Nowenuse: French, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish e.t.c were all varieties of pidgin Latin and today are world languages.
Brokin is being promoted by the largest nation in Africa (Nigeria). Even the English we are speaking of is not exactly a perfect language you have many borrowed language into it just like the pidgin |

Muafrika2: That's just an excuse. Tanzania has more than 120 differe tribes. Kenya has over 47 which are officially recognized. Swahili was spoken by just absmall population at the time of adoption, in fact, most of the elderly people in Kenya can't speak swahili - unless they have bee through the education system where its a compulsory subject. Swahili, is spreading through the education system.
Linguistic diversity was the reason why we adopted Swahili, instead of a colonial language. We still use the colonial language for the sake of people like you. And nigerians should have choosen what as Our Lingua Franca. I hope you know the reason why the capital was moved to Abuja. |

MtuMsuper: Nowenuse has proven himself to be a supremacist and anti kenyan. The Obi1kenobi guy at least is telling us the truth, uncomfortable as it is. I like realists. No he is not, He is telling you his own truth from his own perspective. You choosing to believe his own version over other nigerian's just tell's us the kind of "truth" you are looking for. |

Nowenuse: Nigeria's brokin is the most increasingly spoken language. In some places, like the state i am now, even the political leaders speak it with the people when adressing them. Almost all the elderly people speak it. Even in official settings it is spoken.
Pidgin is the increasing urban language in most of Nigeria. The northern part of the country used to be the people arguing against the language being our national/official language, but now the language is gradually penetrating the North (e.g my home city Jos in the north, pidgin is now gradually displacing Hausa as lingua franca). Many Ghanaians and Cameroonians are now adopting the language. Even the Kenyan's. |

Blue3k: I don't know anything about millitary weapons or take tactics. I'll just read what experts have to say on subject.
Nigeria arms industry is pathetic. I always suggested using the cheap labor known NYSC to design and do research on this. The issue with everything is Nigeria sabotages itself. 3 billion and we deal with pirates on coast, insurgents in north and herdsmen all over (supposedly). I still say this anytime, It is better to have it and don't Need It Than To Need It And Don't Have It. One question i will like to Ask Our Defence Ministry is "Have we learnt Nothing from the Boko Haram Insurgency". |

EVarn: It is indeed shameful, there was a time North Korea wanted to sell us missile technology, our politicians revealed the proposal and got warned off by the US. We have neighbours like Chad and Algeria who are well armed with MiGs and Sukhois, these countries can reach us quite easily and yet we do not see the threat.Nigeria,by virtue of our economy, population and ambition, should have air superiority over sub-saharan africa at least. Very shameful, But that what you get when you have half baked Leaders/politician making policy for the whole country. |

MtuMsuper: There is a dearth of information regarding water, sanitation and all things appertaining on Nigeria on the internet. Even your federal/state agencies are wanting You just hit a brick wall everytime you try and research. Its frustrating, hence the only way we can solve this is for a knowledgeable head to weigh in. Until then , i will have to rely on what I've been told by a first hand observer and what Obi1kenobi has affirmed. That is there is no organised and standardised water and sewer reticulation in Nigeria.
Ps: You can tax folks all you want when they dig boreholes. Is that sustainable. With septic tanks all up and down the place. would you trust the water you drink? Dont you think regulation is a good and Necessary thing? And why will you choose obi1kenobi opinion over Nowenuse? Because it satisfy your "deluded" Fantasy about nigeria, that's why. |

68816419: black boy u said "Imagine my horror learning that Lagosians, the city you praise so much, barely 10% have water from the State. While Nairobi, piped water is the norm, even slums have water kiosks '' well i wont blame u, rather i blame ur ignorance, only 45% of total population of Kenya Have water access wile Nigeria Have over 65% http://www.voanews.com/a/a-13-2009-09-12-voa24-68663932/408391.html Most in Kenyan Cities Have No Access to Clean Water A recent survey estimates that less than half of Kenyans living in urban areas have access to safe water. Meanwhile, other Kenyans are coping with water rationing measures. Experts blame the shortage on corruption and global warming.
In a section of Nairobi's Mukuru slum, , one of many slums in the capital, thousands of people purchase their water from just 74 taps. They often walk far distances and carry heavy containers to get that water to their homes. "Because of the water problem, we wake up very early since you can see that I am normally very busy with my work which if I don't do, we won't get anything to eat. So this forces me to wake up at 4am to go and fetch water," said Mukuru resident Jane Mwangi.
Meanwhile, in Nairobi's central business district, private water suppliers are becoming an increasingly common sight as office buildings can go for days without water.
Most middle-class homes receive water only three or four days a week because of a country-wide rationing program.
A recent survey by Transparency International-Kenya and the development group Maji na Ufanisi estimates that only half of Kenyans have access to clean, safe water. Some 25 percent of Kenyans get clean water through pipes, either at public water taps or in their homes.
Particularly vulnerable are slum dwellers, who comprise some 60 percent of Nairobi's population. Activists say slums are generally ignored by the government, so services such as water tend to be scarce in those areas.
Edward Kairu is executive director of the development group Maji na Ufanisi.
He estimates that about 70 percent of Kenya's water problems actually are due to corruption and inefficiencies in the water system.
The biggest cause of the water shortage, says Kairu, comes from deteriorating pipes and infrastructure, some of which has not been replaced for 50 years.
"In some cities like Nairobi, we may be losing anywhere above 30 percent of the water that is treated - that is a lot of water that is wasted," he said. "Added to that, we also have a lot of illegal connections."
Transparency International executive director Job Ogonda describes the second major cause.
"Most of the corruption happens in the diversion of water from its legal flow to either politically connected flow or flow to people who have bribed for it to flow their way," he said.
The report says that, as a result of this and other corruption, more than half of water consumed for domestic purposes is unaccounted for, while the government is collecting only 20 percent of the fees due from large water users.
Robert Gakubia is CEO of Kenya's Water Services Regulatory Board. He says that the government has been battling poor management in the water sector.
"You can get out laws, get out guidelines, try to monitor, enforce compliance and all that, but if in practical sense there is no investment to support those works, you know that as you give the orders, you know that the problem of mobilizing resources takes much longer," he explained.
For now, many Kenyans are recycling the little water they have to make it last as long as possible. http://www.voanews.com/a/a-13-2009-09-12-voa24-68663932/408391.html The Water & Sanitation Crisis in Kenya http://water.org/country/kenya/ The Part i like the Most "Particularly vulnerable are slum dwellers, who comprise some 60 percent of Nairobi's population. Are the Black South african's not ashamed of themselves, They are one of the reason's why black/Africans are regarded being intellectually incompetent. Just look at the state of their economy today and compare it to when the white were in power.
The 5% white are controlling the economy while the 95% blacks are relying on government welfare fund to do the needfull with their life, I mean
you have youth who are suppose to be working and contributing to the economy just lazying about doing nothing expecting free fund from the
government every month.
Manage to turn their economy to junk status(JUNK), don't know who's worse Jonathan or Zuma. |
