PoliticsSenators Donate 1,300 Bags Of Rice To Unpaid Kogi Workers by Shegman22(op): 8:10am On Oct 26, 2017
Members of the Senate have donated 1,280 bags of rice as of Wednesday to Kogi State Government’s workers whose salaries have not been paid for some months now.

This was made know by the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino Melaye, at a press briefing on Wednesday.

Melaye said he was spearheading donation of relief materials to Kogi workers over unpaid salaries.

Melaye said, “Today, I drew the attention of the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the plight of civil servants in my native Kogi State following the recent disturbing reports of deaths by suicide and inability to pay medical bills by some workers.

“I’m happy to report to you that my colleagues in the Senate have immediately responded by donating bags of rice and other essential items to the workers in order to cushion the biting effects of non-payment of their salaries by the Kogi State Government.

“The donation, which amounted to 1,280 bags of rice as of today (Wednesday), and others that will follow later, will be handed over to the Kogi State chapter of the Nigeria Labour Congress for onward distribution to the most vulnerable workers who need immediate assistance.”

The lawmaker also provided details of personal donations by each senator.

Senator Atai Aidoko (PDP, Kogi-East) donated 70 bags, while senators Danjuma Goje (APC, Gombe-Central); Peter Nwaoboshi (PDP, Delta-North); Ibrahim Gobir (APC, Sokoto-East); and Buruji Kashamu (PDP, Ogun-East) donated 50 bags each.

PoliticsEkiti Teachers Condemn Fayemi’s Disparaging Comment On Fayose’s Car Gifts, UK Tr by Shegman22(op): 11:41pm On Oct 09, 2017
Teachers in Ekiti State under the aegis of Positive Minds Club (PMC) for Ekiti Teachers have berated former Governor of the State and Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Dr Kayode Fayemi for describing the gift of brand new cars given to Headmaster General, best teachers in Primary and Secondary schools in the State as well as trip to London and N100 million to all the teachers as waste of public fund.

The teachers said it was insulting that the same Fayemi, who as governor never celebrated World Teacher’s Day and humiliated teachers with forced competency test, could condemn Governor Fayose, for celebrating teachers.

According to the PMC President, Comrade Ojo Patrick, “If Fayemi could describe gifts of brand new Hyundai Xcent to the best teachers in Primary and Secondary Schools as well as a brand new KIA Cerato to the new Headmaster General and one week trip to London or Dubai, the question to ask him is; what did he do for teachers when he was governor?”

The teachers said it was on record that Fayemi used thugs to stop the celebration of World Teacher’s Day in 2012 just because the teachers refused to write his competency test.

The PMC said it was on record that despite being a PhD holder, Ekiti State’s performance in National Examination Council (NECO) and West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) examinations was the worst in the history of our State.

“In 2014, Ekiti State was number 28 in NECO and with the commitment of Governor Fayose, the State came first in 2016 and 2017. Also in WASSCE, Ekiti State’s performance, which was 25 percent in 2014, moved to 74.86 percent in 2017.

“Yet, the same Fayemi, who killed the morale of teachers with his competency test and demotion of teachers, is condemning Fayose for rewarding teachers, through whose efforts and commitment our State’s lost glory in education was restored.

“This to us is the height of Fayemi’s demonstration of hatred for our teachers and we condemn it in its entirety,” PMC said.

While also berating Fayemi for reportedly claiming that Ekiti State’s first position in NECO in 2016 and 2017 was mere result of high-wired manipulation by Governor Fayose, the PMC said it was sad that a man like Fayemi, who once ruled Ekiti State like a fiefdom could say that teachers in the State were fraudulent just because Fayose’s government was able to achieve in two years, what he (Fayemi) could not achieve in four years.

PoliticsThe Rich CV Of Magu That Give National Assembly Sleepless Night: by Shegman22(op): 6:40am On Mar 19, 2017
THE MAN: #IBRAHIM #MUSTAFA #MAGU.

