websitegurufix: Good day Dr. SeunH, I have used the calcium for 4days now... No improvement, what I discovered today was the leg that was affected, I pressed it hard and I discovered the dog felt serious pain from the bone. Good morning sir, you've done well, at this juncture, it's possible we are dealing with dislocation, sprain or fracture. I'll prescribe a pain reliever for you while you prepare to take her to the clinic for assessment and examination. DM me for the drug |

Lightorder: Pharmacist are in the better position to help more No my chief, pharmacists are not doctors. It is a doctor's duty to prescribe while the pharmacist dispense. Hence, the OP should visit a nearby hospital or clinic. In addition, I observed something on this thread, we Nigerians should learn to refrain from advising people on issues that is not our field, we will cause more harm than good. Back to the issue, it is wrong to pour powdered antibiotics on an open wound. Powdered Antibiotics is to be taken orally not topically. When you pour powdered antibiotics on an open wound, the powder would become dry and form a crust over the wound thereby providing a suitable environment for microbial growth which may hamper healing process. The fact that you've used it in the past and it worked does not mean it's appropriate. If at all you must administer a medicine externally to a wound, it should be medicines indicated for "Topical use" example GV, Oxytet spray etc. |

Pets › Re: Talk To A Veterinarian by seunH(op): 6:14pm On Apr 03, 2022 |
Ungodly: Thanks for the swift reply sir and No the dog hasn’t being vaccinated or dewormed Okay sir, let's do that first especially the deworming. It's best done in a vet clinic where appropriate steps would be taken. Pending the vaccination, you can get over the counter dewormer from a pet shop and also multivitamins especially vitamin C and B complex. I would have loved to prescribe a broad spectrum antibiotics to fight any opportunistic infection, but it's against our ethics to prescribe some particular types of drugs online, although it would be given in the clinic. All the above can be gotten in a pet shop or vet pharmacy |

Euphoria081: Good evening doc, please my dog sustain an injury, though is not that's severe, and I also applied some first aid treatment. But I was advised to get antibiotics. Pls which can I get that is effective in case of any infection. Good morning sir, if the injury is not severe as you mentioned above, then you don't need to stress yourself with buying antibiotics. Normally antibiotics are prescribed when the injury is severe in order to facilitate wound healing and prevent secondary infection. So put your mind at rest sir |

websitegurufix: Good day Doc. SeunH, My gsd gave birth today (5 puppies) and before i came back from church, she has killed 4 of the puppies (by bitten them to death) ... The remaining one is kept separate... I am danm sad right now.... What can i do to save the remaining one?? I bought nan milk and how am i going to feed her in a day?
Hope to hearing from you soon. I'm so sorry sir, please accept my sympathy. The decision you took was the best, which was separation. The next thing I'll advise you to do is to stabilize the remaining one by tender loving care while you get milk replacers. Meanwhile observe the mother and once she is calm, gradually introduce the pup under strict supervision if possible. I'm so sorry once again, it happens like that sometimes which could be due to stress on the part of the bitch |
