Anybody else have anything sensible to say.
IMO, no one has really said anything sensible actually or hit the point on why schools like Exeter or Eton are "perceived" as good. Its pretty easy to make a public school or any type of school good.

1. (Most important) Making it highly selective. Search for the best students in primary school and pipeline them into these schools. Also admit rich silly people to fund scholarships for these supersmart students who cannot afford to attend a private school. This will ensure that you have successful alumni. Rich students will have the connections to make them always successful, while smart poor students would have the drive to reach the greatest heights.
2. Form ties with the best universities in the world, and become a "feeder" for these top schools. Exeter is a "feeder" for the most high selective schools in the US, while Eton is a "feeder" for the Oxbridge schools.
3. Good facilities (This is the least most important)
4. Good well paid teachers

3. Espomolo: Spanish mother and Castizo father
4. Mulatto: Spanish and black African
5. Moor: Spanish and Mulatto

Thank God they did not tell you to make any of the banners for the world cup. You would have misspelled every country's name. Anyhow let us thank God, for our founding fathers today when Argentina sees the might of Nigeria.

and why are you obsessed with exotic?
I think people like exotic- see how Ezeuche is thrilled at getting with FL Gator. Not me, just conversations with other ppl.

taio's dad's last name is definitely not cruz. the guy prolly took his mom's last name
or his step-dad's last name, assuming he had an absentee father. like most of them.
kai. that's mean

it could be his last name. but i am not sure. makes sense- he would not want to be carrying a full-blown  nigerian name into music. that could screw up your career.

i don't think any musician put black girls in their music video. at best, maybe mixed ones. but i still like taio cruz video 'cause it's different n unique. maybe because it's british. the style is just different
They do. Listen to American hip hop lol. Most of the girlsa re black but they dont look african.  In british famous black british singers rarely put black women. I never noticed it, not really being race conscious by most people, until someone pointed it out to me. Though it also depends on the musician.

Anyhoo, i have exceeded my maximum post on nairaland for the week. see you guys next week.

see foolish sjeezy saying naija girls are not hot by international standard.
Yeah interesting Nigerian girls in Europe (especially the UK) are exotic to europeans. Sadly they are plentiful in naija, so they cannot be exotic to us.
RomanceRe: Are Igbo Girls The Most Beautiful Girls In Nigeria? by SEFAGO(m): 6:46am On Jun 10, 2010
what about my husband taio cruz?
plz don't compare him to that classless sjeezy
Assuming that is his last name, his father must have been from lagos. Though he could be using his brazilian mothers name. The only yoruba people who bear names like cruz are from lagos. I think sjeezy is from lagos thats why he acts so gay. And his comment about putting black girls in music videos lol- just funny though he changed 100% when he started becoming popular in the US

PoliticsRe: How Do We Make Our Public Schools The Best In The World? by SEFAGO(m): 6:53am On Jun 09, 2010
first of all, the schools you mentioned are NOT public schools. they are very expensive private boarding schools for rich kids in the US.
Eton's a public school in the british sense. Its not a public school in the American sense.

But yeah none are government owned
PoliticsRe: How Do We Make Our Public Schools The Best In The World? by SEFAGO(m): 6:44am On Jun 09, 2010
How do we make our public schools better than Eaton college or phillips exeter academy? I know a lot of people would laugh at me for saying this, afterall, eaton college is seen as one of the best secondary schools in the world but is it possible.
You mean Eton College. FYI Eton college is not academically rigorous. Philips Exeter too. And neither are seen as the best secondary school in their country trust me.
EducationRe: Preparing for GRE by SEFAGO(m): 9:07pm On Jun 08, 2010
everyone has a chance unlike in the US (From what I perceive).
Yeah in the US you have to be good, because there are so many good students around. Usually though connections trump anything else, so the only spaces left are for very able students.
What grad schools miss however is that the grade does not an engineer make. I know several engineers with 2:2's who will wipe clean the asses of those with a 1st anyday in industry.
Grad schools want research potential and good grades. That's why they are more interested in academic superstars than practical people.

CultureRe: What Is Your Take On Homosexualism? by SEFAGO(m): 6:34am On Jun 08, 2010
@ Sagamite

I swore I would never go into this, but you keep causing trouble:

As I have said leave me out of this. I am not ruba_slippa- you prolly assumed because of this, knowing your thought process:

Not too sure sefago  would roll with that, but sagamite  might,  then again, he might pass, unless goats are involved!
I would also assume the goat pictures brought back memories of the chimpanzee picture  grin.

