Howbeit the first thing a Visionary Youth as President need to do is to change the present sick Nigerian constitution by all legal applicable means. We have a defective constitution that does not allow LGAs to control their allocation unless given directives by State Government which hinders the speed towards grassroots projects by well meaning LGA chairmen & counselors...in my LGA we wanted a recreational outfit put in place but the LGA chairman said we should go get our approval from the State secretariat! Imagine such complex process involvements!

Next is to create a single Biometric database that can store citizens information from childbirth....i can go on and on but I need to visit the thread more so im certain if such topic made front page some revealing inputs would have been put afore by so many brilliant NL members.

The reason why we don't have working refienreis is because subsides on fuel means that fuel is sold(and has been sold ) at too low a price to keep said refienreis profitable

Also, NNPC workers get paid whether refienreis work or not, since NNPC is a goviernment company. This has a wonderful effect on productivity.

NNPC also underpays the refienreis to process fuel, as part of the ways it keeps fuel at a low price , which does wonders for the profitability of the refinereis.





Dangote is building a refienry with 60-70% of the money coming in from loans from banks local and interantional. And the banks gave him the loans because if the refienry messes up, they just take over his other assets, and pay back their loan money themselves.

NNPC cannot do that because since 1988, they have been selling fuel at a price too low to keep their refienreis proftiably running. That is why we have bad refienreis.

But because Nigerians want cheap fuel....

And anytime government tries to do the right thing and remove fuel subsides completely, people protest. Right now, fuel should be costing above N300 per liter . Instead it costs N162 per liter. And even if we refined it at home, it would cost above n200 per liter if not more.

Wanted to respond to your delusions as response to my simple post again but your Moniker made me realize I shouldn't....

Fuel in Nigeria costs N162 per liter. In all the other countries mentioned in the article...fuel costs above N300. (In Cameroon, it costs ABOVE N400)

So tell me, how won't smuggling happen?

All because Nigerians want cheap fuel, meanwhile thanks to decades of cheap fuel, our refienreis don't work, and we are losing billions in forex subsidsing fuel for smugglers who 'export' it to other countries...fuel we import in the first place.

Subsidy has to go completely.

How do you justify an ill with another ill...SMH @your show of grand misplacement of what is wrong to what is right.
