The All Progressives Congress now has control of two of the richest, and most viable states in Nigeria, Port Harcourt and Lagos. Lagos is the commercial capital of Nigeria, the nerve center of Nigeria’s economy and has belonged to the opposition for over a decade. The opposition in Nigeria is quickly becoming the mainstream party as 5 state governors left the ranks of the People’s Democratic Party to join its folds. One of those governor’s, Rotimi Amaechi of Rivers State receives the highest allocation from the Federal Government. He is also a personal friend of Governor Fashola of Lagos State who is seen as Nigeria’s most performing and visionary leader. Lagos State generates the highest revenue internally in the country, and also contributes the highest taxes to the coffers of the Federal Government. Port Harcourt has incredible oil wealth and is home to one of the most foremost oil and gas industry in Nigeria, surpassing the other States in the Niger Delta. SOURCE

Don’t even try to impeach Amaechi, it’s ‘bad market’ – River Assembly members warn Rivers State governor, Rotimi Amaechi has described the move by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), to impeach him through the State House of Assembly as unnecessary and senseless. He also added that the PDP cannot persuade the state lawmakers to impeach him. Amaechi said that he presently has 26 members of the State House of Assembly on his side adding that it would be difficult for the the remaining 5 lawmakers to remove him from office. According to reports: The governor, who spoke through the Chief of Staff Government House, Port Harcourt, Tony Okocha, said the governor had not committed any impeachable offence. He said, “It is very impossible for the governor to be impeached. The impeachment plot, if it is real will definitely fail. How can five lawmakers impeach a governor in a House of 31 members? “They (PDP) are groping in the dark and they will soon realise that they are embarking on a wild goose chase because not even one of the 26 lawmakers will listen to any impeachment plot.” Also, the Deputy Speaker of the State House of Assemby, Leyii Kwanee, said that none of the 26 members of the State House of Assembly would succumb to any pressure to impeach Amaechi. Kwanee explained that majority of the lawmakers were obligated to continue to support the governor till the end, adding that Amaechi’s position was aimed at protecting the future of the people of the state. He said, “Rivers State is already a bad market for any committee that will come to persuade us (lawmakers) to impeach the governor. “We, the pro-Amaechi lawmakers are obligated to support him (Amaechi). What the governor is doing is to protect the future of the people. It is for the future of Rivers State. Some people have been talking about brotherhood from the South- South. But politics is about interest and not brotherhood. The lawmakers in Rivers State will never succumb to any pressure to remove their governor.” He said that there was a subsisting court judgment that prevented the House of Assembly from impeaching Amaechi. In a sermon which is said to have left members of his congregation stunned, Pastor Chris Okotie reportedly said yesterday that all Catholics will go to hell. The pastor of the Household of God Church in Ikeja, Lagos and two-time presidential candidate also added that adherents of the Catholic faith “worship Satan and are led by an Anti-Christ Pope who is a friend to the devil.” The preacher, who has always been controversial following two divorces and unfulfilled prophecies relating to his presidential ambition also said that the Catholic church is “a counterfeit church set up by Satan” PM news report Fifty-five year old Okotie, while preaching in his church, added that Catholics “bow to idols and crucify Jesus every Sunday when they eat bread claiming they are eating Jesus’ body.” “They are not Christians and have never been,” Okotie told a stunned congregation. “They don’t know Jesus. They believe that when they eat bread on Sundays, they are eating the body of Jesus. It’s ritual,” Okotie said. He said Pope Francis is an Anti-Christ who does the job of the devil and that time is fast approaching when the Catholic church will pledge allegiance to Satan. “The pope is an Anti-Christ and the Catholic church will soon declare for Satan. This is the end of times,” Okotie erupted. Chris Okotie: Catholics will go to hell Chris OKotie: Catholics will go to hell He advised members of his church to come to the rescue of Catholics and evangelise them. This, he said, was not out of disrespect but out of respect for the word of God. He said those who know the truth should bring it to those who do not know it in the Catholic Church. Okotie said one of the Catholic most revered Popes, Pope John Paul 11, surrendered the Catholic Church to Mary, the earthly mother of Jesus Christ, instead of Jesus himself. He said even the current Pope Francis has also done same. He said Catholics are not Christians and do not worship the same Christ that he preaches in his church, at least the one spoken about in the Bible. Okotie said he did not write the Bible but it was clear to him that those in the Catholic church were lost and were heading to hell fire. “They don’t believe in heaven. They believe in purgatory, the purgatory that they invented,” Okotie said. “That church, the Catholic church has been there for Satan and at the right time, they will declare for Satan,”Okotie said. Okotie who has been married twice and divorced also twice said a beauty pageant will take place in his church next Sunday to select the most beautiful woman in his church. He also said his yearly “Grace programme” where he makes donations to charity organisations will also take place next Sunday. The once rock star turned celebrity preacher and politician has been controversial for years. He once said it was the devil who told him for the first time that he was going to be a preacher. He also said Nigeria’s famous preacher Prophet T.B. Joshua is the son of the devil and his followers will go straight to hell. In recent years, he has been saying that God has anointed him to be Nigeria’s president. That prophecy has not come to pass in two presidential elections that he participated in. SOURCE

In a new interview with Showbizplus, Iceprince explained why he initially denied his baby. How has fatherhood changed you? It has taught me to save my money. It is a huge difference and a huge change in lifestyle. You become more matured. You initially denied having a baby? It was complicated back then, I didn't really know what was happening and I wasn't sure of certain things. So the best I had to do then was denying it and sort out things first. Now I know he is my child and I have done everything as a father ever since. What is the relationship like with his mother? I speak with her often and it is usually about the baby. That is all for now. Have you started thinking about marriage? No, I'm fully focused on my music. |
