SimonAndal: I could try writing it in Rails, but it gives me migraines. So sorry, you're gonna carry on without me.Try Python and CherryPy. Or C#, Mono and ASP.NET. Or Groovy/Grails, Java/Servlets. |
The Python programming language is not a snake. That's just a name. It's probably the easiest and nicest language. |
He was not a wise man by modern standards, and certainly not a good man. But the world was dumber then. |
You've been hired to teach Computer Appreciation at a local Secondary school for one term. During that term, you're expected to give the students 2 tests (15 marks each), one practical project(10 marks) and 1 exam (100 marks to be scaled down to 60 marks). Write a secure single user mini web application that you can use to enter each student's name and raw scores, calculate each student's total score for the term (a percentage), determine the position of each student in the class, and calculate the average score for males & females in the class. - Use mercurial, git or subversion for source control and post your solution on git/bitbucket/google-code!! - Write the application in any programming language or web framework of your choice (except maybe PHP?) |
People have died and some silly people are trying to feel superior? What if the well caved while you were fetching water from it? How do you avoid that? Wells are not supposed to be so flimsy. |
I answered the question concisely and so did many others. |
buzugee: 2 timothy 3 vs 16 All Scripture is God-breathedAre you saying King Solomon was God? |
Interesting. A Nigerian gave the idea for the mod, which suggests that it was meant to imitate Nairaland. Nice flattery! |
Can you be more specific about the concurrency problem you're trying to solve? New Nairaland uses DB transactions for concurrency, and it works well and scales nicely, too. |
I think this is an interesting idea. If I was in the healthcare business, I would investigate it carefully. |
Brite02: @seun, could use please dim the colors, they are too bright to the eyes, i had to keep my phone few centimetres away from my eyes. Please do something..What kind of phone do you use? The colors have been dulled and darkened considerably to satisfy users. |
Update us regularly, please. |
MRbrownJAY: i dont know if this issue has already been mentioned but there is a serious flaw when quoting: you can only quote ONE post at a time.We fixed that one yesterday evening. |
@ekt_bear: I can't help you if you refuse to tell me the truth. What you're describing is not possible. |
Or ensure that when someone clicks LOGOUT, their session is killed completely no matter where else your software thinks they might be logged in from.If we do that, it will be possible for anyone to log you out by posting an image with the logout url. My point is that your software is buggy...has nothing to do with the spiritualI cannot investigate the problem if I don't have an accurate description of what's actually happening. |
fransois_1: You ought to have given credit to the original writer of this piece... I guess copyright has no meaning to you.Chika Uwazie (aka NaijaCareerist) is the original writer of this piece. She wrote it for Ventures Africa and posted it here herself, including the original link. |
@dhtml: Which phone are you using? Which Browser? Can you try it in different browsers and tell me which one is ok and which one is not ok? Thanks. |
Moved to Nairaland/General |
Ok, I've done that. I've been using an Opera Mini emulator without problems, so I thought it might be something else. Does it work now? |
Anyone else having issues with the ₦ character? So far only one person has given us details of the problem. |
Oh, that's an anti-spam measure, actually. It limits the number of posts you can make in a short time. |
@Busy_body: I appreciate your feedback. |
What's the problem exactly? The server is busy error does not appear in New Nairaland as far as I know. |
yamakuza: tried clearing cookies? He has been logged in before new nairaland and he is still logged in, so the problem is spiritual. |
maclatunji: Seun, you know what? Let us try an experiment: leave Nairaland as it is and don't touch it, let us see it revert to the old Nairaland or change to a video sharing website by itself.A belief in evolution isn't necessary for atheism. I don't understand many parts of evolution and I don't care. But I understand that it's the most reasonable theory that's been proposed so far, and it's supported by lots of evidence, so I can accept it tentatively until further research reveals more facts to us. But you don't have to believe in evolution to be an atheist or agnostic, or to reject a particular religion. Atheism is not evolutionism. Even if evolution was proved wrong, that does not necessarily imply that the biblical account of creation is true. So your argument here is not really relevant at all. |
The salary is N1.8m to N2.0m per year. |
Which BB Model? |
Dual Core: On blackberry its .airaland, on android its the ₦airaland. This is an encoding problem. The character ₦ is a non-ASCII character. You are better off rendering the whole text as an image if you must retain that character. If it's a blackberry issue, we can fix that: 1) Which browser displays .airaland on the Blackberry? Opera Mini? The Native Browser? Both? |
So that's why he was took sides with the "common man" during the fuel subsidy debate. |
New Nairaland's theme is designed to be mobile phone friendly HTML, but some older WAP phones can't access HTML at all. For this reason, we've used the Google WAP proxy to create a WAP-friendly view of Nairaland for WAP-phone users. Visit wap.nairaland.com to see it. We want New Nairaland to work on every type of mobile device. (URL Corrected) |
*dhtml:Which phone do you use? Which browser do you use on that phone? When did the logo change to what it is now? |
Please tell me about the registration/ login area bug. I will like to have the full details, thanks. |
