Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Have You Deliberately Lost A Job Offer? by seunoni34(m): 8:01am On May 05, 2017
nenergy:
Years ago as a fresh graduate, i applied for the role of a merchandizer. I was invited for interview. I "googled" the word "merchandiser" and learnt that it was person who displays and sells things.

Ok, no problem. Displaying and selling things is not bad, so I thought.

The interview was going very well until I realized the job description involves wearing a branded shirt and cap, while moving with a vehicle and selling to passersby.

That's how I deliberately "shot myself in the foot" by saying my dream job was to be a seller at shoprite. grin

They thanked me for coming and I left happy.

Have you deliberately lost a job offer? Tell me your story.

I've plunged severally. Most times because of pay, hr attitude, work intensity or distance.

This is how this wicked men destroy our country, our nation with their greed.
Only God knw how many jobs Nigerian teeming jobless nd unemployed youths would ve gotten 4rm econet.
The countless opportunities we ve lost as a nation because of our greedy politicians.
I remember that mr Strive Masiyiwa had discussed this extensively on his facebook page about a year or two ago.
I always follow all his post and entrepreneural teachings. Very educative nd insightful. I recommend them for every entrepreneur out there.
It's just so sad we lost such a great opportunity as a nation.
he discussed it on his Facebook 2 years ago in one of his series about integrity. I love that man. Some people don't know he's one of the African billionaires. I'm surprised. They should Google his name to know what's up. He is a staunch Christian and a clean man!

Culture / Re: Oba Of Lagos Refuses To Shake Ooni Of Ife (video) by seunoni34(m): 2:39pm On Apr 26, 2017

There is no way oba Akiolu will compete on power block. I doubt it but there is something behind the action. All theories can be propounded and until it is unravelled. We will remain in darkness. And the issue, you mentioned isn't as damning as arresting a king at ILE IFE. All these issue look as if it is not real. I don't see any reason, OONI should be seen in every place. However, OBA AKIOLU's action is condemnable outrightly. But I maintained my stance that there is a conspiracy theory.
hmmn, let's watch and see how things unfold
Culture / Re: Oba Of Lagos Refuses To Shake Ooni Of Ife (video) by seunoni34(m): 2:13pm On Apr 26, 2017
Olu317:
Trade caution my dear, because, no one know the reason OBA OF LAGOS did such although there is no smoke without fire. It can't be ordinary for the OBA OF LAGOS to have been bittered in his HEART. I am tempted to believe, ILE IFE CRISIS could be one of the reason, if a Yoruba king was arrested at ILE IFE by DSS for not directly involved in a fight between YORUBAS and HAUSAS . Ooni's voice is too diplomatic over this issue. OONI isn't outspoken as he ought to be. No Emir or any Islamic leader as such can be arrested for crime committed in his jurisdiction without him being participant. It is totally despicable that it is happening in a era of a man, Yoruba massively voted in as President. And up till now, no known Fulani herdsmen marceneries have been arrested or jailed as need be. It seem OONI OGUNWUSI doesn't know his role as SUPREME KING OF YORUBA. Perhaps, OBA of LAGOS isn't happy about his role in the issue at ILE IFE. It baffles me to see or bring out any sane reason, OBA OF LAGOS, will do such a thing without any concrete reason. OOni need set up and be more proactive to his calling. So, was the other time, OONI went to LONDON to collect tithe or offering in a church. This is totally out of BOUND for him. OONI can bow to GOD but collection of offering or tithe doesn't MEAN OONI IS HUMBLE. Infact ,money is the root of all Evil. However, it may be another issue but I truly don't expect such attitude from OBA OF LAGOS is outrightly unacceptable in YORUBA LAND irrespective of OONI's action in recent times.
What did the oba of lagos do to curb the crisis between hausas and Igbo at mile 2 last year? Even if they had a fight initially, this display is wrong on so many reasons. BTW as yorubas, we all know ooni is more powerful than oba of lagos, even alaafin of oyo is equally more powerful than him too. His gesture was just too disrespectful.
Webmasters / Re: The Stages Involved In Creating A Dope Website by seunoni34(m): 7:18am On Apr 26, 2017
bestspoke:
Most designers skip creating wireframes because they like editing templates and not really designing. This is an integral aspect of preliminary design plan. Even its just a sketch of boxes and placeholders you can efficiently plan the layout of the contents supplied by your clients. It ultimately speeds up the design process since it serves as the laid down plan for your design project.
It's not every client that wants you to create something from scratch. Most especially when you're dealing with a numb(in naija) . Most of them always have something in mind and once they see a design that looks like it they are satisfied. That's why I prefer using templates, except the website is a service based one (with cms, admin etc) and design isn't a priority, then I use wireframe to create the designs.

Utterly disrespectful! That is what you get when you make a tout an oba. Ooni has more class than him. The shame and ridicule is on him now not the Ooni. He is just jealous!

Bros, I was once in your shoes. I understand that drive to become the next mark zuckerberg and own a few billion $$$ but shut it now and look for something productive and helpful that solves a common problem to build.

When Mark built Facebook he saw a common problem of lack of connectivity and he solved it.

I'm sure if I ask you why you built this program it's most likely because you just want us to have a "Nigerian" version, whereas the original Facebook allows every country and have even incorporated yoruba, hausa & Igbo languages.
So in your own best interest, put a halt on this ambition as its already dead on arrival. We have a social network and if it's the forum feature - we already have nairaland. There are more than enough small business solutions that you can develop and make money

Programming / Re: How Much Will It Cost Me To Design a mobile APP In Nigeria by seunoni34(m): 2:45am On Mar 08, 2017
OTRebirth:
On behalf of the top developers in the house, you will need to have 80k and above(depending on the functionalities), then the big devs will handle the project for you.

Expect nothing less than 40k to 30k if you have a small budget and you want to hire small devs
80k for apps? Are you alright? I charge a minimum of 100k for ordinary web design(with no coding) talk more of apps. And I still think that is small compared to what my colleagues charge. @emmatdayo the average budget should be 180k and above for a basic android app and 250+ for a basic ios app . App is not beans, it's not a website that you can build and leave for 1 year and still meet it there, functionalities change, apis change, OS configurations change and you have to be ready to pay management fee per month so your developer can monitor and update the app where needed. Any developer that charges you 80k will run away with your money and build crap for you.

Let me be honest with you, app development (including software and web development generally) takes time and patience. If you want a developer to do a good job for you, pay good money. Don't look for cheap developers, they will do your work once and run away from you when problem comes, infact there are developers that'll offer to do it for 40k self if you want something cheaper. But remember the lesser the cost , the lesser the commitment and seriousness attached to work.
Lastly, Cheap things are not good and good things are not cheap.