However note, apart from the fact that i dont engage in cowardly tactics, I would not do so in such a sloppy way that would make me identifiable. I feel insulted lol.

Moreover, I cannot even speak pidgin at the level of ruba_slipa and my attempts to do so would be extremely obvious. I also do not enage people that directly in my posts. ruba_slipa's style is too different from mine to even warrant suspecting we are the same. Apart from the fact that his writing is very very emotive, just like how you write- a style that I dislike personally, he also has some peculiarities.

He tends to pick your arguments directly, while spicing it up with insults. Further, he engages you on the bestiality issue which i would never do. I would easily dispel it on consent issues and the fact that this is not parallel logic. He is right though about the fact that bestiality laws can be argued to be to protect animals. This has been done to engage people who want to strike bestiality laws. But I would not even go that long wind route, but stick with my consent logic since I am not interested in bestiality. Also, I would never engage arguments on naturality because of the fact that humans and animals are just not the same. I think ruba_slippa pointed that out to you.

Moreover, he escapes the NL word censor by using symbols such as @ and [pounds]. I dont have a british pounds sign on my laptop undecided. Infact I had to google this up to find out:

http://www.ehow.com/how_5663401_type-british-pound-sign.html

Its likely that ruba_slipa bought his laptop in britain or copy and pasted the pound sign. I would personally (If you follow my style) separate the words like s=e=x or just use homo/gay activity.

Anyhoo, please leave me out of this and use some Midlands arguments to engage ruba_slippa.

My word, and I rarely lie- We are not the same. You don't seem like a nice person but there is nothing I can do to change that. Please leave me out of this. This would be my last post.

Dont take me seriously. Anyhow bros, I think you should also consider the possibility of Canada- its not the best place, but way less stress than both the UK and US.

1. Is my list realistic? or do I have to add more schools to it? ( I think I have to pay extra for that)

- Add more schools. Pay for it once and for all.

2. What do you think my minimum GRE score should be if I am to be considered with my background?

- They dont have a minimum. Aim for a 1400+ IMO and they would be happy with you. Preferably a 1500.

3. How much does work experience weigh in getting positive responses?
- What type of work experience? For masters yes they do.

4. What is life like in the US after one finishes grad school, I intend to at least gain very good working experience there before maybe returning to Nigeria. I know there is a financial meltdown but compared to the Uk and Canada what are the chances of securing one?

- There is way more work in the US, than in the UK. Trust me, I have been in Europe for sometime now and the US job market is way better- I have said enough. The unemployment figures in the US are more because of laziness lol. The problem is work visa issue. Especially if you are going into industry. However if you use your common sense IMO you would not have much problems.

5. In the event that I cannot get one immediately, what options are available?

- Depends- you could engage in further study, marry americana grin, or just move to another country grin

6. On the issue of Canada I also intend to send an application to the University of Alberta, I hear very good reviews for Canada but I am still surprised that many people do not consider going there especially as I have heard that they have less immigrant visa issues
, is there anyone that can throw more light on this?

- Canada is a great place but too cold for black man tongue. Seriously though dont make anyone aware of it yet b4 Nigerians pour sand sand for you garri and come there in droves. Operate under silence. Most people are not aware how easy it is to migrate to canada- its a joke compared to any country. Alberta also has a lot of oil companies but it is in the middle of bumblef.u.ck North America.

If you are paying the feels please try Canada and move from there, its just that it might be hard to get a job there, but they even have lower unemployment than several countries. All in all, I a sure when you spend a significant time in obodo oyinbo, you would find out like the rest of us, that home is where the heart is- Naija  grin
EducationRe: Preparing for GRE by SEFAGO(m): 9:58am On Jun 07, 2010
I was just looking through facebook, and I noticed how several people I knw who worked hard to attend top schools in the US (Like not US citizens who did not have to be the best of the best like most international students), and I noticed all work for investment banks now lol especially Goldman Sachs. Its funny because I nearly went that route junior year. I had done the networking, the extracurricular, and all the right things then I bailed out. Infact one of my classmates, he works for a major IB, put a lot of pressure on me because he said that my GPA+science major+being a minority would make me an easy shoe-in. I actually dont regret it because I doubt I would have loved it.

Anyhoo, I think I am digressing way too much but I have this major question:

Did the GRE help anyone at all in this cycle because it did not for me?
