Asia is excellent from the undergraduate level down to the elementary school level, in which the American schools are terrible.

Hmm . . . it depends. I am sure you are referring to the sciences and engineering, and a bit to business- but at the undergraduate level asians do not focus on humanities a lot. Infact, Nigeria has produced a significant number of notable writers than the Asians.

Also I feel the US has probably the best undergraduate education if you consider individual and departmental strengths of schools instead of focusing on the popular ones. That is understand that CMU is better than Harvard for engineering instead of focusing on the fact that Harvard is number one. In my own opinion, the school you attend does not really matter as much as your drive- its just that there is a high concentration of driven people at certain schools.

I beg to differ- in some countries, speaking english is generally frowned against especially the French who are a proud people. Lots of countries in Europe prolly dont even have as many english speakers as Nigeria. Its only in Nigeria where we are proud of speaking oyibo language lol

I am too tired write now to find the methodology for determining literacy, but under the definition- an igbo man who can write igbo quite well would be considered literate I am sure. This is however speculation, I have forgotten how literacy is determined but it's not exclusive to the romance languages of western europe.

Statistics on illiteracy allows for people who can write in various languages. It does not have to be english.

Asian Universities actually engage in way more significant research than most European universities and are inching closer to American Universities. It is possible that Asia would generate significant innovation in the next 100 years . However, their research is nearly as good as European ones except of course research intensive countries like Germany and Switzerland who are in a class of their own.
