And it could be a mix of all. There is also a general belief that engineers are eating money and so the finance or management guys refuse to release money for critical repairs. We also have the scenarios where someone in management has a friend who can get it done for a fraction of the cost.

I remember one time when this ediat cfo called one electrician to do quote for a job in our terminal. It is a delicate balancing act because if you comot hand and there is now an incident, the same management will still come after you.

I have said multiple times when you have a major incident, it was always preceded by minor incidents. The number of failures you need for a lift to fall all the way to the floor without even an emergency brake kicking in. This is criminal negligence.
