Thanks Top Mod.

Omo. Colin Udoh ehn. He is now clowning himself on X this morning claiming Osimhen's first goal was offside but replays show how close it was. At the point Chukwueze hit the ball, Osimhen was still locked in a diagonal run to stay onside.

This is a Journalist that said Nigeria is very very unlikely to qualify and infact said we will not and should forget it.

He even added QED. His text did not do anything. I can authoritatively tell you that.
I agree. NFF president was in the dressing room at half time, and told them they needed 4 goals.

I like the way the ESPN panel roasted Colin by sarcastically telling him his text message to a player on the bench was more important than Osimhen's 4 goals and reminding him of his previous stance that we wouldn't qualify for the play-offs.

Anyways, I'm glad he has been converted into a believer.

They were definitely an advantage.

But you also cant deny that you got a lifeline from our blunder , lack of VAR in the tournament and of ofcourse the Eritrea saga ?

And lastly, you can never fault us for capitalizing on our own advantages. Those stadiums were built with a future in mind, and part of that future is playing out now. We are surrounded by countries who lack such facilities and they have many citizens based here ,do you think they'd opt for venues away from the region ? Zim contemplated it but their fans fought them until they took their match to Durban.
Congratulations. Happy for you guys, and I hope we'd join you soon.

One love.

Please did NFF approach Noah Atubolu or did he rwject us? That guy no go ever pin down a starting place in Germany. He should come a help us and deliver us from Nwabali
The Wrexham goalie Arthur Okonkwo is another quality option.

Nwabali is a ticking time bomb so Chelle needs to scout for a goalkeeper urgently the way Peseiro scouted Nwabali.

Nketiah suits their playing style more than Inaki Williams or any other player they are parading in their attacking line.

Nketiah complements players like Kudus and Semenyo upfront. If they play any top quality team, thry will need that trio to make a difference for them.

If Nketiah is declaring now, it definitely because someone on the side of Ghana FA had been disturbing and pressuring him to declare for his motherland. I guess the world cup qualification just made the decision easy for him
Undoubtedly, he'd be a quality addition to the team.

My grouse with his declaration/switchof allegiance is the opportunism behind it, and the fact that he refused to commit before now. In fact, he turned down an invitation to play for the Black Stars in 2019 in favour of playing for England U-21., and in 2023 he bagged his first and only cap for England. Since then, England no call am, and that was the perfect time to have switched.

No be now wey others don do the hard work finish, and food don done hin go say hin wan switch allegiance to Ghana, and play for them. It stinks and rubs me the wrong way.

African Countries should not be second options, and fall-back plans for these dual nationality players when their decision does not work out. They should stick to their decisions till the end, and stop being parasitic and opportunistic.

Semid4lyfe, can you be gracious to point out what I posted openly that led to the ban by the Supposed self operating bot?
I shared a screenshot to prove you were banned by the anti-spambot. That you still refer to the bot as "supposed self operating bot" suggests that you believe otherwise. Kindly refer to the thread below to hear from the horse's mouth

The bot was programmed by the forum admin/owner and only he knows the words or phrases it flags as inappropriate.

The emboldened below is you falsely accusing the moderator(s) of tribalism, favouritism and being biased in moderating this section. I take that personally because I am the ONLY active Sports section moderator.

Everyone is allowed to freely express his/her opinion, and no one is banned for a "wrong" opinion. Also, debates get passionate sometimes, and insults fly in the process. It's all good natured banter, and you shouldn't take it to heart.

I rest my fingers, and will not be responding further to you. Continue to savour the victory and play-off qualification of the Super Eagles, and have a good night sleep.

I have seen that memo. That less than 5 is probably an error because all groups had 6 teams and Eritrea withdrew making Group E 5 teams.

Analysts concur that the striking off of points garnered by the 2nd placed teams from the bottom placed teams is gonna happen, and is the only fair way to balance out the groups and decide the four best 2nd placed teams.

Anyways, make we dey look

Is there really an Eritrean conundrum or we just dey whine ourselves

Read the 2nd paragraph that started with "In consideration of withdrawal "
There is an Eritrean conundrum.

All the groups have 6 countries and each played 10 matches except Group E which had 5 countries and each played 8 matches due to Eritrea's withdrawal.

Eritrea's withdrawal created an imbalance and the only way CAF can ensure parity and fairly determine the four best 2nd placed teams is to remove the points each of the 2nd placed teams obtained from the bottom placed team in the groups.

Firstly, I think you are mixing the farmer and the agro trader up. The person who sold the rice to you is not the farmer. That person bought from the farmer and brought it to your reach.

Also, I think the bolded is just the economics of demand and supply. Buhari banned importation, without ensuring that the local production can take care of the nation. That caused an imbalance in the demand, and obviously, the price goes up.

Your point is understandable, but it is not on the farmer, in my opinion
Many farmers are involved in the entire value chain of rice cultivation and processing in the state. Dem plenty for our rice mill.

In addition, I have a colleague who farms rice. When he cultivates his rice, and is ready to sell, he wil pick phone and call his contacts at the mill, and ask, "how much una dey sell CP, mass, 306 etc depending on the specie he cultivated, and the feedback he obtains determines how much he sells it out to the agro-processor.

monerozi5590:
How can you be importing maize? We are producing maize in large volume here.
What's the essence of digging up my old post? Anyways, it seems the point of my post flew over your head so make I break am down.

Yes, the state I reside produces rice so we don't consume imported rice in the state.
But when PMB banned the importation of rice, and the price of a 50kg bag of rice shot up to over 100k in the country, it had an effect on the price of our local rice too. The prices mirror each other, and follow the same trend only that the local is cheaper. For example, if imported rice is going for 130k, local rice will be 100k.

Also, note that when the price rose to over 100k per 50kg bag, the exchange rate was lower so invariably fertilizers and imported inputs were more affordable than now. Subsidy had not been removed then so fuel and transportation was cheaper too.

This begs the question, why was the local rice more expensive then when the factors of production were cheaper than now when things don cost? Then, I'll go to the rice mill to buy rice, and the sellers will say to me, "Buhari close border, that na why the price go up", and I'll reply "but this rice is produced here na". I later concluded it was the Nigerian factor.

Trust me, whatever the price of maize is right now, if PBAT bans the importation and we rely solely on local production, the price will triple in about a month.

Nobody dey chop GDP. I'll rather the government policy benefit the masses than increase GDP.
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga)Re: EPL Chatroom - All Discussions by semid4lyfe(m):
Buhari banned the importation of rice, and the rice farmers who applauded the policy, and boasted they had the capacity to meet local demand jacked up the price.

Then, fuel never cost like now o. Transportation too was cheaper, exchange rate was less the N1000 so fertilizer and other imported farm inputs were more affordable. .

Yet, wetin happen? Price of 50kg bag of rice went north of 100k, making it unaffordable for many Nigerians.

Many times, when some prominent peeps rail against a government policy, check well, na because their pockets dey affected, and not because they care about the common man.
