You know what Idupaul you have given me the best advice in a long time. I realize why some people don't even get into meaningful debates on this forum because it just seems like killing brains cells with a bunch of daft people. The more you try to explain sensibly the more it spins out of control to name calling and crap. It is sad when you go to other countries with Americans and their ignorance to even simple things exude out like sweat. The worst thing though is when people who are first generation Americans act as ignorant. It is quiet disturbing.

P.S the ID Savanaha might not be a common name realistically but it stuck me as a female name however many people on here do not have the common sense enough to realize that it is more feminine that masculine.

The US did well, so did team GB. China came top, nobody knows what kind of pressure or threats their athletes performed under, but they came top of the medal table.

I think team GB did a fantastic job, so did Jamaica for such a small nation.

This thread seems to contain pointless arguments amongst people who's nation pinned all their medal hopes on a game of football

But Onyinye Its more like we are 4getting the fact that the olympics is not all about winning alone. If it was all about winning so many countries wont bother participating because they would simply know right from the start that they don't stand a chance. Lets me give u an instance There is a particular country that brought only one athlete to the olympics, the athlete is a swimmer and they don't even have an olympic size swimming pool in their country, i hope u get what I am trying to say, US is much more Obsessed about winning all the games of the olympics even despite the fact that most of their athletes are not purely US Blood. The Spirit of the game is far more than that. You need to have watched Nig. Vs US. Soccer match, The commentators from US were just saying unimaginable things despite being aware that US is no country to reckon with when it comes to soccer.
I just thank God That US was not Heaven, If it were so It could better be imagined than experienced.

Yes and no. America does have its faults just like everyone. The problem is people only think of the USA as only the good. So when they hear of the bad it is like. . . . "OMG!!! I can't believe this actually exist in this country."

In terms of showwing the good and the bad thats not very true. American media and government are not that forthcoming with the good and the bad. It was just the other day that I found out that their are Americans dying of starvation. I was flabbergasted at that. . . and that the mortality rate in Memphis Tenn. is as high as it is. I have been living here for four years and I didn't know that because Americans are so busy looking for the bad and the ugly in other countries. They tekk give a cent to help fly infested children in some no name African country ( they call the country Africa) while hunger and death are ravishing people who were born here and hold citizenship cards. Oh please. . . tell someone who was born yesterday about propaganda. How many dateline, Nightline 20/20, 48hrs episode is the death of a white male or female throughly investigated when a black death is treated as a rodent trap or insignificant waste of time. Even in the nightly news a black man commits a crime their face gets well splattered and when I white crime is committed it is given a few seconds air time. The United States of America wrote, signed and patented the book on propaganda.

Before the Olympics rumors were surfacing that the Chinese government were telling bar owners to not patronize blacks and Mongolians as far as am concerned its still rumors. I didn't go to China and find out. By the way the West is not only anti China but Anti any country that they want to be. Whether it comes down to owning Nuclear reactors or gold medals.

Has it been proven that the Chinese cheated with the underage girl or is it still speculation? Even if the gold medal is stripped from the Chinese they will still be on top for gold medal count with out the gymnastics gold medal. Frthermore, when Marion Jones was winning all the fake gold medal no one suspected her till years after. She was on every headline news world wide for running amazingly but I bet you when she was found out for taking performance enhancement drugs many people didn't hear about it.

The balance of power is shifting in everyffin, previous Olympics US tops in all medal but the reverse is the case now.
US version of the medal table placed them on top of china while the IOC table placed china on top.
Is it not jealousy that they created another table outside the official OIC table.
This shows how arrogant the Americans can be at times.

Who is watching the closing ceremony, The Benchmark is too much for London 2012.

The way the US makes it having more medal is better than having the most gold however, that is an untruth. Gold is always stronger. If they had more gold no one would hear the end of it.

Maybe am just bitter because watching the olympics in the US is not as fun as they only show events they are in or will do the best in. Forgetting they it is a worldwide event.