Ibrahim Mustafa Magu, Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, was on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, screened by the Senate for the position of the Executive Chairman, EFCC.
Magu, a Deputy Commissioner of Police is an indigene of Borno State. He attended the Ahmadu Bello University, ABU, Zaria, where he obtained a degree in Accountancy and a Masters Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice. He also holds a Post Graduate Certificate in World Corruption Studies from the University of Hong Kong.
A certified accountant, trained as financial crimes investigator with a background in forensic accounting, Magu has been exposed to training from the United State Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI, and the London Metropolitan Police institute.
He is one of the founding staff of the EFCC who served as Head of the Commission’s Economic Governance Unit, EGU, during the tenure of Nuhu Ribadu. In that position, he led many high profile investigations against former governors including James Ibori of Delta State.
The EFCC Boss is a member of the investigative committee convened by National Security Adviser (NSA), Babagana Monguno on the orders of President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the procurement of arms in the Armed Forces from 2007 till date.
No doubt, Magu is a professional by all standards, a courageous investigator and strongly views corruption as a crime against humanity. He said his mission in the EFCC is to ginger up the anti-corruption campaign. His words: “there is the need to make sure that whatever is gotten for common use did not end up in private pockets,” he has said repeatedly. “I am ready and willing to work with everybody without any primordial concerns, I will discharge my duties as the Chairman, EFCC, guided by the fear of God, the overriding interest of Nigeria and the rule of law”, he promised.
The acting Chairman who was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari in acting capacity on November 9, 2015, has recorded unprecedented achievements in the history of the Commission. Amongst the over 200 convictions he recorded in a period of about one year is the convictions of the final forfeiture of N34 Billion which was traced to the former Minister of Petroleum Resources, Deziani Allison Maduekwe; Interim forfeiture order of the sum of $9.8 Million Dollars and 74, 000 Pounds Recovered From Ex-NNPC GMD, Andrew Yakubu, following a raid in one of his houses in a slum in Kaduna.
Others are the sentencing of former governor of Adamawa State, Bala Ngilari to five years in jail for procurement fraud; sentencing of former Director General of NIMASA, Temisan Omatseye to five years in prison for fraud and sentencing of former Local Government Chairman in Kogi State, Gabriel Daudu to five years in jail for money laundering; recovery of 17 vehicles from Ex- Comptroller-General of Customs, Abdullahi Dikko Inde; uncovering of Diezani's $37.5million Mansion and the securing of Interim Forfeiture Order of N50 million on Former Enugu CJ'S Bank Accounts, the list is unending.
Only yesterday, operatives of the Commission, Kaduna zonal office, intercepted a sum of N49million in five large black 150kg coloured sacks following a tip off.

Judge for yourself why he is a nightmares to the National Assembly senothieves...
Politics5 Senators That Contributed To Magu's Rejection by Shegman22(op): 5:56pm On Mar 15, 2017
The Nigerian Senate today rejected Ibrahim Magu as the Acting Chairman of the anti graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Magu was subjected to grills by the lawmakers on different issues. But some, key players facilitated it. They include: 1. Shehu Sani - The Kaduna-born lawmaker also grilled the rejected EFCC boss. Sani asked him about the Paris Club Fund.: At the planary, Sani asked: ''You need to expantiate on your activities on human rights, What are your findings and activities on the Paris Club fund?'' 2. Dino Melaye - The Kogi state senator was the first to grill Magu over the DSS report. Melaye said that notwithstanding the letter from President Muhammadu Buhari urging the Senate to confirm Magu despite his disqualification by the DSS, the secret service has written another letter to the legislature to disqualify the Acting EFCC Chairman. 3. Isah Misau - Misau grilled Magu with questions for more than two times. First he asked: ''Dasuki took money illegally and not a single person from the CBN has been investigated or prosecuted so far...'' Secondly, why is Central Bank Governor who released money not being investigated by EFCC? 4. Senator Olujimi - Can you say that anybody you're prosecuting will take you serious, why prosecute people on the Newspaper before it gets to court? 5. Ike Ekweremadu -- The Deputy Senate President also took turns to swipe at Ibrahim Magu, asking him how he will fight corruption within the law.
FamilyLast Night, His Neighbour Gave Birth To A Baby Girl, IN HIS CAR. by Shegman22(op): 7:49pm On Feb 21, 2017
I saw this on Facebook and I wish to share it here to gain from it

Actually, it happened this morning. 12:58 am. I have never witnessed a thing like that before. I only saw such in Nollywood movies.
I was not fast asleep. But I was hearing the first set of gentle knocks on my door in my dreams. Kpam Kpam Kpam Kpam, Daniel o...repeatedly. Later I would deem whoever was knocking that way as unserious. How could such knocks wake me up? But I have just slept off an hour before then. So I was woken up immediately the knock got louder. I rushed out, hearing the cries for help. She was already in labour---my neighbour. My God! I saw the baby's head pushing itself out of my neighbour's privates. She was fast losing blood, as they kept flowing uncontrollably. As if that was not enough a strange sight for me, I saw that white, long thing they call umbilical cord. Damn it! That was actually when the baby had completely come out. Chai. Poor child. Crying. We didn't know what to do. I was clueless. Her friend---a young lady---was clueless too. There was no other neighbour available. And it was already 01:05 am. But that my neighbour, ba? She was a strong woman. She kept reassuring her panic-stricken friend to stop shouting, re affirming that she'd be fine. She was even the one that suggested we go to a nearby hospital. Olodo like me, I couldn't even think of any meaningful thing to do. My head was full. But she was strong. We carried her down to my car, carrying the baby alongside, careful not to draw the umbilical cord too apart from her. Chai. Blood. She lost a lot of blood. I gently drove us to a nearby hospital. The staff responded quickly. The cord was cut while she was still in the car. The baby survived. The mother survived too. I went back home later and got them some clothes, and tea, milk, bread and hot water for the mother.
This is what I call miracle. Not turning water into wine. In this part of the world, we say "Thank God" for even things we can do ourselves. So for the first time in my life, I'll do this, because I am overwhelmed:
Thank God for my neighbour's strong resolve in the face of hysteria;
Thank God for the mechanic guy that didn't tell me stories yesterday, but promptly worked on the car's fan belt, making the car available;
Thank God for the staff of Divine Mercy Hospital and Maternity, Orba road, Nsukka, especially the gate man, for their immediate response to our call for help;
And finally, thank God for giving us humans all that we need to survive the pestilence and pains He also created on earth, for surely He created all things. Amen!
I learnt a few things:
1. A pregnant woman shouldn't be left alone. I used to say I'd run out of home when my wife gets heavy, to avoid a pregnant woman's wahala. Dear future wife, I have changed my mind. I now understand what you women go through. I'll be there, through it all. No business trips. No conferences or seminar. In fact no work for me. I'll be there. We will do it together. After all, we had sex together (whatever that means).
2. I think one should always have fuel in one's car. Anything can happen any time. And no petrol station might be available at that time.
3. Do not overlook the importance of neighbourliness. And if your neighbour is one who hardly responds to knocks on his/her door (like my former useless neighbour), declare such a neighbour as useless to humanity.
Finally, women, please accept the assurances of my ernest respect for your natural abilities. Truly, there's more to your privates than just sexual activity.
PS: the head nurse said I'd make a good father, because of the way I was in charge. Is that true? I mean, why not?

