PoliticsRe: Uyo - City Of Peace And Beauty (Pictures) by seanet01: 8:18pm On Apr 13, 2013
djustice: I'm waiting for the Asiwaju Criminal Notebooks to come and piss all over this thread. I am an indigene of Lagos State, and when I visited Uyo in 2010, I was stunned by the rate of development. I've hated Fashola, Tinubu and the whole ACN nonsense since then.

Consider that the total revenue for this state has never been up to half of total revenue in Lagos. Also consider that they have about twice the land mass of Lagos State to develop, and yet they have more roads per square km, a fully functional airport, complete with hangar.

In Lagos, we're still talking about how we will "soon" start building an airport, 13 years after the idea was first broached by Tinubu.

I also noticed that there is no single toll road in Uyo. Not one! And all the roads are better than our single toll road in Lagos.
What a dunce.
You have completely lost your senses.

Desola: As nice as these pictures are, it pains me that development seems to be taking place in one state of the west. I would be happier to see such development recorded in other Yoruba states like Ibadan, Abeokuta and the rest. I want other Yoruba states to give Lagos a run for its money!

Lagos shouldn't be the be all and end all.

citizenisb: Friday, April 12, the US raised its nuclear alert status to DEFCON 3, Condition Yellow (out of 5 levels), stating “There are currently no imminent nuclear threats against the United States at this time, however the situation is considered fluid and can change rapidly.” Many believe that North Korea will launch their test missile on or about April 15. Japan has instructed its armed forces to shoot down any North Korean missile that heads toward its territory.

Contrary to comments from the White House Thursday, the Pentagon reported that “North Korea probably has nuclear weapons that can be mounted on ballistic missiles.” This is a very significant admission by the United States and a dangerous change to the Korean situation.

China has mobilized its military and is massing near the border with North Korea. This step was taken after North Korea placed a mid-range Musudan missile ready to launch on its east coast and its “dedication of more facilities at the Yongbon complex to nuclear weapons work.”

According to some sources in Washington, the Chinese military mobilization is not directed at deterring Pyongyang but as support for North Korea’s steps.
Late Thursday, Representative Doug Lamborn, a Colorado Republican, made a disquieting disclosure. He quoted an excerpt from a Defense Intelligence Agency report expressing “moderate confidence” in the finding that North Korea has nuclear weapons capable of delivery by ballistic missiles whose “reliability will be low.”

Hypocrite. People turn a blind a eye to it because unlike GEJ, Fashola is paying them their monthly pension and is only owning them their gratuities unlike GEJ who is owing some of his pensioners several years of unpaid pension and gratuities.
People know surely they will be paid soon by Fashola unlike your GEJ.
PoliticsRe: Daniel Dumps Pdp …. Appears At Ppn Rally by seanet01: 10:41pm On Apr 11, 2013

From Kolade Larewaju
ABEOKUTA – GOVERNOR Olugbenga Daniel of Ogun State has  finally dumped the Peoples Democratic Party [PDP] for the Peoples Party of Nigeria [PPN] appearing with his Deputy; Alhaja Salmot Badru at the state rally of the party at the MKO Abiola Stadium.

Gbenga Daniel
Daniel had earlier insisted that he would remain in PDP and work for President Goodluck Jonathan’s reelection while all the candidates in his faction of the PDP who did not make the Independent Electoral Commission of Nigeria [INEC] list moved to PPN.
But Daniel dressed in a cream colored lace material arrived the venue of the rally at about 1.15 pm throwing the crowd that thronged the venue into ecstasy amidst songs deriding those who made them leave the PDP.
Addressing the crowd, the Governor who took time to show them, the candidates of the party from House of Assembly, National assembly and Governorship for the forthcoming elections said that he had become an elder statesman who would support anything good.
He however still insisted that he would work for the reelection of President Jonathan as all members of the PPN had agreed to work for his reelection.
He said “If we see anything good, we must endorse it. What we are witnessing today is good and we must support it.  Even though you are not happy, you have declared your support for President Jonathan, we will vote for him because we are working for him.
“I have come to feed my eyes and my eyes are seeing good things today”
The Spiritual Leader of the Oodua Peoples Congress [OPC]; Dr. Fredrick Fasheun in his speech noted that Governor Daniel was capable of moving the state and the party forward and should be allowed to do so adding that some people were just against him for no reason.
The National Legal adviser of the party Barrister Romanus Azuzu read a declaration saying “Whereas the Peoples Party of Nigeria, PPN, is made up of peoples of ideas who are determined to effect a positive change in the affairs of our country and liberate all our people from shackles of oppression by overlords.

http://www.vanguardngr.com/2011/03/daniel-dumps-pdp-appears-at-ppn-rally/
Fredrick Fasheun the man who publicly endorsed Gbenga Daniel and declared that Gbenga Daniel is the best thing to happen to Ogun State want to reestablish UPN so that he can implement the aims and objectives to justify the 2.4 Billion naira he collected from Goodluck Jonathan.
South West please shine your eyes and send this senile old man to where he belong.
Hall of Shame!

Sincere 9gerian: ** Press Releases

Feb 6, 2001 - LASG To Build 4th Mainland Bridge, 15 Major Roads

In the bid to fulfill its promise to build the 4th Lagos Mainland Bridge and construct a ring road round the city, the Lagos State Commissioner for Works, Engineer Rauf Aregbesola yesterday performed the official opening of bids for the private Sector Participation in Roads development programme.

According to Engineer Aregbesola, while speaking at the occasion, the building of the 4th Lagos Mainland Bridge, which will link the entire Lagos Island, Victoria Island and Ikoyi with Ikorodu would greatly help at decongesting the traffic and open up the Langbasa/Epe Express Road and Ikorodu Axis to development..."
http://asiwajubolatinubu.com/archives/news/2001/02/06/20010206N01.html

That was 2001, but this is 2013 so where is the 4th mainland bridge? I will commission an official search for the bridge tomorrow. Perhaps it was constructed in Tinubu's pocket.
Bingo they clearly put it on agenda and did not put any timeline on it. Were you so blind.
Your President put a timeline on it and his party have already spent 16 billion dollars on it with no tangible improvement.
Lagos has not committed a Kobo to the Fourth mainland bridge and i think you should know the difference now.
Project A. Put on the agenda but not yet financed nor with timeline.
Project B. Contracts given to several companies, phantom power projects executed, billions of dollars paid out to ghost contractors, a timeline of 2011 but not a single improvement in power supply up till now.
Grow some brain.
