Kinkwin: Thanks for your response , but am particular about the discripances in his statement , like I said he has a good explanation for it , would it still be an issue ? And he is going for the 2years tourist visa application. It might be an issue, although it’s just a slight possibility the ECO could think he has lost his job and is planning to jaapa. Why doesn’t he just wait until he is paid before applying? So as not to leave anything to chance? |

Killingmesoftly: Happy new week mates. Please I need your assistance. My sister inlaw brother was denied a UK visa and he wants to reapply soon. Please I will like to know the main reason(s) he was denied. He wants to write and explain in details why he was refused. Please I need comments on the reason why refused. Was he refused based on personal and financial circumstances? I will appreciate comments, advice and how to go about the refusal. I.e what to write. In addition, there was a letter given to him by his company on the trip as the best staff of the year during the AGM. (Annual general meeting) . The CEO of the company usually gives award in form of travel incentive according to what he explained to me. He attached the letter in his previous application but did not explain to ECO that the money was given during AGM. The letter he submitted only stated that: As a result of your good outstanding performance the company av decided to send u on a four days trip to the uk...... Please I will appreciate your contributions to make the second application asuccessful. Thanks He went about it the wrong way. He should have had the company write a letter taking full sponsorship of the trip and used the company’s bank statement as proof of funds. Then there would have been no need for them to transfer the funds into his account (ECO would have just seen it as lodgement) |

Oronto: before you post anything for sale.forget how much you bought it then.try to get current market value before you fix a price.who will buy a used 4 seat glass dinning table for 80k.when new one is cheaper. It’s funny how some people reason; They think becos they bought an item (example) for 150k five years ago, that they’d be able to conveniently sell if for around 70/80k today without realizing that the price of that item (brand new) could have fallen even less than that in the market due to advances in tech or supplies.. It’s like saying you want to sell your MTN line now for 5000 because you bought it for 28,000 back then.....Sorry, it ain’t gonna work. Like Oronto said ur prices should be based on the current market price of the new one (like half of it) |

kudsweet: Good day all the gurus here.
I have a question which is confusing to a friend.
She has a B1/B2 visa which she, her spouse & 2 children got mar h this year. They are yet to travel due to personal reasons. Now, the wife is few months pregnant & she intends to deliver in the US, but the visa was for vacation. My question goes thus; 1. Is it advisable for her to first visit US, get registered to a hospital then comes back to Nigeria. When the due date approaches she travels again to the US to deliver? 2. Is it necessary to write the US embassy at Nigeria her intention of giving birth in the US even though when she got the visa she wasn't pregnant. Will that suffice to avoid any interrogation at POE?
Also, please advise what is best to do as she intends giving birth in the US despite visa validity running out.
Thanks Option 1 please |

justwise: You don't apply for visa today and meet the requirement tomorrow, if you submitted bank statement declaring that you have the money for the trip then decided to withdraw that money after submitting then that is a misrepresentation because your condition is not as you stated.
That is a fraudulent practices. You seem really bent on making a mountain out of a molehill here. Are there not people who have been granted visas without enough money in their accounts? Where the ECO decided to grant them visas based on their inflow & outflow plus other factors on their application eg travel history, family ties, occupation etc. Are there not people who have been denied visas even with fat account balances? The account balance is just 1 of the factors, it’s not necessarily a determining factor all the time.. That said, would you tell me not to withdraw the money in my account if I have some pressing needs just because I have applied for a visa which I plan to use maybe 3months later? Even when I know that I can raise the funds for my trip in those 3months...? There are a lot of reasons why someone may have to use the funds in the account temporarily.... Not everything or everyone is fraudulent... |