PoliticsWe Will Protect 2face-led Anti-government Protest – Nigeria Police by Shegman22(op): 12:37pm On Feb 02, 2017
The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Fatai Owoseni, says the command is aware of a proposed demonstration which popular artiste, 2face Idibia, plans to lead on February 5.
Mr. Owoseni said this on Monday while addressing journalists in Lagos.
The police chief also paraded the publisher of Biafra Times and nine others for allegedly publishing and circulating seditious and malicious publication.
In his address on the protest, the police chief said although his command is yet to be officially notified, he assured that the police would not allow unscrupulous elements to hijack the protest.
2face, the African Queen crooner, recently took to his Instagram handle, @official2baba, calling on his fans and followers to join in the nationwide protest scheduled for February 5.
He stated: “First Massive Nationwide Protests.
“A call for good governance. A call for urgent explanation into the reckless economic downturn nationwide….to come out and protest this obnoxious and baseless policies and excuses of the government of the day.”
Reacting, popular comedian, Bovi Ugboma, said he would not join the protest.
Bovi on his Instagram handle: @officialBovi stated, “Boycott” is too strong a word to describe my not attending. I won’t be there. Simple. It doesn’t define whether I support it or not.
“I am not joining the protest, and stop saying ‘we’ and ‘us.’ You don’t belong…..my life is not governed by your opinions of me.”
Similarly, popular Yoruba actress, Funke Adesiyan, who disagreed with 2face over the plan said that protest was not the only option.
The actress, who recently completed a course in film-making and directing at the New York Film Academy in the U.S, stressed the importance of youth participation in governance.
The Yoruba actress who contested and lost the Oyo State House of Assembly election under the umbrella of PDP in 2015, stated on her Instagram handle, @funkeadesiyan, that,
“When people ask me why I joined politics, I tell them from the truest of my heart that it is because I got tired of how things were being done in my country.
“It’s not enough for us to protest, it’s more important for us, youths of this beloved nation, to get involved in governance. You could try many times before you achieve it,” Adesiyan stated.

PoliticsWhy Card Readers Will Not Be Used During LG Polls – OYSIEC!!! by Shegman22(op): 9:31pm On Jan 19, 2017
The Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC), has declared that it will not make use of card readers during the forthcoming February 11 Local Government election in the state.
The commission also said with the assistance of the security agents, it will restrict human and vehicular movement during the election period.
Chairman of the commission, Mr. Jide Ajekigbe made these disclosure on Thursday while briefing journalists at the commission’s headquarters on the amended timetable of the election and the preparation of the commission for the election.
Ajekigbe while answering questions from journalists informed that the local government law has not yet recognized the use of card readers, hence, the commission will not make use of it to avoid unnecessary problems.
He said the commission was ready to conduct free and fair election in 4783 polling booths and 5620 polling points in all the 33 LGs and 35 LCDAs in the state.
He said, “We are not using card readers for the election. The usage of card readers will not be tolerated, so we are not using card readers. Even the local government law does not permit the usage of card readers.
“We want to avoid unnecessary problems and questions during the election. I don’t want a situation where someone will be mentioning my name, saying his or her fingers were not captured and all that.
“On the day of election, there will be restriction of movement for that day, we want our people to stay indoors and come and vote during the election hours.”
Ajekigbe said despite the economic challenges in the country, the commission is confident that it will conduct the election without any financial challenges.
“However, it is important to stress that Oyo State as a member of the Nigerian Community cannot be insulated from the adverse consequences of the Global Economic Crisis. We, therefore, wish to assure all stakeholders and citizens that these situations will not in any way affect the conduct of free, fair and credible elections.
” The commission has been taking necessary steps towards a successful and credible election. We have met with the leaders of the political parties, non-governmental organizations like National Orientation Agency and State Security Services, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
“The commission has also gone round the thirty-three (33) Local Government Areas and thirty-five (35) Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) to inspect Oyo State Independent electoral Commission offices and ascertain their level of preparedness towardS ensuring a free, fair and credible poll.”!!!
