– Governor Okorocha of Imo state has backed
President Buhari’s decision not to pay N5,000 stipend
to unemployed graduates
– He said paying money for doing nothing will bred
laziness among the youth
– Okorocha rather the fund should be channeled to
the provision of infrastructure development that will
aid development
He made this known when he interacted with State House
Correspondents explaining that that giving physical cash
was not necessary.
Okorocha said this after a private meeting with Vice
President Yemi Osinbajo at the Presidential Villa, Abuja,
the governor said that giving the money might create
more problems than anyone could think of.
He added the stipend it may lead to marrying a harem of
women as wives and increased intake of alcoholic drinks.
The governor stressed further that it would have been a
great idea to pay the money but that there were many
other ways to redeem the pledge.
Recall, President Buhari dropped a shocker less than 24-
hour ago, that he will not honour his campaign promise
to pay N5000 to each unemployed Nigerian.
He made the remark while speaking in Saudi Arabia as he
continued his visit to the Middle East over the weekend.
Buhari said he would rather focus on funding the
construction of infrastructure, as well as education,
agriculture and mining to create employment
opportunities for able bodied young men. |

presidential bid of former Abia state Governor, Dr Orji
Uzor Kalu.
Speaking yesterday, former FIFA and Caf executive

Kalu is eminently qualified to lead world’s football

his candidacy well who says he canot win?
Dr Adamu affirmed “ We are trying to convince him to
run so that he can bring his wealth of experience to
bear on the game of football. Every confederations
have their needs, so we should ensure that he gets
the mandate of the other bodies so that those needs
can be met.
We should ensure that players have a place in his
administration because he has shown enough capacity
for their welfare.”
Adamu said he was consulting widely to ensuring that
Kalu gets the mandate. “Im using my wide contacts to
sell his candidacy to the public and some people who