Politics › Re: Fuel Scarcity Looms As Oil Workers Give FG 7-Day Ultimatum by shawlar(m): 8:42pm On Dec 03, 2018 |
theoldpretender: No.
Have been following the subsidy issue since the early 1990's...and like most Nigerians blamed government and the marketers. I even was one of those who called a certain Minister who stated that fuel was cheaper than cocacola in 2006 names.
However, since 2011...I have been educating myself more about the issue.
The problem is, marketers import fuel at N180 perliter....and sell it at N145 perliter. Meaning they lose N35 per liter of fuel sold.
Normally, government is supposed to pay the N35 difference, but due to low oil prices (keep in mind that Nigeria needs to seee crude oilprices at $140 per barrel to run a balanced budget...and right now.....fuel is low)....they cannot keep paying that money. (Corruption too makes the matter worse).
So marketers , facing an end of year loss that might force them to SACK WORKERS engage in scarcity...so that they can force government to pay up...while they also do things like selling oil to black marketers who sell it at a higher pricefor them, smuggle it to countries like Niger and Benin where oil is sold at a much higher price.....so that they can make money to keep their businesses above water.
That is why I think oil subsidy should go. Unless...you people want government to start taking more loans. You really need to educate yourself a bit more. Since last year only NNPC has been importing fuel into Nigeria. NNPC only uses the depots of some marketers to distribute the fuel at the regulated price. All loses are borne by NNPC as ‘under recovery’/“subsidy”. The money these marketers want is part of those that were falsely claimed during the subsidy scam era where marketers declared cargo that was never imported or that was imported, sent back and ‘imported’ again (thereby claiming double subsidy on the same cargo). They also want forex differentials meaning that govt should pay for their exposure to forex fluctuations.. Abeg how many private businesses does govt do that for? |

veleta: On this discount ish, most of these VO's don't seem to understand how these things works.First off, those of them saying they paid 30k or thereabouts failed to mention that their insurance companies took care of that and most times, these insurance companies negotiate these fees to the barest minimum and most times times,it takes time for them to pay.Its common sense that these hospitals would prefer self pay patients as they get their money immediately. These same discounts they give to self pay patient is what insurance companies end up paying after quoting outrageous bills.
My advice will be when requesting cost of delivery from hospital, insist that it should be included that whatever fee they are charging is for self pay and that you reject any form of medical assistance. Also make sure you sign it,with that your argument when going for visa renewal will hold water. There is also the time-value of money.... I don’t think those insurance companies pay the hospitals immediately so I am sure the hospitals would add inflation costs (interest) to their billing. It simple.. |

Vlesparza: This is EXACTLY correct. Bravo to you Sir/Maam, you seem to understand what the VO's are pretending not to understand. I like the way you put it. The VO’s are all simply pretending not to understand and using it as an excuse to deny people visas. If the discounts are truly an issue and they really don’t understand it, it shouldnt take them an hour of research or phone calls to get the true picture of things but they have deliberately decided to feign ignorance about the whole thing.... |

Fyorgyn: Phew...
I have always wondered if having an American child is really worth it on the long run. I was speaking with my American colleagues and all three of them were just complaining...(these are "privileged" very well educated Americans with good jobs)
The inequity and high cost of health care in the country. the loans...huge huge student loans they are saddled with... the over reliance on "credit"... the taxes...the fact that my child will always pay taxes to the US govt wherever he lives in the World. T
Is it even really worth it?
I mean, yes, the passport allows you to travel visa free to many countries but what else? I am sure alot of us have pondered the same thing before, but the truth of the matter is nobody is sure if it will be worth it on the long run but it’s still a good thing to give our kids that option. The blue passport opens up a lot of doors to them; visa free travel to a lot of countries, greater chance of receiving work permits & living in other countries which could translate to more job opportunities etc. For instance, this kind of situation we are in Naija where everyone is hightailing it out, imagine if your parents had gone this way & gotten you a blue passport. you’d just stroll out, no need for all the ietls, skilled workers entry, PR wahala. Plus it’s only an option for our kids, they are free to renounce the citizenship when they are 18 and just be Nigerian (I can imagine the kind of swear their own kids would swear for them if they get to know) |

These people don't even know what they are doing.... It's not the job of any police man to check the 'tools' in your car. Police job stops at the checking of your vehicle papers. LASTMA also isn't empowered to check your vehicle's equipment, only FRSC has the right to do that.. If a policeman wants to start checking your tires for validity or if you have razor blade or flashlight , just quickly tell him that's not part of his job oo cos he's just looking for something to extort you with. These guys are just looking for avenue to enrich themselves. Imagine putting blade as list of tools for your car.... If they now find u with a blade, they would say you are in possession of a dangerous weapon |
