Buhari also supports the policy. The intent of the policy is superb, the implementation is the issue.
I’m not even sure sleepy buhari understand what’s going on in the country anymore.

Did you watch El-rufai interview with Arise?

The intent of the policy is good. It is meant to suck up the 2.8 trillion naira outside the Bank vaults that are in circulation. Now 1.9 trillion naira have been taken back. Thereafter the intent is to limit the amount of cash in circulation outside the Banks. The policy is not a cash swap and the CBN have no intent to reprint thesame amount of naira that was in circulation.

The implementation whereby people are being charged ridiculous sums for withdrawal is where the problem lies. In my opinion, the CBN should have redesigned only 500 and 1000 naira notes, and the limit of free withdrawal daily be set at 50,000 naira. It should have been a controlled process to limit the suffering of the common man who need cash for basic daily activities.
It’s a good policy, I’m not arguing that. But it shouldn’t have been done months to an election.

The implementation is also bad, it’s very obvious the intent of this policy is political, do you know how many businesses have been ruined by this ?

All this suffering could have been avoided if the CBN followed a good implementation policy.

Not all Nigerians live in city and big towns, it’s the people in the rural areas that are bearing the brunt of this.

You are going to cause civil unrest if you take away all the cash in a poor, large, cash-denominated economy overnight so close to elections, it’s not rocket science.

Many Nigerians think it's a good policy when it's clear it is politically motivated. How people could be blaming Emefiele for this when he's just the fall guy.
He’s the CBN governor.

He allowed himself to be used, frankly he abused is position and authority.

Of course he will be blamed, most of the Cabals are faceless.

Not really cheap but I'm just wondering why your fellow brother thinks it is such a big amount
That’s like 700,000 naira.

You’ll be lucky to get a 2 bedroom apartment in Lagos with that amount.

Just30:
food is a lot cheap in Ghana ... Housing is expensive.

20,000 cedis is the minimum amount Ghanaian youth spend to rent 2 bedroom house for just a year and mind you, rent is usually collected in 2 years advance as security.

So you can see
20,000 cedis for a year rent on a 2 bedroom house is cheap though.

Thank you. I've told people that Emefiele is just being used. The whole thing is political. But if Emefiele was a wise man he would have just resigned. Now his name is going up in flames while nobody is mentioning Buhari's and the cabal.
There’s nothing to thank that clown for.

Of course emefiele is being used, everybody knows that.

It’s the same people who bought APC presidential ticket for him.

The Cabal Around the president went to shit when Abba kyari died.

GeneralDae:
The thing with this is that the common people would just keep blaming the APC for this and the opposition would use this more to their advantage.
However, the intent of the policy I support but implementation was something else in my opinion.
Even the intent is wrong. The intent of the policy is political.

The policy in itself is not bad, but the execution and roll out is terrible.

I knew there was problem when the minister of finance came out last year and said she was not aware of this policy.

Emefiele has really desecrated the CBN institution.

You do know we might have an economy slow down because of this?

Who does something like this month to an election?

Read about similar policy in India and how much it cost them

No, he is not
He is jst lucky to have a dumb master at the affair of the nation, where some asshole the master called friends brings stupid idea and praise it as something great nd he will eat it up.
No one does currency swap the ways he does it, few weeks to election.
Currency swap is not new in the country, ex cbn govs have done it in the past without any issue.
But wat did I know, since he himself is getting into politics, wanting to buy presidential form while still occupying the head of banks position despite been against the law, while also forming tough guy when people start pointing at the law.
Feb 25 is near, he knows himself this is his last fight.
How anyone will praise this policy is beyond.

It’s very obvious the guy is playing politics, because this is not how to go if you’re trying to demonetize the country.

And for your information, there is no country better than ghana in west africa. Nigeria is just big but not a successful one. Trading with 9 million successful Switzerland economy is better than 200 million Nigeria.
