President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of Dr. Dennis Brutu Otuaro as Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP).

Dr. Otuaro holds a PhD in Comparative Politics & Development Studies; an MSc in Public Administration, and a BSc in Education.

He had previously served as a top-level executive of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) with a surfeit of experience across multiple sectors, including infrastructure development, security, environmental remediation, as well as oil and gas.

The President anticipates that the new Administrator will bring his requisite experience and know-how to this role to revamp the Amnesty Programme and advance the realization of its founding purpose and vision.

Except Dennis Idahosa withdraws the court case because if that case is allowed to proceed, he might end up getting victory. Reason being that APC declared the election inconclusive and not cancelled. What it means it that a supplimentary election is supposed to be conducted in those contentious wards. Dennis Idahosa having secured 40k plus ghost votes and declared winner by Uzodinnma, Monday Okpebholo is suppose to have scored like 50k plus voted to be declared winner. But he got 12k votes.

This APC situation is really dicey. But with Nigeria Judiciary anything is possible. If they can declared Ahmed Lawal and Akpabio as the valid in an election they never patook in what else do you expect.

Days after the suspension of Senator Abdul Ningi, Senator representing Yobe East, Mustapha Musa has been named as the new chairman of the committee on National Identity and Population Commission.

President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio made the announcement at the commencement of plenary on Thursday.

Senator Musa was sworn as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in February 2024 after his victory at the by-election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission on February 3.

Senator Musa replaced Ibrahim Geidam the current minister of Police Affairs who resigned from the upper chamber.
