Timi1990: Please invest that your $500,000 in Nigeria than dashing it out to American govt all in the name of citizenship & green card . Have you wondered why the likes of coscharis, Okoya, ibru , adenuga, Otedolaetc didn’t do that ? You can never have equal right like born citizens of the USA . Some people try it but it doesn’t really pay off Lol... all these people u mentioned don’t even want US citizenship n green card.... I think the US is the only country that taxes its citizens based on their income worldwide ie Anywhere in the world you are making money, Uncle Sam must have a piece of it... Do you think Dangote, Otedola etc would want to be paying as much as 25% of their earnings as tax? Some top us millionaires/billionaires are even renouncing their US citizenship and moving to other countries just because of the tax system |

Travel › Re: The Cost Of Fueling A Plane From Lagos To London by shawlar(m): 10:28pm On Sep 13, 2018 |
emmy9500: The Boeing 747 will take an average of 500 passenger and average price of flight to London from Lagos is ₦200,000. That means the airline operator's makes ₦100,000,000 from a flight ,when fuel and maintenance costs have been removed I believe they will still make huge profit axponline: It takes approximately 80-90 passengers on that route to cover fuel costs. I have used approximations which may be off here and there. Pardon me. one way ticket price .. aprox $400 = N144,000 @360 to 1 number of passengers to cover cost of fuel = 12,500,000/144,000 approx 87.
i.e it takes 87 passengers paying $400 each to cover the 12.5m for fuel. Typically, a full load for a 747 is about 300 passengers. Therefore, a full load on that route will generate 300 * 144,000 = N 43,200,000
There is money to be made if an airline is run efficiently and continues to attract satisfied customers. 1kingwriter: Boeing takes about 396 passengers Each paying €493
If you add it up, a full flight nets about - N93. 7 million
Bros, the N12 million cost of fuel na change oooo You all are forgetting all the extra costs the airlines incurr; landing fees, ground crew salaries, air crew salaries, food, maintenance, insurance, airport handling charges etc etc... All in thousands of dollars.!! Let’s not even add the initial costs of buying or leasing the aircraft. Airlines all over the world struggle to make profits, in fact most of them are in debt and are just keeping their heads above waters |

metronaija3: Theresa May, the British Prime Minister stormed Nigeria on Wedneday wearing a designer jacket from the stable of Emmy Kasbit, a Nigerian designer.
Information on the website of the designer indicated that Emmy Kasbit was launched in January 2014 by its creative head, Emmanuel Okoro.
The fashion house said brand was birthed out of its passion to clothe the unconventional man and woman who likes to think outside the box and who are willing to defend their outfit as being deliberate and not accidental.
“With its design aesthetic being clean and architectural cuts, Emmy Kasbit paints the picture of a fashion-embraced man and woman who build their outfit to fit into the environment which in turn fits in!,” the company said.

Xtruzz: I understand your view point and i also feel your grievances. One thing you should note Is, there is an act that establish DPR. Slotes for Ex directors are incorporated in the act. Their slotes are quite diff from slotes allocated to that state. I seriously doubt if there is any such clause in the DPR act which gives room for nepotism like you suggest. Nepotism, in any form is criminal in nature and it can not be written in any law |

Gemini13: This whole process weak me. It is bad as in very bad enough that stakeholders get as much as 200 slots meant for the common man. This is infact injustice in its highest form.
Now the union is fighting for their own benefit which might be selfish if you ask me.. Seven months after interview and this is what we have. The Nigerian system is highly flawed and nothing to write home about.
If Eh has issues why not continue with the GT since they have already started making contacts. @bolded I thought so too until Someone helped me find out what the real issue is. Let me just say the union is fighting for all the current dpr staff and it cannot b said to be selfish. You prob also won’t like to work in an organization for 10years and find out that you can’t be promoted any further becos the management has hired people with lesser years of experience to fill the slots above you which you should be promoted to. These people with less years of experience are most probably younger than you and will be there while you attain retirement age and leave.. |

Yesterday was a good day..... congratulations to all that have collected their APLs or received calls to come collect..
It seems there was a record set yesterday as we added 13 new pages in just 24hrs. That would seem good but most of the pages were filled with mostly repeated and annoying questions... Someone would announce that he’s received the call and gbam....!! Questions galore....
Where did you have your interview? Where did You write your test? What’s your discipline? What’s your state of Origin? Does your name start with O or I....? Did they call or text you...? (After the person had clearly stated he was called) What time were you called? Did they speak English when they called you? Have they finished calling? Did i you graduate with 1st class or 3rd class? Is your LGA near the border...? Are you male or female? etc etc etc.....
You guys should all just chill and keep praying you’ll be called.... Trying to figure out the pattern of the calls is just increasing the pressure on yourselves No one here knows the pattern in which their calling successfully candidates. It could be by their age or even cgpa..... You all shouldn’t even be bothered about that, just pray that you receive your own call before the end of the week!! That’s all..!!
As for those who come to share their good news here, pls provide answers to the all above questions along with your announcement so as to forestall any unnecessary back and forth. This thread should not just be unnecessarily stretched. Thanks

Madam, this your story holds no water here oooo. If victimization is the case, why weren’t the last recruits victimized in spite of all the moves they made to get their APLs released. I’m so sure of this cos I know someone that was employed back then and all of them receive their promotions and entitlement as at when due. They people that want to protest are not going to carry placards with their names on it neither should they be stupid enough to collect attendance and submit to the dpr management. It’s not as if we are going to be unruly or cause a commotion or do aluta there, it’s just a peaceful gathering of people with a common interest who want to make sure that their rights are not trampled upon. We need to find out what exactly is going on and why things are being done in this manner. And if anybody wants to mark sum1’s face and punish him for speaking out, let them go ahead; at least they can’t be there for ever - in another 5 years max they would retire and that is even if God keeps them there as a boss till that time sef. People like nevermind and pressurization who are evidently close to the happenings at the Lagos Headquaters are raising the alarm that things are going wrong; that we should form a collective and speak with one voice but becos you have collected yours you don’t want the boat to be rocked. abegi!!!! In the recent China Railway/Ministry of Transport saga, if the people didn’t speak up that is how only connected people would have gotten the jobs which was meant for the general populace. fachuba: Hello ladies & guys. I want to say something about the new move for the protest Let's not become enemies to our bosses before we meet them Let me share a personal experience.
In conclusion, I'm not saying you shouldn't carry out your plans. But if you're sure, that's your instinct is telling you that you will get this job please just hide your face. Just help ur career start on a good note to enable u mentain such without much stress. If you've not worked in the civil service before & you're also agitating for this protest, just stylishly withdraw so that u don't have to verbally curse yourself after bringing frustration upon yourself due to your actions. All the best to us all |

As for the EH, what I heard is that there is some discord as to what position or Grade to place them on. The dpr management wanted to place some new EH on a level where they would have affected the promotion prospects of some of the current staff. The staff union kicked against this and the management is trying to resolve it. Have no idea how |

Onyiridike: From experience, Nigerians do not have dignity again. Many people now take pride in having connection with prominent politicians and even use it to intimidate others. You will be surprised... People with connections only make noise when they are sure they are surrounded with ‘unconnected’ people. When they know they are with fellow connected people, they just maintain themselves because where your own connection end fit be where another person own start from ie ur highest connected person could be the least for some others |
