OPEYEMIAD:You would be surprised that with some effort vb6 code can be ported to work with .Net Runtime. I have seen many projects port old languages to the .Net runtime. |
OPEYEMIAD:.Net is a runtime. You dont need to buy a newer version every year except the runtime has dramatically changed(Happens once in very very many years). Most time the newer runtime is always backward compatible with older versions. Also go and check facts well. I think most microsoft applications today run on the .Net platform. |
dhtml18:Bros i suspect you ohhhh. You no get code you just they create propaganda. I minus one from ya name:dhtml17 henceforth. |
Dont worry guys i can ask you this project will commence in about 6-7 nav page links from now. That maybe 2-3 months of nairaland lifetime. Just be patient biko nu. |
Chappie:FunXMPP is not xmpp just a derivative. XMPP is a specification and funxmpp does not follow that specification. |
New members can join the class now. |
Chappie:Wrong. Whatsapp is built using a derivative of XMPP that does not follow the XMPP specification. Its call FunXMPP. You can google that. But nice try anyway. @chappie Sorry are you chappie as in the movie ? Welcome to Nairaland ohhh. Please dont destroy us ohhhh. How is your artificial intelligence learning coming along....... ? |
If you are interested in joining our class. It starts by 9pm. Monday to Friday. |
pseudonomer:Python is not old at all. Its a very modern language. Its one of the most versatile languages i know. I can most nearly do the impossible in python and in record time too. |

Hi guys, i started a free training on whatsapp with a Nairalander. Thinking of making it a group. If you are interested post your email and i will contact you on how to go about joining the group. Its open only till tommorrow. Requirements are you need to have pc to work with or any device you can code with. |
Suitable venue and price. As this is a very first we would also require your help in publicity. Tell your friends and if we are sure we can get enough people. I will contact you and we can proceed. |
I assume they are impostors?? Or are the originals?? |
NormalCodes:I think this may not always true. I know a lot of programming languages and found Java to be toughest to learn. Took me more than 3 years to understand it well. The challenge with Java was that you had to do things properly. Although Java has gotten better since when i learnt it(JDK1.2) but i think its idea of OOP is a step higher than found in python. Python does not compel you to use OOP concepts although indirectly you are working with OOP, however you cant code Java without OOP. IMPOSSICANT. |
@AkunneObinna I don wan you now ohh. Den den i go tell teacher for you. The last bad guy for nairaland wey try me. Go ask about am na wan boy wey dey call him self hacker(@slyrox) i show am pepper well (I understand both the software and the protocols. Hackers use the tools but i can use and build their tools(A step higher)). He come beg me finally. I go blow you ohhhhhhhhhh. |
AkunneObinna:See i no say i no sabi anything. But na you carry last. Abi no be dey wetin inside ya report card. See as red biro full am. ![]() |
lordZOUGA:Well, its very powerful because it allows for flexibility. Most newer scripting languages implemented this after python. And if am right some of the more powerful languages tried too but because of specification wahala they had to halt it. Note java and the other powerful languages are governed by boards that need to approve features into what we regard as the standardized form of the language. |
Anybody wey know @AkunneObinna make dem tell am say i dey wait for am for backyard. If i no beat am today, my name no be Seun Jiggi. See him face. Ojugo. |
@AkunneObinna Guy you don vex me. Infact come out. I go nearly beat you today. If you know say ya name na obinna comot your cloth ![]() ? |
dhtml18:Post, i got your back. Dem no born dem......... I make myself the official police of this thread. Anyone wey contest that position make he tell me the protocol for whatsapp See no answer. |
AkunneObinna:Drunkard you want a challenge?? Its seems you have taken something really cheap. |
ehnn My people, i don come back. Una never see code?? Oga dhtml18 you dey play wayo ohhh. If i no see code before friday i go minus 1 from you so from saturday you go become dhtml17 and na every day i go dey minus ohhh. |
@omoelu1 Is absolutely correct. Dog.bark = "bark" is a class variable created at runtime. One of the powerful features of python. |
Who knows the name of the company that developed the BVN portal?? |
Can anyone verify this guy too +234 813 455 4642. Thats his number. His whatsapp is Bulkshare. |
javadoctor:Good job this will fail if chrome is not installed on the system(Many new systems dont have chrome). import java.awt.Desktop; import java.net.URI; jButton1.addActionListener(new ActionListener(){ public void actionPerforned(){ // execute bash script //String command = "chrome http://www.google.com"; //new ExecuteShellCommand.executeCommand(command); if(Desktop.isDesktopSupported()) { Desktop.getDesktop().browse(new URI("http://www.example.com")); } } } //CREDIT GOES TO javadoctor: ); |

If you are really interested in being co-founder in a messaging startup like "Whatsapp,Viber,Snapchat", contact me and lets discuss. I have a working solution but i dont have time to run it as business model. Please only contact me if you have the passion to push this idea to its full capacity as well as raise funds for running the biz. |
Myhelper123:I assume what you are describing here is a message queue(non socket based). The advantages of a message queue is that their is very little latency(time to fetch the data over the network) as the application can just request data from the necessary process. However it has significant drawbacks like data corruption(were the data in the storage process is corrupted). Also the architecture needs to be properly done or else there maybe race condition scenerios where multiple processes or threads try to reach the data in the storage process and are blocked. In order to understand what you want better i would need you to describe examples of this application. |
AkunneObinna:See this guy man ohhh??. Who asked for your reasoning. Infact i no dey go again. Na you get tread. Come push me comot na..... |
