Couldn't interview the man due to rushing, but I quickly took my time to take some pictures.

cooltone: Just came from owerri today, went for a traditional wedding at Ogwa. It was about eight months back that I visited Imo state last but I must confess that Okorocha is the man. I was lost in owerri, I couldn't realize or recognize places again. The place is totally transformed. I wonder those talking trash about Rochas here are blind. The worst of all is somebody comparing ohakim with Rochas. Light and darkness are not comparable

SportsNFF Battle Spartak Over Emenike's Availability For South Africa Friendly by sCun(op): 10:46am On Aug 04, 2013
https://www.nigeriasoccernet.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/08/Emenike_51-300x168.jpg
THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) is currently in a tough battle with Spartak Moscow to secure Super Eagles’ attacker, Emmanuel Emenike, for the August 14 international friendly between South Africa and Nigeria. The game, tagged Mandela Challenge, will see the Eagles tackling the Bafana Bafana in Durban courtesy of the South African Football Association (SAFA) and the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund (NMCF). A top NFF official told The Guardian Friday that the
Russian club have refused to release Emenike for the game despite the match slated for Wednesday, which is a FIFA free day. According to the official, the NFF has written to all the clubs harbouring Nigerian players, but Spartak Moscow are the only side reluctant to honour Federation’s request because of issues that have nothing to do with the Super Eagles. The official said, “Apparently, the Russian club fear that Emenike’s manager would get the opportunity to convince the player to consider the recent offers on the table hence they are reluctant to allow him out of their sight. “You know that Fenerbahce and Liverpool have enquired of his availability and Spartak Moscow do not want to lose their prized jewel, so they have resorted to monitoring him closely. “We may be forced to take the case to FIFA because we are not requesting for Emenike’s release outside the FIFA window. Most European teams would be engaged in World Cup qualifiers so they have no reason to hold onto the striker.” The Nelson Mandela Challenge will be played in Durban for the first time in 19 Editions. Staged in honour of Nelson Mandela, the Bafana-Bafana versus Super Eagles represents a good will gesture by SAFA in support of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund in upholding the children’s well being. The Challenge has been played on an annual basis except in 2001 when it had to be cancelled after Mexico withdrew at the last minute. This year’s annual Nelson Mandela Challenge fixture has been moved from the usual date in November to fit in with the celebrations surrounding Madiba’s 95th birthday this month. The match against Nigeria will happen a few days before the Nelson Mandela Sports Day, which will feature the South African national rugby team, the Springboks, against Argentina. Another football game featuring the Bafana Bafana against Burkina Faso will hold on August 17 at FNB Stadium, Johannesburg.

Akson man: Truth be told,
I was in Owerri in 2008 during Ohakim's administration and believe me Owerri was beautiful with many of it's street lights working...then the Owerri hotel boom was at it's peak. From Owerri,we traveled through Orlu all the way to Nanka at Anambra and I could count the number of Pot holes i saw on the Owerri axis.

Fast forward,a few months ago I visited Owerri and believe me people,I did not see a street with functional street lights. Yes ,i saw signs of on-going road construction but what one Owerri taxi driver told me was that Rochas was only good at mobilizing construction materials to site but progress is annoyingly slow. I was also told that most of the roads Rochas renovated cannot survive one rainy season.

I want people residing in Imo state to come forth and tell me if what I've posted is untrue.

Ohakim was good but his arrogance got the better part of him and it's happening to Rochas now.
I can tell you those stories are false and made up by PDP people trying to regain power. Imo is much better than it was under Ohakim.

If i ask God to punish you now, these Mods will ban me.
Can imo state hold a candle to PDP governed enugu state in most indices of development?
How dare you interfere in what does not concern you or beyond your knowledge?
I am from Imo and I love Rochas, but truth be told Enugu is heaven, I've been to more than half the states in Nigeria, none is as neat, well run and beautiful as Enugu, Enugu city is London. All the place needs is more industries to create jobs and it will be perfect.

