the chance to play their games but we had our way over them... We were Passing well then, Better Defending. Asin 2016 was the Last time Superfalcons had a team.. |
If NFF had left Florence Omagbemi to continue with the team, I believe the Superfalcons would have been a better team by now.. |
This was the game video against South Africa then, though not very clear but enjoyable.. The Counter then was Super fast... Asin Pacy Football. At least they had a pattern of play unlike now.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8qA3vJpo2QU |

Coach Clémentine Touré "We need friendly matches" Coach Clémentine Touré, a few minutes from the end of the recital against Niger, is already looking ahead to the second round match against Nigeria. Knowing the qualities of the Nigerian team, which has in its ranks many internationals including the current African Golden Ball Asisat Oshoala, C. Touré wants to tackle this second round scheduled for February 2022 in the best conditions. friendly matches will allow him to sharpen his weapons to achieve a good result against Nigeria. With this beautiful performance from our Elephants, his call will surely be heard.
