I changed n- 1 to be C did some manipulation arranged in format of quadractic equation, used almighty formula then changed C back to n - 1, so to get n u have to add 1 to the other side of the equation

you could also take your GTA offer letter to the interview. If it can be updated on your I20 that will be great, you could DHL document before August 6th. dhl takes roughly 4 to 5 days

Yes u can, pls do that asap with your DS160 application number and visa fee payment. Earliest date in abuja for previously refused is August 26th. I don't know about Lagos.

U are not being very open. Your deficit is the problem, clarkson university is in NY ( high cost of living). You were given 30% scholarship. Clarkson tuition is about 40k$. Cost of attendance is around 60k$, your deficit would be 40k$+, your sponsor is a retiree not a business owner, remember it a two year master program. This is my own opinion.

Try MSc programs. PhD is only something u apply for AFTER a Prof. gives u a PERSONAL green light. Except u hv something special.

I use the word personal because some greenlights are generic.

U r probably competing with people who have one or more MSc, n u don't also have publications which would have given u a front seat.

@Scot200, Your GPA and GRE are very good. However PhD applications are "very" competitive in top programs. Please remember that you're competing with highly determined Indians here...so mix your school selections better. Maybe look towards 2 or more historically black universities too.

Also, publications and research experience are very vital selection criteria in PhD applications, so did you include any of these?

As someone just advised you, try to reach out to program coordinators and Profs before applying. Profs may not reply immediately, but program coords always do.

It might be late to get funding (full or partial) now, but check out state universities especially in Tennessee.

Did you apply to only top 20 universities?
Did you get a/an supervisor/advisor before you submitted your applications?
Any publications at all? What's your class ranking?
Did you do the TOEFL to compensate for the low GRE verbal score?
Apparently, you don't have a Masters degree and your application is likely to contend with applicants who have masters degree and also stellar GRE scores, that's another view though.
What's your research interest and how did you present them to potential supervisors or graduate coordinators?
How strong is your SOP and LORs? Did your references turn those letters in as at when due?

My two cents is that you should apply for a chemistry program and make sure you ask for space before you throw your money away.

Also, Texas A&M University Kingsville (TAMUK) is likely to waive Out-of-state tuition for you. Ch

GRE shows your reasoning ability that can cope in a graduate program. While Toefl shows your use of English ability.