Uclloyd28: Am 4rm Imo State...Rochas is a sham...almost all the numerous roads he started are still there...they only completed road Rochas worked on are all semi-good roads...eg-wetheral rd, douglas rd, warehouse/control roads...come to World Bank housing estate, they very estate Owerri is parading as their best estate and see uncompleted major roads....Berem, plz stop lying....if u really know Imo state well, tell me, which road in Owerri,do we have like 5 banks on it? We Imolites regret voting for that failure....no impolite, be it Orlu, Owerri or Okigwe will ever vote for that scam...we're wiser!
What do you mean by that question? Douglas road has up to 10 banks on it, weatheral road has close to 20, some roads in Ikenegbu area have up to 10, BANK road has almost every bank in Nigeria on it, that's why it's called Bank road. Are you sure you have ever been to Imo?

Car TalkRe: Train And Truck Collide In Lagos by sCun: 8:05pm On Jun 22, 2013
cold: Are you serious? You're going to put the blame on the train? You think a train's brakes are ABS designed? Lmao! A train's brakes are air filled & do not stop on impact but requires a certain distance to come to a complete halt. This is because of the speed, length & weight of the train
A moving train contains energy, known as kinetic energy, which needs to be removed from the train in order to cause it to stop. The simplest way of doing this is to convert the energy into heat. The conversion is usually done by applying a contact material to the rotating wheels or to discs attached to the axles. The material creates friction and converts the kinetic energy into heat. The wheels slow down and eventually the train stops. The material used for braking is normally in the form of a block or pad.The vast majority of the world's trains are equipped with braking systems which use compressed air as the force to push blocks on to wheels or pads on to discs. These systems are known as "air brakes" or "pneumatic brakes". The compressed air is transmitted along the train through a "brake pipe". Changing the level of air pressure in the pipe causes a change in the state of the brake on each vehicle. It can apply the brake, release it or hold it "on" after a partial application.
Why do people copy and paste articles just to make themselves look intelligent and get 'likes'? You should at least acknowledge your source.

PoliticsRe: PDP Will Soon Recall Amaechi – Akpabio by sCun: 3:00pm On Jun 22, 2013
As the say, in politics there is no permanent friend or permanent enemy, only permanent interests. Nigerians should avoid taking sides when these people play their dirty politics. All we should be concerned about is asking them questions on issues plaguing our country. Instead of an Ijaw man saying Jonathan must return to office in 2015, he should ask what Jonathan has done for him or Ijaw people while in office. I remember during the period of militancy, Niger Delatans refused to ask their Governors what they have been doing with the allocations they receive; the highest in the country. They focused all their attention on the federal Government while their Governors were looting them dry. Now that there is a Niger Deltan as President, they have refused to ask him what he has done for them, all because of politics. What do people gain from taking sided purely based on sentiments when these politicians fight? All you should be concerned about is what they are doing to improve the standard of living in Nigeria. Some of these people you fight online for don't give a damn about you.

What point? India is not even the best in the cricket they clain to play, Australia is. What is Australia's population compared to India. Newzealand with a much smaller population will also give India a good run for their money in Cricket. He says the Chinese focus on basketball, how good are they at it? Spain as good as they are at football, are still far better than China at basketball. That population theory does not hold at all.

dedon007: Keshi shouldn't allow his sentiment becloud his judgement. he shouldn't say because a player did this or that, that disqualifies him a jersey. At this stage after spending several years as coach, he is still experimenting with players, he should reconcile with the foreign based players, and blend them in if he want to survive his coaching career
His experiment won us the nations cup and gave us an unbeaten run which was the longest in our history. What did those players you want hon to recall achieve for us? They made us super chickens.

Hmm that Chief of staff is my church member o! He is a very regular and dedicated member of my church. He makes donations 100 times more than his salary and the pastors happily accept without asking questions lol. Right now he's sponsoring several widows with 100k a month. I guess I wont see him in church this sunday since the comm. Of police is after him.

noblezone: Amaechi is a tyrant!

I live in Port Harcourt, so I know.

The Commissioner is only confirming what we all know.
During the 2011 guber polls, we witnessed how Amaechi compromised and pocketed the police force.
Corp members who assisted in the elections were shown the dirty side of Nigerian politics.

I salute the courage of the Commissioner to challenge the tyrant.
Power intoxicates and Amaechi will surely be disgraced!

If this Commissioner has collected money from Amaechi and keeps quiet, nairalanders would have loved him.
The truth is that Amaechi has taken his demented manners to the national level and he who fetched the ant infested firewoods has invited lizards to a feast.
I live in PH too, If Amechi's 'pocketing' of the police force brough the kind of peace and security we are enjoying now, I think it should continue!
