worry359: In RED is wrong information!!!!!!!!!!!!! If the account never FALLS below the required amount you are ok counting the 28 days. You DO NOT need to freeze your account you can use it as long as the total never falls below the required sum. Very correct. |

Ugosample: In Nigeria here? Good. How do i register for it, and what is the structure. Lastly, how many stages are there to complete it? You take the lectures here and write the Exam in Ghana. 3 stages and it takes 3-4yrs to complete you are to register at their website. |

Career › Re: Economists' Forum: (Students & Professionals) by scoobs: 6:54pm On Aug 23, 2015 |
Ugosample: But is a PhD really worth it? The stress and everything. Are you doing your PhD? . Am diverting into finance..there is this fear of being a lecturer..which is I don't really fancy. I would rather do a CFA to Phd. A Phd would be worth it if you love lecturing. As they do say with a PhD you can never be jobless...A PhD would be worth it if you do it in the USA, they do give Full Scholarships and pay yearly stipends they treat it as a Job over there some of their Universities retain their Phd grads as lecturers ....A PhD can get you into the World Bank, AfDB IMF and Co as a researcher..and I mean they pay in Dollars..that enough is a motivation. In Nigeria most Phd's end up being lecturers Dr Nwagwugwu and Dr Ishola did per time lectures @ a Private uni earning about 200k+ their Unilag salary..If you are good in independent research you can give it a shot..would definitely be worth it at the end. |

Career › Re: Economists' Forum: (Students & Professionals) by scoobs: 6:26pm On Aug 23, 2015 |
Ugosample: Yep. Why do you ask? Ah you should know Dr Ishola and Dr Isaac Nwaogugu great guys...they constantly told us we should get Phd's in Economics before age 30.... |

Career › Re: Please ADVICE: 2.2 And Masters Abroad by scoobs: 5:21pm On Aug 23, 2015 |
LOL Advice.. B4 you go abroad check the Travel section..the USA Canda and UK threads..listen if you plan to go abroad for masters to return immediately to Nig UK is the best for you..even in cost and duration. If you plan to stay back dnt try the Uk. With a second classs lower + a good GRE score you would get into a TierB US school and could be offered part scholarship. For canada even a graduate with a second class upper might not be be admitted for a masters Degree they consider so many other things then again the difficulty is in getting the Visa. Germany is also good too and they are way cheaper compared to other countries..you only have to consider your living expenses. Personally USA and Germany would be preferred. Don't even ignore the nairaland travel section.. Start from the UK thread. |

ayooluwatoni: Why do you wanna complicate issues for yourself? It's one thing to get admission it's another to get visa. Pls just go for masters.....you can try masters in Economics. If your cgpa is above 3.0, then try applying for Economics. Just apply to at least two schools.....and u should be fine. Why go to diploma in social work, when u just got a bsc in Accounting. ......u'll really put the VO in a terrible position to ascertain your purpose of visit, which is most likely possible to come out with a refusal on the grounds of purpose of visit....and most times, purpose of visit comes with personal assets, travel history (for persons holding virgin passport) and other confusing reasons. only 3.5 would get that not 3.0 |

Travel › Re: 15 Reasons To Use A Travel Agent by scoobs: 12:58pm On Aug 20, 2015 |
worry359: So called THIEF travel agent in Nigeria is a different animal to those from the rest of the world. Many Nigerian so called agents just charge fees to do something that can be done yourself for free. The add lies and fake documents to peoples applications supposedly to boost their chances, but the lies bounce back and people end up being banned. Many also take fees and deliver nothing. We saw one evil THIEF agent recently that wanted to get someones visa cancelled because of a falling out.
Think very hard before placing your future and funds in the hands of any THIEF agent. Especially those stealing free advertising here with only yahoo address and mobile phone numbers. |

Linzo: SO do you suggest Economics for me and them ICAN or ACCA? Yes perfect Economics isn't hard..an Employer would be bored with your CV if you have Bsc Accounting plus ICAN/ACCA, that would mean all you know is accounting. Unlike you having Econs + ACCA. Ur choice. |

Pls combine both a chemistry graduate can easily become an accountant..Bsc Economics+ICAN/ACCA would be preferred for a managerial role...unlike you doing all accounting no diversity...my ACCA lecturer studied medical physiology and he is still an accountant. I studied economics too Being knowledgeable in Economics and Accounting is surely an asset. |
