@brossiye,thanks a million for the info. I even heard that oluti was invited by PTAD last 2weeks where he was asked to provide the judgement letter that said nitel should be given 20years which he could not.however he apologized to PTAD madam and alita aliyu which were present.ptad has said they acknowledge the fact that there is backlog of arrears.

Will have been glad to know what the ANET meeting talked about. Whoever was there should update the house. As far as i know, there are no new updates currently apart from the fact of waiting for announcement of date of commencement of verification. No worries, all is on track. Will talk to my people here in abuja and see if i can get any info about the lagos meeting or any news from PTAD. Stay blessed and safe.

I will like to use this opportunity to tender my unreserved apology to @brossiye.everything he said was nothing but the gospel truth.I was reliably informed that a particular union led by makinde/oloti was behind the ugly incident that happened at PTAD office.the bone of contention by the said union was that they wanted 20years payoff which the government said was not feasible owing to the current economic situation. Ptad madam has told them they should opt out if they were not interested in life pension & not come for verification. Also it was made known that nitel staff will be put on life pension and subsequently the issue of arreas will be discussed. She also said ptad should be given little time before the commencement of nitel verification which will start in a few weeks from now.once again @brossiye pls accept my apology.

its obvious your bark is only worse than your bite.I'm not here to exchange banter with u but I don't think no union from the blues ever mentioned 20years u claimed. The payoff agreed upon was 5years+ and arrears so I'm amused about your 20yrs claim.nitel doesn't exist any longer and a lot of documents have been missen to think they will place u on life pension.anybody thinking about that is daydreaming. I wonder how your so called anonymous union told u its gonna be life pension and alita aliyu is still unaware up till the time I'm writing this post.bpe doesn't owe anybody up till Feb 2015.meaning all what yaradua govt paid covers up to feb2015.my nitel people there is only one union.

@brossiye stop misleading people on this thread,where did u get your info of calumny. PTAD don't recognize u.so how did u get your controversial story because I wonder at times when some of the info you put out is quite different from that of the recognized slits aliyu.may be u have another union leader

We should also understand that approval does not mean the money is already available and cash backed. This is a huge sum that government may not have sitting in one account. It has to be planned for.

u really doubt a lot and perhaps I expect u to know about the latest development if u get your info from union executives.anyway, just keep your fingers crossed as to whether getting letter of approval translates to paying u overa period of 10yrs.no point for me updating anyone here again. Disengaged + pensioners are both involved. The payout was calculated late last year at the accountant generals office@toast

Finally3x!nitel representatives were told lastweek to write a proposal for verification which has been done and were told to comeback last week Friday.I'm happy to tell u. Letter of approval for payment was collected on Friday by alita aliyu.the sum of 299 billion has been earmarked for payment of pension to all "parastatals".the core civil servant is not included in the money and the good news is that it is not connected with 2017 budget, also a meeting will hold in abuja tomorrow on date of verification.

PTAD invited nitel and 8 other parastatal 4days ago and were told to produce 2representative each.moderlity to carry out the verification exercise to be discussed. Details later

I thought u are relying on non nitel staff for inaccurate information. Has CBN given them verification date on 20th?there is an update just yesterday but is better u get it from your trusted source

I think the 3guys are all culpable. The incident happened on Saturday but according to report they were arrested 3.am on Monday which shows the guy claiming to be breadwinner was arrested with them when he supposed to have reported to the police after seeing blood. Also I expected him to flee the tattooed guys house after knowing he has a questionable character. They should hold the three of them

Please permit me to ask; will the payments take care of the arrears or just for one year? Cos I was told that this incoming payment is one year, then the future pension will be added to yearly budgets as they normally do for the normal civil servants.

I think they agreed on 5years +arears but I will find out and get back.if the payment will be spread halita will be aware but he did not mention anything of such.they were at PTAD office twice last month.

Becos i said ur moni will be paid early it has caused anger cos am not a nitel staff but my friend is so i think i shuld have said ur moni will be paid december so as 2 make u hapi. so u are not a nitel staff, for your info the case has been withdrawn from the lawyer that lost at the appeal court

The pensioners to be verified are many. nitel alone is over 16,000. airways should be up to 3,000. in all you may be talking of over 25,000 people to be verified for paratatals. To make it faster will mean ptad will have to deploy more staff which they may not have budgetted for.

Nitel is 16000(disengaged and pensioners),,if anything doesn't change every one will be paid.all calculations has been done at abuja with ministry of finance with nitel delegate.the money is already in 2017 budget. The issue @brosiye33 raised was discussed last year about the money so huge and that was y we were told to wait for this year budget when provision will have been made for it.endeavor to always get information from nitel representatives in abuja.not somebody told me this or that.nitel people na wa o.we will have course to smile this year.we have been told not to comment here again cos of the wrong info people put here.all is well

Your info is not correct about CBN and lawyer and there is nothing suggesting bpe will handle nitels payment (quote me anywhere). PTAD is solely responsible for the payment. And by the way which lawyer are u talking about,falana or another lawyer? May be there is another lawyer for disengaged staff cos it is femi falana for pensioners and last year he advised motel pensioners to settle out of court.there is only one supreme court in Nigeria and may take ages before motels case is heard.also then they were bothered with election cases. Yes I said hopefully it will start next month immediately after the completion of core civil servant verification which is entering the last phase.April consist of 30days,I did not say it will start April 1,also they are experiencing paucity of fund and that is y they have not been able to carry out the ongoing exercise simultaneously but the union were told they intend to conclude the verification latest by June and hopefully when the budget is passed during this period it will be done almost the same time across all zones I.e swest,southsouth etc.I did not tell u it will take 3months.quote me anywhere this is info of 2wks ago from PTAD .again on the info u get from your lawyer and cbn ,100% false.

@segzy3: Calm down. I have a business interest in this payment that is why i am following the information keenly. From what i am hearing, disengaged staff from (2006 - upwards) who have not reached 10 years in service as at time of disengagement will not get any pension. Please verify and inform people here. That is the normal rule on the old pension scheme. They are not entitled to it. They are only entitled to the gratuity and pay off which has already been paid at the time of disengagement. Though i understand this category of staff also have a legal case they are pursuing on it.
On the other issue, there will be no arrears to be paid for now. I am sure of that. The arrears are too massive that the leaders(union and Halita Aliyu group) were advised by PTAD, Ministry of Budget, etc to scale it down such that they will be added to the yearly pension budget payroll then arrears can be settled bit by bit when government finances improves. They agreed and this is why it was added in the budget. Hope you know that the pensions for one year is about 9 billion naira for NITEL alone not adding Airways and the others.

Still nothing of such agreement was reached with the leaders to scale down until finances improve.u may try and crosscheck with them

My source is from within the DG PTAD's office. They are currently soon coming to North Central soon to conclude the zonal verification for civil servants. Cuurently, the PTAD is preparing modalities on verification of the Parastatal Pensioners (Nitel, Airways and others). It may not be done zonally but probably abuja, lagos and portharcourt. Move close to nitel pensioners and get firsthand info.they have their meeting every month and have representatives always in touch with PTAD.I marveled when you adults put out unconfirmed info. Anyways, verification for police has been done,core civil servants is ongoing (ministries). You will soon be attended to.

The payment has been signed by the finance minister, i see no reason why it should be delayed until now..... If nothing comes up next week, we make a move.
