In my opinion I think it's best you update before you start accumulating apps and files on the phone. It makes it easier to identify exactly what the problem is if any app starts malfunctioning. You don't wanna wait till you load the phone up with apps. Do it now when the memory is still clear, monitor your battery performance to know if there is any irregularity. If you are lucky like me, load it up with your apps and enjoy your phone.
Like I mentioned earlier, it's just an opinion.

I just got my redmi note 8 recently. Does your phone warm up? Mine gets to like 43 c degree under normal use. It feels hot even through the phone case with the cameras hot. Is this normal? Thanks

Lol. If you can't still have lil faith in Glo, call the customer care and table your issue. They will ask you some questions about your precise location, landmark amg Co, they will escalatento the nearest base station close to you. Truth be told, it could take about a week days or less to get resolved. If you are patient enough, it can be fixed. It's your call

Call 444 or 400, your issue should be handled there. If you didn't see 4g at all, it could have been provisioning issue. But you are seeing, so it's a network issue. Welcome on board
Confirm you have the right apn
Apn name: gloflat (no space, small letters)
Username: flat
Password: flat
Then restart the device
