The real employers will call you most of the time, and they'll always specify the position you're applying for in the sms or email they send to you. They also use their real company address too.

To add this, One of the most effective way to know if the company is real is their website/online presence (Just like the OP mentioned). If the company is so poor and invisible that you cant find them through google or vconnect or any other social network for that matter , then its a scam.
