Recently, the fossil of a new species of reptile with a long bony neck and long legs has been discovered, and with it scientists have a clearer picture of the Early Triassic Period.

These lizards aptly named 'Strider' after the famous 'Lord of The Rings' character, have history dating back 250 million years, right from the end of the Permian Mass Extinction.

After that, life spread in all corners of the planet and evolved however required, whenever needed. Descendants of this species from the middle to late Triassic period had been discovered previously and scientists thought them to be mostly aquatic or amphibian.

The study that has been published in the journal PLOS ONE, states that the rare fossil, named 'Elessaurus Gondwanocciens' is from the early Triassic area.

According to a report in CNN, the first part of the name has been derived from J R R tolkien's Elvish language called Quenya, where 'Elessar' means 'Elf-stone'. Elessar Telcontar is the name also chosen by King Argon II, who also goes by the nicknames Strider and Longshanks. And this theory is substantiated by the fact that this reptile had long legs and hence it was appropriate for the researchers to have given them this name.

The reports further states that the species name, 'gondwanoccidens', has been derived from the super continent Gondwana that had once included the modern-day regions of Antarctica, South America, Africa, India, the Arabian Peninsula, australia and New Zealand.

In Latin, "occidens" means "from west", hence the name suggests the location of the fossil.

Found in Southern Brazil, these reptiles seemed more suited to staying in land than water. This fact helped researchers connect the dots from the Permian extinction to the late Triassic. They now speak with greater confidence that this maybe the early relative of later Tanystropheus, who roamed the waters of the northern continents.

This means that after the extinction event, the Elessaurus diversified and spread wide before evolving through time.

3. It's been long since I watched a romance drama where both leads are equally rich. I loved it, not everytime poor person and rich person. Lol plus she was watching my fellow citizens on tv

4. They filmed some scenes in one of my adopted countries australia, go won hee hugged a koala, that is in my bucket list by the way

5. Female lead has anorexia, I don't think I've seen anorexic people portrayed in dramas, it made me glad to see mental issues being spotlighted, in fact at least half of the cast have issues, Choi young unni is probably psychotic and schizophrenic, her dad and step mom are definitely psychos too

Now what I didn't like

1. Female lead has amnesia and just like that she's poor and forgets she has anorexia, see these drama people will introduce exciting issues and just sweep it under rug, just like in itaewon class, a sociopath fell in love and boom she's a nice person all of a sudden, here too anorexia is cured just like that lol. They lack follow through

2. The office politics *sigh* I was ready to watch a pure Romcom but they had to hit me with this, now I don't terribly mind cos it's interesting but I know by episode 8 everything will turn makjang

Inspired by and following in the footsteps of Ava DuVernay, Shonda Rhimes, Viola Davies, Tyler Perry and Mo Abudu, UK based actress Yvonne Hays has taken a big leap with her first foray into movie producing as she releases her new film ‘THEREAFTER’ on movie streaming platform ‘Amazon Prime’.

The short movie ‘THEREAFTER’ stars Mofe Duncan, Weruche Opia, Yvonne Hays, Prince Shoyelu, Christianah Uzoukwu and Lola May.

The movie has received a pat on the back from 7 film festivals. It was selected as a semi-finalist at the Sydney Indie Film Festival in australia. It has screened at Zimbabwe International Film Festival in Zimbabwe, Cape Town International Film Market Festival in South Africa, The African Film Festival in Texas, Toronto International Nollywood Film Festival in Canada, Mama Afrika Film Festival in Kenya and The African American Film Marketplace & S.E Manly Short Film Showcase in Hollywood, California.

Synopsis:

In this compelling short drama, 4 women embark on different paths to healing after a devastating betrayal by a pivotal figure in each of their lives. June’s success as a motivational speaker masks her inner turmoil. Her mantra is ‘embrace your power’. She wants to forget her past but how can she forget when she can’t forgive. Layla’s life is a direct reflection of her early emotional upheaval. She finally has a moment of clarity - in order to build a future she has to recover the sense of self-worth she lost so long ago. Amanda and Bukky grew up as close as sisters till a dark secret pushed them apart. Now Amanda has returned after a self- imposed exile to reconnect. When the secret is so devastating, can the truth bring them closer or break their bond beyond repair?
