If there's a fan, then it's possibly broken or not working efficiently. The problem could also be, poor CPU-Heatsink thermal conduction.

Yes, you do need to see an engineer.

A few days ago i posted this issue

I still don't know what is causing this or what to do.
I've checked the vents, no blockage. Hot air is what blows when it is working. The heat can burn somebody.
Now i'm scared cos i don't want it to damage the laptop board. Where can I get a good engineer to check it out, What could be wrong with it and how much will this likely cost? Its an intel core-i5 please. I will appreciate urgent response. Thanks

Use the recovery file that was created when the encryption was done. If you don't have that either, you're out of luck. Reformat the computer.

Are you sure that you got the appropriate charger?

Try a hard reset. Disconnect the charger, battery and any connected peripherals. Press and hold the power button for about 30 secs. Reinstall the battery, power on the system and immediately press the appropriate key to get into BIOS setup. In the BIOS setup, navigate to the exit tab and restore setup defaults.

I my laptop charger blew up sometimes ago but it was not plugged into the laptop..since I bought a new charger ,anytime I plug in the laptop it won't show the blue charging signal light and the laptop will automatically startup and booth itself...its an HP NOTEBOOK COMPAQ 6720s
is there a solution to this problem?

Clarify your answer. "Both battery powered and AC powered" could mean, with both the battery and charger connected.

Have you tested with only the battery connected? And with only the charger connected? Two different scenarios.

it happens on both battery powered and ac powered . It can't even play music for up to 15 minutes. I can't even do my assignment on it.

You should have tested the computer yourself with another charger first, before deciding to take it to an engineer. Most times, it's just a case of a burned charger. Who knows what the engineer has done to your laptop now!

Ok then, perform system restore to an earlier date. Power on the system and immediately press f8 to access Advanced boot options. Select 'Repair your computer,' and follow the prompts to perform system restore.

This is not a BIOS password issue. The HDD is encrypted. You do need to enter the password to login, and then disable the feature in HP security manager or something like that.

System specifications? When did you start noticing the issues?

Startup repair is usually meant to fix problems preventing you from booting into Windows. From what you've said, the problem might have something to do with corrupted system files. Try sfc /scannow from an elevated command prompt.

Examine startup items too from the startup section of Task Manager or msconfig, depending on your OS version. Again, state your system specs.

Starting up is very slow and when it's done, it is not responding as it should. Opening a page or an application takes another long time!
I tried the start up repair, but nothing changes, instead most of my applications(Firefox, chrome, word etc) were not opening, they were displaying something like an Zoom error or so!
It's a hp mini laptop!

Try Windows Update.

Have you tried to install the printer directly on the network?

Hi guys. I have a HP Laserjet p2055 printer in my office. It was supposed to be plug and play. Upon plugging it, it showed installing driver. When completed, the printer displays "driver is unavailable". I've spent six weeks searching Google for the driver to no avail. I've also tried "adding a printer" from control panel, that's one is not even coming up.

Can anyone help me? I use a Windows 8 system

No overheating? No error message displayed on the screen before it trips off?

You may need to examine system logs in Event Viewer.

In the meantime, try a hard reset and see what happens. Remove the battery, disconnect the charger and any peripheral device connected to the computer. Press and hold the power button for 30 to 45 seconds. Reinstall the battery, power on the computer and immediately start pressing the appropriate key to enter BIOS setup (usually f10). Navigate to the exit tab, and load BIOS defaults. Save changes and exit.

and i dont think its the battery because it also trip off when on charging and when not charging

What type of system? Laptop? Desktop?

Does it trip off only when you are performing a specific task?

If it's a laptop, have you checked the charge-holding capacity of the battery?

I just solved a similar problem on my laptop. You didn't state what OS your system is running.

Get a Windows installation media, boot the system from it and choose "Repair your computer".

Follow the instructions to perform system restore. This would depend on the OS.

Verify that you actually have a replacement charger with the correct power ratings.

Remove the battery, disconnect the charger and all peripheral devices connected to the computer. Press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds.

With only the charger connected, power on the computer and immediately press the appropriate key to get to the BIOS set-up utility (Usually F2). In the BIOS set-up page, navigate to the exit tab, and select restore default settings. Then, exit saving changes.

Shutdown the computer, disconnect the charger, install the battery, and power on the computer. Now, connect the charger and see if it works correctly.

If it's a stand-by UPS unit, it could actually be faulty, in the sense that it takes a little too long to kick in when AC power goes out.

It could also be as a result of the UPS unit not being big enough to completely power the computer system.

Since you do serious stuff with the computer, I would suggest you get an online UPS unit. With this, your computer will run directly off the battery, which will be constantly topped off by the wall power source, just like in laptops.

Missing drivers. Update the drivers individual through Device Manager, or run Windows Updates to update the system in general.

Try Virtual Router.

If you are comfortable with command-line interface, why not configure it directly using the built-in netsh utility. It's virtually the same thing that these software do behind the scene.

A couple of things could be responsible. For instance, the cooling mechanism could be broken. If there is a fan, it could be clogged up with dust. Examine the fan to verify that it actually works. If there is a build-up of dust around it, you can try blowing air through the bottom and/or side vents to get rid of it.

The manner in which you use the laptop could also cause it to overheat. When in use, make sure it's on a solid flat surface, and not on a soft surface like a mattress, sofa, etc.

When did the problem start? What was the last thing you did?

Try disabling your security software temporarily, and see if everything works ok.

Try system restore to an earlier date when everything worked fine.
