If they hate us so much, why do they buy our movies? What they hate is our tendency towards crime.
And by the way, the world does not hate the people of USA either. The world hates GW Bush and his friends.
TV/Movies › Re: Catalina And Sebastian (C&S): A Telenovela On AIT by Seun(mod): 8:25am On Nov 01, 2007
Love doesn't make you stupid. Catalina is only that stupid because the soap opera will end too early if she's not stupid. It has nothing to do with true love or real life; it's just TV producers trying to make money. Not that there's anything wrong with that. cheesy

TV/Movies › Re: Writers Wanted: Let's Create A New Sitcom by Seun(mod): 10:06am On Oct 31, 2007
For the sample script, here's my suggestion: write a funny scene about an argument between a man and his wife about her best friend who is a man. The man wants to convince her to stop seeing him.
Health › Re: My Wife Has A Mental Problem by Seun(mod): 9:53am On Oct 31, 2007
If your wife has any problem, it's your duty to help her through it. Otherwise, what are husbands for?
Just make sure she takes her drugs regularly and try to show her that you still respect her.
As long as she takes her drugs regularly, she will be pretty ok. Modern drugs are usually much better.

As for the issue of bearing children, what do you think adoption agencies are for? Adopt a child, but not now.

The most important thing is that most of these things are triggered by stress:
If she thinks you are planning to leave her, she will only get worse. So you need to be a rock for her.

You live in Lagos; they live in Lagos. Why not just visit them? By the way, poetry isn't lucrative.
If you want to make money from your poems, meet a composer to turn the poem into a song.
You can sell your song to a performer with the perfect voice, TV shows needing theme songs, etc.
Why am I saying this? Because if they are not making money, they can't give you money. wink

Up to 1.3 million naira per annum (that is, up to 25,000 naira per episode). So, where's your script? wink
Travel › Re: Horrific Crash Involving Petrol Tanker On Lagos-Ibadan Road by Seun(mod): 5:40pm On Oct 30, 2007
If I'm not mistaken, the 'new Jeba road' you're boasting about is in the north.
The weather in the north is such that the roads need little maintenance, so they're better.

Yes, potholes are bad, but you shouldn't be behind the wheels if you don't know how to manage them.
Travel › Re: Horrific Crash Involving Petrol Tanker On Lagos-Ibadan Road by Seun(mod): 5:31pm On Oct 30, 2007
Well, as a driver, he should have seen the pothole from a distance, giving him enough time to avoid it. I blame him still.

Yar'adua alone cannot monitor all the roads in Nigeria. Yar'adua is not our daddy; he cannot do everything for us.

We have state governments, and we have local governments. We have the minister of transport.

We have individual drivers who are supposed to use their common sense when carrying flammable materials.
Travel › Re: Horrific Crash Involving Petrol Tanker On Lagos-Ibadan Road by Seun(mod): 5:11pm On Oct 30, 2007
Look, let's be reasonable. There's no road in southern Nigeria that doesn't have potholes. Even recently constructed roads have potholes; our weather is partly to blame. In the north, their roads are very perfect because it's dry.

As a driver, you're not supposed to overspeed when you're carrying several tonnes of petrol in your vehicle. And if you're not over-speeding, your vehicle is not going to roll over when you are trying to avoid a pothole. And even if your vehicle rolls over, the petrol it is carrying is not supposed to spill out if the container is well secured.

Drivers are supposed to practice something called "defensive driving", especially those carrying tonnes of petrol!

Leave Obasanjo alone. The tanker driver was obviously over-speeding. Didn't he know that the road had potholes?
