I've been using Skye bank since 2009. All these charges you guys are calling are sooo high. Its a naira account that you can also make dollar deposits in. Minimum amount transferable is $100, and I usually get a receipt for transfer within 48 hours. Charges are $10 + 1% of the amount you are transferring. So for $100, its just $11 for bank fees. Whatever convenience Gtbank or Access gives, I've not seen a better deal than Skye bank.....not so sure if the account plan is still on offer, u would have to check. |
U d owner of this thread should learn to listen, just look at the way you are going back and forth with guys that were trying to help you... So immature. You won't be able to survive like this in the corporate world for long. Pass your point across, without insulting people that are most likely more experienced and elder to you! |
luvable sam: U are very STU.PID....cos u are frm a certain tribe doesn't make u or ur kind superior. Am sure u ar an educated illetrate.....u really showed ur foolly on this comment......am so sure u av neva travelled past ur village, area or lagos cos u are obviously YORUBA.Hahaha.....I totally agree....apart from the insults.......although its talk from one with an empty brain. Things people say around here can make one wonder if the capacity to think is equal amongst all humans. |
I wont ban songs...... I did ban artistes... I mean, so many noise makers and people that can't string verses together. Just filling the air with garbage. Asa, Dare art alade, 2face, P-square, D'banj to some extent, Flavour, M.I, Vector(?) and a couple of others that really put it effort. There's this tall girl, Nnenna or so, really good! Ppl like Terry G, Tonto, is it prince or d'prince......those are non negotiable |

One thing you all should know is that Ishans are very proud of who they are, just like the Yorubas. I think he may be feeling a bit insecure, in the sense that, your son would grow up, becoming more of a Yoruba than an Esan Guy. I don't think it would have been an issue of one of you weren't too into your culture. Your son belongs to both of you, but the truth is he is more Edo than Yoruba, because when he grows up and he's asked where he's from, he would say Edo State, nobody fills in job application forms or whatever that "but my mom is from Ogun state" or wherever (God forbid you guys have a divorce, then in that case, if he's with you, he can decide to take your parents name) so in that sense, people would expect him to be able to speak his language properly. It would be worse for him not to be able to speak Esan than Yoruba. I mean, u live in the west, he should hear it everyday on the street.......although that doesnt always go, cos I for one grew up partly in Lagos, and can't speak Yoruba, most likely Cos of where we stayed I guess. Point is i guess its best he learns the Esan way before yoruba, but seeing you cant speak esan, your husband has to step up.....and when he refuses to, he shouldnt hold you back. You giving a Yoruba name shouldn't be an issue either.....its probably a fear that your son is going to be called by his Yoruba name than his Edo name.......like me for instance, since my mums Yoruba friends found out my name is also Sola, they have never ever called me by any of my other names. That may be what he's scared of, but hey, when the lad grows, he wld decide what's best for him. Your husband can't stop your parents from calling your son by his Yoruba name and speaking Yoruba to him. That is already a win for you....if you wanna look at it that way. And all those saying its enough ground for divorce, those are usually the ones that aren't married and take dungpiles from their men. Its your marriage, take charge and talk like adults. U guys can even start fighting about this, and your son would become like me.....I can't speak any.....and you would even be lucky if he can speak flawless English. I can't speak any..... I speak English and French. And oh, my folks prolly had dis issue.... Dunno, how it was sorted....But my maternal grandad said he's first grandson doesn't have a name from his tribe, so I must have one. And hey, I use all my names as I please. You guys should sit down and sort your stuff together......Don't just go in looking at it like a war u must win.........romance that his head and get your sway on while talking about it...... if its not going the way you want, feel free to throw in one or two "love knocks" on his head to re-align his thinking :p......you aren't on opposing sides, you guys are one.....biblically and culturally .......and hey, didn't your people marry you off to him, by collecting d dowry? :p We all have our Ups and Downs...... What differentiate us is how we handle our sh.. ...... I for one wont have a prob with my wife teaching my kids her lang.....we have already talked about it. Goodluck.....and God strengthen your union. I'm an Esan guy by the way very proud.....most I've typed in a long while. |

ogakpatakpata: He didn't do any attestation of both his WAEC certificates from Nigeria and all his degrees/Diploma's abroad, same applies to me, infact, the issue of attestation didn't come up for him neither myself during our interview, although, they saw all our original certificates / Degrees / Diploma's , transcripts of grades and all our school records both in Nigeria and where we both schooled abroad, probably they did their own consultations with our schools, and the UAE government didn't talk about our attestation when they processed our employment visa's. Don't condemn yourself, God has not condemned you, you are not sinning too much, just do all we have suggested and ask for his unmerited favours plus your foreign certifications you stand a chance. Goodluck. Thanks a bunch, boss. |
@ogakpatakpata. Been reading thru, In line with your lil bros experience. You said he had foreign qualifications, so he didn't need to go to the MFA. Does that mean he didn't also take his WAEC results to the min of edu/MFA for certification? I'm kinda considering the UAE, still praying, God hasn't answered me yet...dunno if I've been sinning too much o...and mine is similar to his situation. I don't plan on going anywhere without getting somfin online like him, either. Its not that critical Cheers. |

Okocha didn't necessarily teach him how to play, he learnt how to play on the streets of Brazil, and he said he used to practice with his dog, which had a wicked left foot. Funny enough, in the interview, this came up. Ronaldinho himself said he learnt some things about football, from Jay-Jay.....during training, watching him, and him showing him stuff. And Jay-Jay calls him his little bro. Of cos, he has respect for Jay-Jay, and m sure that goes vice-versa. He also talked about the similarities between Brazilian and African players...... I guess that answers it for you. |
Well I spent my time playing footie, or playing my Atari, with them joysticks back in the days... Other stuff like jumping from chair to chair, trying ro avoid the hot lava on the ground, or the monsters lurking... Man, kids, got skills... I missed dem days when one didn't have to worry about them bills!!! |
Hahahahaha.. Truth is, these lines may seem lame, but they are the truth sometimes. Not everyone can deal with the pressure, with dem ladies hassling some guys about "when are we gonna get married" and all that stuff... Not everyone can deal with it, when they aren't meeting up financially.. |
It shouldn't be okay or not okay, because your church or pastor says so... What you should be asking... Is it okay with God? Can u live with that? |

Hiya, does anyone know the website for the Embassy of Portugal in Nigeria, or know much about their procedure for application for a student visa. Can't seem to locate it. Would go there sometime, when I'm around, just need to have an overview or summat. Thanks |
