Brother you have already bought the tiles! Normally before purchasing tiles you look at your area of your own test or choice, rustic or maths surface or glossy, I will suggest removing the tiles is a waste of income, I prefer putting a center rugs on a busy side to save your income 😁and what causes it most especially is lack of maintenance, probably water spread in the floor is dangerous also banana, oil e.t.c ,in slipping down mostly children and old people oo

I recently had Goodwill super-polished porcelain tiles installed in my sitting room and lobby area. They were purchased by my tiler cos I was not around When I came home, I noticed that the tiles are quite slippery especially when wet. Since I have little children, I am worried about the potential danger. To avoid stories that touch, I did some research online and discovered that anti-slip solutions or stickers might help to make porcelain tiles less slippery. Has anyone here dealt with a similar issue? what did you use to make your tiles less slippery and safer? I need recommendations, please.

The cost of living in Bayelsa- Yenagoa- is UNREASONABLY high. It makes no sense because the state is largely undeveloped, there's little or no job/business opportunities. It's basically a civil servant state. The capital has no single oil company except for NCDMB which was recently completed by PMB. Electricity is very poor and there's no water. But to rent a single room self contained with modern facilities could cost as much as 250k. A room and parlour self contained could go for 350k. Houses with old facilities in slum areas could go for 150k and 250k for a single room and one bedroom respectively. Food items are also expensive. Only transportation is cheap in Bayelsa

I believe the purpose of this thread is to discuss anything and everything about building construction, but there are some construction gurus who will not contibute while others answer and discuss questions asked by construction novice. Excluding blocks used for foundation, what is the total number of blocks used so far for the ground floor. Also, how many blocks are you estimating for the first floor.

Apologies for the late response, have been a bit busy lately.
Yes, the german floor was casted in 2 stages since we had a step down level from the foundation work, that made it easy to cast it over 2 days.

The size of the german floor is 9.5m x 26.5m and the DPM material covered this. We bought 4 rolls of double layer nylon unlike the black one readily available in the market that comes in small sizes. I will have to check the nylon wrapper to get the coverage of one roll which is in grams anyway.

Oga spyder880 from my basic knowledge in physics i think differential settlement is when the foundation of a building settles unequally. My question is how do u avoid it happening in the future while building a house.

Why would such a massive crack occur in a building? The professionals in the house should please explain to novice (about to build) people like us.

Was the german floor was done in stages over a period of more than one day?
Secondly if u don't mind what is the total size and cost of the damp proof membrane (nylon)

Thank you. For the material, we did a bulk purchase of most of the materials used but I will try and do a breakdown based on usage
1. Granite - We purchased 30 tons and probably used close to 20 tons for the short pillars and german floor
2. Sharp sand - We purchased 20 tons and used it up, what's left is just little.
3. Cement - We used 82 bags using a mix ratio of 1:2:4

Try changing the entire orientation of the plan.

The kitchen is really far frm d dining & i think d visitors wc should be accessed from the terrace. Often times direct access from living room do give smell problem.
