Prof Corruption: It smacks of ignorance to blame the judge. The maximum sentence that can be imposed is two years, with or without option of fines. The accused pleaded guilt and being a first time offender, it's left for the judge to either use his discretion to temper justice with mercy or apply the maximum sentence. The judge has done nothing wrong in this regard.

What needs to be done is simple.
1. EFCC should seek an order to confiscate all his properties that have been proven to be proceeds of the crime.
2. GEJ should send a bill to NASS to amend that stupid law. The sentence should be at least 10yrs without an option of fine.
