Education / Re: Medicine And Surgery At 24 by Scope26(m): 10:34am On Jan 29, 2023
sotherefore:
I'm writing jamb this year seeking to study medicine and surgery , currently I'm 23 but by then I might be 24.
So many people have spent over nine years in medical school due to strike. Am I too late ?
I'm a student of University of Ibadan; currently a fresher. My roommate is a fresher as well studying medicine and surgery and he will be clocking 27 this year.

I guess you're subjecting yourself to voices around you trying to tear you down. I've met people who were already working after graduating from a course who still went back to school to study medicine despite their old age.

If you don't tell anyone, they can only keep guessing.

It's not a crime to respond (almost) immediately. Hian. Some of these things ain't stone-casted!

A new store doesn't make the store a scammer. No reviews doesn't make it one either.

Online shoppings generally are with risks but with AliExpress, ones money is highly guaranteed to be safe.
Quote me please. I said "doubt" and not "don't patronise". Besides, he's a new customer on AliExpress and why shouldn't he go to an extreme extent to get his first order delivered?

Do you feel comfortable buying from a store without any followers and ratings?

I only gave him those tips since he's a new customer there. With time, he'll soon learn how to buy things safer.

P.S: That AliExpress gives you the opportunity to file dispute doesn't mean you'll get your money back in all cases. May we not have an experience to file such dispute.

Thank you so much.
Any advice on the shipping part?
I'm scared of loosing my item to Nipost.
Any shipment is good by me; either free or paid. Your package not being delivered by Nipost depends on the people working in the Nipost branch in your local government.

The only time I've ever experienced delay was when I ordered ear buds for my roommate in Ibadan. Those Nipost guys delayed my package for 71 good days but I later got it.

If you're scared about tracking unavailable for free shipping, opt in for AliExpress standard shipping.

BrainRider:

Please what are the things you looked out for to be sure you are not dealing with a scammer.

And what shipping company did you opt for that gives you peace that you would get the item?
Abeg no vex for my questions.
I'm a newbie trying to learn before falling a victim.
1. Reviews. Reviews. Reviews... If a seller is new on the platform and has no reviews, it's a no-go-area for me.

2. Reviews with pictures: I prefer sellers with reviews that previous buyers included pictures.

3. Number of followers the seller has and their store ratings.

4. Check the review section to see if someone from your country has ordered from the seller; what was their feedback?

5. Chat with the seller too. If they're real, they will reply you; not immediately, but they will reply you. If you get a reply immediately, doubt them.

Well, you may laugh, but it's not funny. It's a reality. Your desperation to get what you wanted from aliexpress has paved ways for you. Thumb up!
I was very scared when the last two wasn't successful, but it's history now.

Thanks for your kind words.

P.S: To everyone who might want to try this, please note that not all sellers will accept it. The first seller I contacted outrightly said no!

What you simply have to do is to save the product image; do image search; contact other sellers with good profile reviews.

You really tried. You must have used your relatives' debit cards. Or how did you do it?
I work in a school, so I used my card and that of four other teachers.

I initiated the first $20 on my card and calculated the dollar rate. Then I transferred the amount needed with extra little cash to the other four accounts I used.

However, I encountered "payment unsuccessful with two cards" so I had to move the funds into another person's account *laughs*

If I had used Chipper cash virtual dollar card, the amount I'd pay would have been double *laughs*

Since they stopped naira Mastercard from making an international online payment, How do you guys now make payment?
I ordered a $93 product yesterday, here's what I did.

I messaged the seller telling him about the maximum transaction limit my card can process. I told him to split the payment so I can use multiple cards to pay.

Splitting the payment, we will have $20 in four places and $13 as the last and now I can pay with 5 ATM cards.

You grab?

Webmasters / Can I Render This Freelance Skill With My Phone? by Scope26(m): 11:43am On Oct 12, 2021
Hi good people, I'd like your input on an issue I've been thinking about.

I have a very good android phone with a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse. I'm already into freelance writing not fully established, but there's a high demand for Facebook Ads service in the freelance market.

I've just completed a course on the skill and taking another one but I don't have a laptop.

