Thanks so much for this detailed explanation. n3xt: If you haven’t started construction, you have to write an application or fill a notification to move to site form.
This is NOT done online. Neither will I recommend you to do it at any of their liaison offices.
The office of the DG is at Alausa. You can walk in to apply.
There’s a documentation which details your safety plan that you need to submit. Find out how you can do this from the office.
Further information that’ll be requested from you are: - the nearest police station to your site - the nearest hospital - and other important information regarding your project.
Tbh, these are very important things to do before carrying out construction on any project and Lagos State Government should be commended for this BUT this would have been more perfect if you can do it online without having to meet one Mr. ABC or Mrs. XYZ who will try to make the process difficult for you just because they want to make some money off you.
This is the reason why I recommend you go directly to the DGs office. |

Thanks so much for your response. By saying you need to apply and provide the following information with your approved drawings you mean applying online on their website or what? Thank you as you provide more insight into this. n3xt: I normally don’t like chooking mouth to wetin no concern me but this might help some people building in Lagos.
Apart from the safety documentation and certification fee, you need to apply and provide the following information with your approved drawings.

Thank you so much for this. I appreciate. rotecch77: Your architect, builder, engr needs to visit your site before any work can be Carried out on your site, that is the best practice.
Concerning the safety commission guys you talked about it’s there duties to make sure your site is safe for construction so you need document for that ..it’s around 200-250k that is the standard rate but you can talk to them So your site and workers must follow safety compliance rules |

Can you please explain what you mean by site investigation? I currently have some guys from the Lagos State Safety Commission on my site requesting that I get the project certified before I can start it. It is a residential project. rotecch77: Some building projects were abandoned till today bcs of site investigations, all was just on paper then boom work start on site …so site investigation” is paramount in anything construction.
We are here battling with our excavation.. N3xt don’t ask me if I have another Levelling instrument oo. It s good to have tools and instruments. |

Pls how much do the safety commission charge to bring a red taped site board to one site. One of the official is in one of site demanding that we go and pay 320k to the commission before we can start building.
Kindly enlighten me. |

@DrealGsam, I am happy to stumble on your thread today. Unfortunately for me, I did a borehole project on a site where we were about to start the building project. The project manager is considering buying a generator for pumping water to be used daily but I am personally convinced that there could be a better and cheaper to go about it if we search the internet hence the reason for stumbling on this thread.
My question now is how do we effectively manage the cost of pumping water daily as we all know that fuel is very expensive now and to get a reliable generator in Nigeria is another course work on its own.
Any help you can render or advice you can give will be highly appreciated.
Thank you, |

Hi guys, I am trying to buy a generator to be used at a building site mainly for pumping water. This decision is due to the high cost of renting a generator daily. Kindly recommend a good product to go for, that would be cost-effective and highly efficient. Also, a product that would be easy for the workers to put on without any hassle.
Thanks in anticipation for your candid response. |

A mail was sent to the Turkish airline Lagos & Abuja office on this issue and the response I got is that Nigerians are not allowed to transit through Singapore for now. Enginedrey: I think one needs to contact the immigration office in Singapore to verify this information.
Or perhaps go to the immigration officer at Lagos or Abuja airports for more information.
From what I know, a transit VISA is not required if you're not staying for long hours such as > 24 h (general information).
However, it pays to verify the information as suggested. |

When I went there in December 2021, I was told they are not receiving bookings yet so I had to book an appointment with IOM. You might want to confirm if they have start taking bookings for medical appointments @ Dr Fatai’s clinic. TheBoy95: Dr. A. A. If you're in Lagos, you can take the risk of going to their hospital to get a physical appointment |

Thanks for response, I really appreciate but I was unable to add my dorm account on kaoshi so to receive dollar will be impossible. My bank was not enlisted. Mike365: I do not know the rate barter uses. However, I'll advise you get a dom account and do it yourself. It gives you freedom and has more flexibility than barter, in the sense that you can physically go to the bank to get clarification. In terms of getting dollar, you can use Kaoshi network their rates are a bit better than your typical bdc. As at today, dollar to naira rate via that p2p platform is 560/561 |

Thank you for this response. Pls do you know the barter Naira to dollar rate for today? I am trying to weigh my options. Whether I should Fund by dorm account or use the barter. Mike365: By opening a domicillary account and using a debit card linked to that acct. However sometimes the debit card of Nigerian domicillary accts are restricted. Hence, you can link it to your PayPal account and use paypal You can also create a virtual dollar card via barter by flutterwave |

Thank you. Softkey: Yes your siblings can sponsor you. Even your aunt or uncle. The most important thing is you being able to prove the strong connection between you and your sponsor to justify the reason why S/he is sponsoring you. |
Travel › Re: General Australian Student Visa Enquiries Part 3 by seunfoster: 3:34pm On Dec 09, 2021 |
It does make sense, thank you. NB1912: There are two categories of sponsors;
1. Applicant, Spouse or Parent: They can show evidence of income that they earn at least $60k AUD/year or evidence such as a bank statement that shows one year of tuition fees and living expenses.
2. Sibling, Uncle/Aunt, Cousins or In-law : Evidence such as a bank statement to cover one year of tuition fees and living expenses. In most cases, the bank statement needs to be for at least 3 months and shows evidence of income.
Please note that for AL1 schools, you might not need to show any evidence of financial capacity when applying for visa, however, it is good practice to have it handy as the case officer can request for it at anytime during the visa process. I am sure a couple of people have mentioned in previous post on this thread where the case officer requested for an updated bank statement.
I hope that makes sense? |

Hello everyone, please I would like to know if sibling is acceptable as sponsor for VISA application. What I saw on the VISA application page talks to only parents and spouse. I did not see sibling anywhere in the evidence of financial capability section. Someone with most recent experience should help clarify if using sibling as sponsor is fine and it will cause no issue.

So guys I went for the vaccine today and it was as easy as stated by some people earlier in this thread. I did the registration online, paid #2,172, and printed out the payment receipt. I went to the federal ministry of health beside the toll gate at the MM Airport very early before 8am and I was the second person attended to. The vaccination started few minutes past 9am and it was done according to your queue number. This exercise can be completed under 5 minutes all things being equal. I heard some people are paying #8,500 for this same yellow card inside the airport. I can tell you that it is a waste of money and it is not necessary because you can do it yourself under 5 minutes. Some agents are doing it for #2,800 at the office which I think is still better than the #8,500 anyways. seunfoster: Please have you been able to get the Yellow Fever Card? what is the place and process like now?
