Here's my third answer to this question: the most important one is the one you lack!! ![]() If you are born into money but lacking in ideas, then ideas are more important. If you are like me and you spend all your time analysing various ideas and your head is overheating already, then money is more important. |
I agree. That woman Amaka Igwe has my respect. |
I think I want to buy the novel. Maybe one day we will be talking about movie rights. Proud of ya. ![]() |
Use Apache because I think it's more stable. Server performance really doesn't matter at all. |
The greatness of a nation is hinged on d willingness of its people to make appropriate sacrifices so as to lift the general good of d majority. the citizens (including all the leaders) must be willing to sacrifice their desires/ positionsThis is the rubbish that politicians feed us with so they can feast at our expense. Have you noticed that politicians never make such sacrifices? It's the idiots that follow them that "sacrifice" their lives for nothing. Look at Ojukwu, he is married to a former Miss Nigeria, while the millions who died because of his war are still dead. He is feasting while they are rotting in the grave. By sacrificing others, he gained fame unjustly. When someone asks you to sacrifice yourself for the "greater good", please know that you are being decieved. People exist to create happiness for themselves and those they care about. Everything else is deception. Look at G W Bush. American soldiers are dropping dead in Iraq, along with thousands of civilians, yet the man that lied to them to get them to "sacrifice" is in Washington giving speeches. So who is the fool? Nobody should be forced to "sacrifice" for a "greater" purpose. Personal happiness is the greatest purpose. |
"Osewa's law" states that every law is made to favor its creator(s). Long Form: When any group of people meets to create laws that are binding on others, the body of laws so created will invariably favor the lawmakers at the expense of the other people who have to abide by such laws. Short Proof: Every human action springs from self-interest, and lawmakers aren't any different. Therefore they will support laws that favor them directly or indirectly and oppose laws disfavor them directly or indirectly. A group of such self-interested lawmakers in a democracy will therefore only approve laws that favor the majority of them. This is true regardless of the integrity of the lawmakers in question, because even integrity comes from self-interest. Do you agree? Let's discuss! :-) Next: Examples and Applications |
I agree with you. Legitimate employers may use free email addresses for various reasons. |
Stop asking what your country can do for you and ask yourself, what can you do for your country. That's a silly statement because the country was made to serve people and not the other way round. The country is not a god that we must worship but an organization created so people can enjoy law and order. |
To blasterman: Yes. To twinstaiye: Your offer has been noted. |
You can't eliminate corrupt practices in a dynamic society. My contention is that the CBN didn't really intend to eliminate corruption by consolidating the banks, but to consolidate our economic power into the hands of a few individuals, deliberately or not. This 'consolidated bank' scandal supports my theory. The corruption they "weeded out" is still there! |
She's not interested in commercial work. Only in showing off! |
There seems to be some corruption in one of the CBN's 'consolidated' banks - Afribank. A major crisis reminiscent of the Enron saga is rocking Afribank Nigeria Plc as its immediate past Group Managing Director, Mr. Patrick Olayele Akinkuotu, alleges that the latest financial report of the bank for the year ended March 31st, 2006 is cooked. Akinkuotu in a petition to the regulators and the National Assembly titled: “Report of Conspiracy by the Board of Directors and the External Auditors against the Group Managing Director of Afribank – Urgent Need for Your Intervention to Prevent the Bank’s Failure,”’ a copy which was obtained by THISDAY, alleged that the results were manipulated by Afribank’s board and its external auditors –Akintola Williams Deloitte. The people involved are desperately trying to cover up the problem, using the CBN as an excuse. But the bank’s external auditors –Akintola Williams Deloitte, insist that their audit report on the bank’s accounts are a true, fair and accurate representation of its financial health for the year under review, stressing that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has given their job a clean bill of health. Also refuting Akinkuotu’s claim, Afribank’s spokeman, Mr. Lanre Alabi, said the bank’s accounts were in order, contending that if it were not so, they “would not have been approved by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).”Source: http://www.thisdayonline.com/nview.php?id=60782 Clearly consolidation and corruption are mutually exclusive. I hate to say I told you so. |
Give me 25 billion naira and Nairaland will be yours. |
Alas, errands in Port Harcourt and Abuja will be very unlikely but I'll contact you if they come up. Thanks. |
Ouch. 1,500 a day is peanuts? And then you will say there is "no job" in Nigeria. |
Yes. |
Hello Deji, This is to say that you're a VIsual Basic expert, right? |
Apologize? |
When I ask people to back up their claims, people say I'm authoritative. So this is a rumor too? ![]() |
Too bad the jokes are not original at all. |
That's more like what he should have said. Religion is mass delusion. It's for those who can't deal with reality. |
Am I seriously hurting my chances of getting someone by saying I only want a man? ![]() |
Oops, that's correct. Please forget about what I said. |
Go and start your own transport company. We need entrepreneurs and not talkapreneurs in this country. |
Nairaland is not as popular as either Google Video or Youtube, yet it is profitable. Youtube has more traffic than G.Video, but without an income stream this traffic is nothing but a laibility. Despite Google Video's relative unpopularity, it could have been profitable if there was a plan to that effect. Their inability to make Google Video profitable means that with the acquisition of Youtube they'll be losing even more money than they were losing before. |
@Rubbermaid: You haven't said anything at all. Does a country consist of the government or the people? If Ghana is so wonderful, why did 'we' have to force so many Ghanians to leave in the Ghana-must-go era? |
Relax, it's just a plastic puppet of the kind that's used in scary movies. What a funny prank! |
Here is an offer from that area: https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-27309.0.html That's a vacancy I posted ![]() |
Hello, I'm a self-employed webmaster, and I think I need a part-time assistant (male). Why? I've noticed that certain simple errands have become unbearably difficult for me. I need someone I can call on short notice and send to various places on my behalf. For example: - Meeting with advertisers or bankers or investors or reporters. - Finding suppliers and going to Lagos to buy things from them. - So many other relatively simple things that I find so tedious. The pay is 1,500 naira per day excluding transport allowance and other funds you need. Remember, this is a part-time job so you'll only be paid on those days when you are called. Hard-working OND holders and intelligent JAMBites are encouraged to apply. You must be male and in your 20s or below to apply. Sorry ladies. How to apply: - Send your application by email to . - Write whatever you think will convince me that you deserve the job. - Be 100% honest, because I need a trustworthy person. Thanks a million, Seun Osewa. |
Thanks a million for the info. I've checked all those online websites and none of them is selling a USB microphone. A USB microphone converts the sound into a digital format before transmitting to the computer, so one doesn't need a high-end sound card to get distortion-free audio. That's why I want it! |