Can I offer my Facebook ads skill with my phone changing my phone to landscape mode (desktop mode) while the typing and selecting is done by the Bluetooth keyboard and mouse?

Thank you...

And to other replies I didn't quote, here is your reply...

I believe you're all adults, then you should have thought of what the phone would be used for in the first place.

She has a bigger phone, but decided to keep this for traveling and banking purpose. Just chill sometimes and think because it can possibly save you from misunderstanding.

Y'all need to be groomed to know how to speak.

It's not everything you see you judge with your thinking. She has been using this phone for years for her business purpose just to preserve the bigger one. She uses this phone for her banking and traveling purpose.

I'm disappointed you can't think this way

Even before this Akpan job seeker hunter's case, I don't believe in SMS job invites — not to talk of online ponzi scheme sef.

This afternoon, my mum got this job invite she didn't apply for which is fake.

Beware!!! And add this address to the fake interview address list.

Check Google by searching for "Free digital marketing course." Google is offering a free one with certificate for Africans. Then download free Ebooks on the course.

Noted but haven’t you heard of vintage cars running on v8 engines? NL runs powerfully and doesn’t have to be flashy like you want it to be except you want to force your vision on the owner.

It’s this same drabness that attracted you to it in the first place.

I think we should respect the owner’s vision and let him follow his mind cos the threat of leaving is downright egotistical.

I’m pretty sure no one is preventing you from moving to other classy more functional sites

Speaking of analogies, it’s only in Nigeria you see poor men advising Dangote on entrepreneurship
It's sad the way you speak but I will resist the urge to talk harshly. Mr. Seun the owner of this forum might have seen this and I trust that he would work on it. I don't think you can keep your audience interested in you with the way you type words out of your mind like "MOVE IF YOU MAY."
Some of my bad experience on Nairaland:
1. I was reading a thread and I was on page 23 of 50 but I had to stop that day. The next day, I was trying to navigate to that page only finding myself clicking on pages before landing on that exact page. Why can't there be a navigate to page box at the bottom?
2. I tried contacting some people via direct mail on Nairaland but later found out that they don't use the mail again. I lost connection.
3. In case you did not see what am seeing for the first time, Virgo01 said you can modify what I just said by quoting.

I can't keep typing...
Quora was created 2009 i.e 4 years after Nairaland without changing theme but adding more features. Check Alexa ranking and feed your eyes.
Nairaland from it name is targeting Nigeria (I know). Google sef dey update their bot and algorithm everyday.

All I said was an advice for the Owner of this thread and not you! If you feel there is need to go against it, create your thread pointing to mine. Thankew!

Part of the reason for Nairaland’s success is its simplicity.

Your suggestions are welcome but this isn’t your site and it’s never your place to dictate to the owner.

Move on if you may, the numbers will keep increasing. Enough with the sense of entitlement please
It will be more simple using a Nice theme and adding a message section. What you're saying is like comparing Mazda 626 with G-Wagon.
Nairaland can also be like other popular forums.

This kind of thinking is why Nigeria is not developing like other countries in Africa while calling ourself GIANT of Africa.

It's as simple as backup and update.
Business / Nairaland Needs Update Or We Move!!! by Scope26(m): 9:49pm On Dec 26, 2020
Dear Seun,
It's a great pleasure having this kind of forum that connects Nigerians and foreigners created by you. But can it be better?
Nairaland has always been my most visited website in a day, week, and month but I am now losing interest like others would be now.

Here are the updates this forum needs:
-Change Nairaland's theme to a modern one and not this 1999 version.
-Instead of forwarding messages to mail, create a message section where people can add friends and send messages directly on this forum.
-Update your mods and bots to understand spammy posts, scam post, an educational post, and a helping post.
-REDUCE YOUR ADS FEE:
If we are to compare and contrast what you charge to that of Facebook with over 2 billion visitors, yours is damn expensive with a lesser amount of views. Why?
-Run advert for Nairaland on google and the likes: Don't rely on self growth of this forum but rather boost your visibility. Spend on what make you earn!

I believe you won't consider this insulting, abusing or any other negative thought. If you work on these things your earnings will be tripled.

Nairalanders say to this ooo
