When will you be finishing your NYSC?
For God's sake, you shouldn't have put NYSC. Just ur ppa's name (Perharps a school or whatever) as ur employment place.
I hope u know if you leave before finishing NYSC, you have to do some underground runs for someone to complete it on ur behalf.
That compulsory NYSC info is absolutely not necessary.
However, I totally doubt that it was the reason for your refusal.
They have about five major reasons for denial :funds, purpose of visit, travel history, home tie (indicating ability to come back after validity expires) and study gap +career progression. employment Is not particularly a deal breaker.

Dear XXXX XXXX
RE: validity of your biometric information
Thank you for providing your biometric information (i.e. digital fingerprints and photograph) in
support of your temporary resident application to Canada. The purpose of this letter is to notify
you that your biometric information is valid until (2029/03/21) for subsequent
temporary resident applications to Canada.
What you need to know for subsequent temporary resident (TR) applications:
• Please keep this letter for future reference. Your biometric information must be valid for the
duration of your temporary stay in Canada.
• You will not be required to provide your biometric information again in support of any
subsequent temporary resident applications you make within the validity date indicated
above.
• However, if you wish to extend the validity of your permit or visa beyond the validity date
indicated above you can provide your biometric information again and pay the associated
fee for another ten-year validity.
• Please note that you will be required to provide your biometric information in support of any
permanent resident application, even if you apply within the validity date indicated above.
• In addition to this letter, you can check the validity date of your biometric information using:
• your MyAccount at
• the Biometrics Validity Tool that is available on Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship.
That's the email i got from them.

Hi
When did u get it. I got the same last week. I also know someone else that got the same last week. I've done medicals and have been passed tho. U might get medical request soon I guess.
I don't think it really matters anymore. Before, it used to signify final decision update. But now, I just don't know anymore. I'll suggest u take your mind off them and just focus on ur prayers.
Well other gurus can shed light on this for u....
I wish u well.

Good day all, I am directing this message to all trv hopefuls who applied for student Visa from January to February that haven't gotten a response from cic should start sending mail using the webform to communicate with cic to inquire about the status of their application as the current processing time is peg at 9 weeks , which I beleive would have exceeded the current processing time
And according to cic you are permitted to send a mail to them when it has exceeded the normal processing time
One love
Keep the positive spirit going
It shall end it praise
Hi,
Did you also get that biometric validity correspondence mail?

I am really sorry to hear about passports being held up for weeks even months. After going through the pain of getting an application right and the excitement of getting a passport request. The emotional distress waiting for your passport is extremely difficult.

This is more than sending webforms or even visiting VFs centers. I think concerned parties most especially the ones that have been waiting for months should try and go to the Canadian embassy in Victoria island and make extensive enquiries on their passports.

This is just my personal thought and opinion. Most especially for people that have purchased tickets and about to miss pre semester orientations.

I think you are wrong. I just got a PhD admission with letter of admission to present to the visa officer that has conditions for me to present my original transcripts and certificate by dec. 2019.

Yes it was that for me too though the letter says the transcripts have to be sent before enrolment. I think that's supposed to be conditional enrolment. I called the graduate school and was told the offer of admission is unconditional. Many of us confuse conditional enrolment with acceptance.

I understand the appalling situation and I believe people like you and others on this forum will one day contribute to repair our tarnished image/reputation. I spoke extensively with a student from india and he mentioned what he submitted. Letter of acceptance, GIC certificate and study loan approval from the government and he got the canada study visa in 3weeks. There was no property document, letter of sponsor etc and he got it. Now look at what the average Nigerian submit to get a trv. It is ridiculous some get so tensed they submit fake documents just to make a case.

.
Imagine look at that.
Sometimes I come online, look at all this and just go back to sleep.
Imagine wanting to do a PhD in your country so that you can be close to your own people but not one single scholarship/ funding to sponsor your study.
When a person pays his way through from baby class to Master's level and you still expect me to pay huge fees to do a Ph.D. (the job is not even guaranteed after studying o)when I can get it free and be paid elsewhere.
There is a massive brain drain going on. Massive! The intellectual youths are leaving en-masse except for a few.
So many issues....Lemme just stop here and go and sleep cos if someone thinks about this country ehn.....

I submitted an application January 3rd I didn't get any response after my medical in February. But since it hasn't elapsed the processing time I kept hoping. There's just so much arrogance about your statement. But then nothing you do can fully please people. You tell them the truth and the make reference to something.

All I said was for the applicant to be patient(less than 30days application) and you come about saying this. To every individual offering something to this forum what you said is insulting and a slap to their face

Brother,
That application is more than 30 days.
This whole back and forth is not even my issue.
The irritating part of all this to me is the way we are treated in Nigeria. The fact that we have one of the longest processing time of all countries.
There is no dignity in the way we are being treated by the cic. The fact that people's passports can be held down for 8 months is appalling( I heard someone mention that his application took 8 months).
And no one should say we have a huge applicant turnout. Indians migrate much more to Canada than we are doing at the moment yet their processing time is nothing to be compared with ours. It's just something that has to do with applying from Nigeria. This is not even a permanent immigration application. For God's sake is just a study permit!
This is something we should be worried about as a country - the tarnished global image we have. But no- our leaders are busy taking unreasonable foreign trips up and down while our youths are neck deep in internet scams.
I have applied for a schengen visa before and it took just 3 weeks.
It should not be like this. It's very saddening . It's not something to even talk about.....

Greetings to all. I am very excited to be here. Been following this thread silently hoping to see if there are related cases that have addressed my concerns in previous posts. Many thanks to all who have consistently provided useful guidance here. Please I would appreciate your expert opinions in my case. I secured a research scholarship worth 21500cad annually for a 4-year PhD program at McMaster University. I am aware that this amount may not suffice and would need to more funds so I intend using my parents who have in the past sponsored my Masters in the UK. My father is a retiree and my mother is a stay-at home wife. They have several landed properties and can give me SOA worth 11+m. I have five siblings and 2 are gainfully employed. One is on NYSC and the other is job hunting. I am married with a 1+ year old. My work experience and previous qualifications are related to my intended PhD course. However, I took a maternity break and have not worked actively in the past 1+ year. So, I have not been gainfully employed. But I have been engaged in some volunteer productive activities like writing academic papers. I intend applying for my study permit by the end of this month as my program starts in Sept 2019. Please I would appreciate any helpful guidance on how to strengthen my chances of getting a visa. Thank you all in advance @frankrobbn @austacus @chibertha @justmellow @qudkom and all the experts in the house.

Congratulations darling. I love seeing more African women phds.
Check your tuition against your funding. Do you have an excess of 10,000 + after tuition deduction? If so, just get your mum or dad to attach their account statement or source of fund as a supplement. Let the person (the parent ) write a letter of support not sponsorship that he/she is aware of your funding from school and wants to support you for travelling expenses and miscellaneous costs.

Make sure in your imm 1294e form, You stress in the funding/ sponsor part it's ' University full Ph.D funding. Let them know it's your source of fund. You'll have no problem. I wish you the best!
