Politics › Re: Is Bukola Saraki Senate The Best Senate President Nigeria Ever Had? by seunH: 8:31am On Oct 16, 2023 |
happney65: He wasn't the best. The issue he had with his then party then,The APC was the one that made him look like a special person sort of.
If he were to be the candidate of his party for the senate president,he wouldn't have given the Buhari administration any problem whatsoever. But because he wasn't. He planned a civilian coup sort of. He was in their black books and they needed to remove him at all cost and he also dealt with them by denying them of critical bills and what have you
However, this appellation of "rubber stamp senate" isn't fair. Sentiments apart. You see even in the US. As the Dems are in control of the Senate. No matter what Biden brings to them, they will sign it. That is why the ruling party always want to control the House and Senate so the Executive won't have any problem passing laws. It is Politics and it happens all around the world.
But talking about the best senate president. I think the best is Anyim Pius Anyim. Dude stabilized the Senate president seat after, Late Evans Ewerem,Late Chuba Okadigbo, Adolphus Warbara were removed back to back.
I'll give it to him. He stabilized the seat till they left government in 2007 To buttress your point sir, if you remember the time the house of assembly wanted to impeach Donald Trump, despite been impeached by the House of reps (Dominated by Democrats), it was the Senate house (Dominated by republicans) that voted against his impeachment without even considering the evidence before them, would we then called them "rubber stamp". So sir you are so on point!!!! |

promise4040: I wish there is enough time for Atiku, he would have started with the GCE A-Level certificate which is without doubt a stolen certificate. Also, I wish the stuff from FBI about the DRUGGIE is ready, all these shits about him attending CSU would have been a thing of the past.
Because from what I see, the judiciary is in tinubu's pocket. He's stolen a lot of money to influence them. Even here on nairaland, his supporters here are just harping on the fact that he graduated from CSU and closing their eyes on other issues such as the fake diploma cert. and the stolen GCE.
Nigeria is at a crossroads, who can save her? So you are okay with another Fulani man to take over after 8yrs of Buhari, a fulani. Or do you realistically believe that in a one on one contest between Atiku and Obi, Obi will win |

SMILEBUX: Good morning Doctor my young puppy of 2 months have a bloated Tommy the puppy is aggressive when it comes to eating, please what can use to reduce the bloated Tommy. Thanks Good morning sir, Im so sorry about your pups condition, to be sincere the best advice is for you to visit a vet clinic in which they would use a stomach tube to release the gas once they have confirmed that it's a case of bloat. Meanwhile you can reduce food intake a bit and gently massage the stomach while you're preparing to take her to the clinic. I'll be on standby |

9182736455O1999: Hello. Please read through. I came home last month and met this litte dog in the house(a Nigerian breed) At first observation, the dog was too mild for an average puppy. She lack agility, very selective in her choice of food, doesn't bark and so on. Within those times she would always crawl close to the fire we make (firewood) outside the main house to warm up herself. it started gradually but it later turned to a habit because she couldn't do without being close to the fire. She would be shaking uncontrollably like she's feeling cold everytime she's not close to the fire. We later noticed some staggering movements from the way she walks, became worse as she sometimes fall while walking. Right now: *She can no longer walk. *Her legs are totally paralyzed. *From time to time she groans like she is in serious pains. *From observation, i think she'd partialy lost her sense of smell. *I noticed a little swelling under the snout very close to the neck. *She just lye helplessly on the floor and she cried the whole night Initially, i didn't had time for her, maybe because of her breed but i can't help seeing her current situation. Her stool is still normal and whenever we tried holding her, she shouts in pain and pee on herself. She doesn't have ticks but i see few of the normal lice. She tried eating something today as i previously thougt she'd lost total apetite. Please can you help in any way? Good eveing my dear brother I'm very sorry about the condition your dog is facing. My sincere advice is to keep him hydrated, warm and calm while you prepare to take him to the nearest veterinary hospital because this is a serious case,I will be on standby for update. |

Family › Re: Genotype Has Kept Some Of Us Single by seunH: 10:22am On Sep 01, 2023 |
Serendipity2023: One A turned to S, how? - Okay let me explain; everything about our body including our genotype is governed by proteins which are arranged in a specific way. Sometimes during pregnancy or exposure to harmful radiation/dangerous chemicals, these proteins may be affected or misarranged and this leads to a completely different type of protein. In summary, the difference between A and S is simply the difference in the arrangement of the protein that makes them up. |
Family › Re: Genotype Has Kept Some Of Us Single by seunH: 9:26am On Sep 01, 2023 |
Serendipity2023: Mystery Actually sir, originally, all genotypes were AA. But as a result of mutation which was passed on to offspring, one of the A in the AA changed to S hence we now had the AS genotype. Interestingly AS confers resistance to malaria especially in Sub Saharan Africa. That's why the genotype seems to thrive over here. |

People have tried harder than you in the past to smear the Optometry profession but they all failed. You are wasting you time and only making Optometry popular. Angelfrost: Bro, there is no confusion...
While UK may not officially ascribe Dr to Optometrists, that doesn't mean other nations don't.
Please, get the thrust of my submission here... We need to quit quibbling over what healthcare professionals or other professionals choose to address themselves as... Rather, focus on each profession.
Do you really think an average Physician in Europe or America is really concerned about who bears or doesn't bear the same Dr title as he does?!! Nah... That's the very least of their headaches.
What these people have been doing on this thread is insensitive and stupid... This is neither the place nor time for childish ego contests.
Let's focus on our professions and how to make them impact lives better, rather than being overprotective of mere titles. Sincerely, I agree fully with your submission. Truly we don't need all these squabbles because we all need each other. Cheers |
Crime › Re: Optometrist Died After Scuffle With Her Husband by seunH: 8:10am On Aug 08, 2023 |
Angelfrost: Don't mind these people...
It's only among low self-esteem and petty Nigerians you see such nonsense.
Even Veterinarians are fully addressed as Drs abroad... Try it here in this third world nation, and see our esteemed and all-knowing physicians embark on indefinite strikes. Sir I'm a bit confused here, there is no where in the world Veterinarians are not called not called Drs even in Nigeria. Since 1963 when veterinary medicine was founded in Nigeria, veterinarians have been called Drs, same with other African countries. We veterinarians don't problem with the title because unlike others except MBBS/Dentistry, our title isn't just a professional title, it describes what we do. But for optometry, some countries don't allow the Dr title especially UK, I guess that's where there is confusion. |
