Vo: sir its not illegal to give birth in the US bla bla.......but i also noticed she wasnt asked if she was preg during her interview so no prob (felt some relief)
Me: actually when she was preg her mom was in naija but by the time she was due mom had moved to the US (na who send me msg, regretted immediately i said it)

If she speaks broken English or pidgin English, it is very helpful for her to at least attempt the interview. If an interpreter is needed one will be called.

It's also extremely helpful that she understand that an officer asking "Yoruba? Igbo? Hausa?" is them trying to find out which language she needs an interpreter in... You would not believe how many people just stand their saying "interpreter" over and over again while failing to even listen to the fact that the officer is speaking Yoruba to them (yes, a couple of us have picked up the language).

How are u guys coping with this dollar wahala? I intend travelling with my wife and a kid and the cheapest flight is Qatar. Imagine going to Middle East before starting the journey. Prices are crazy i swear. Paying almost 1.5 million just to travel and na even Qatar first.

Pls house, is it compulsory I most hold money while traveling? I'm not staying in hotel and I can withdraw from ATM in the US. I was wondering if it's a requirement that one must travel with certain minimum amount of money.

Its not compulsory u hold cash but trust me! its better for u to, ATM rate and charges are crazy outside country except u wouyld do POS trxns all thru ur stay.
My advice is go to a bank and do PTA, its cheaper and safer for you.

Who knows what the VO saw in the application - maybe something from a previous application that corroborated the story.

you were lucky. I had mine in there also in December 2015 and he rejected me. he asked if I have any relative in the US and I said NO, he just handed me the blue paper. surprised when you said people were much there today even as the dollar is not easy to get here in Nigeria. congrats to you.
