I don't seem to understand this American President called Biden self. How can he appoint 4 Nigeria South Westerners including an Edo State born lady into his administration and not one from any of of the three Northern Zones and the the South East? Is he not aware of zoning system in Nigeria? Why not one each or all of them from the North and even from Niger Republic? Kaduna1stson:One aboki spotted! So, there are abokis on Nairaland. That an aboki is occupying the Aso Villa doesn't say we shouldn't talk of the hardship he's hoisting on people. Honestly people are tired of this so much pampered vissionless leader. |
Anyiamaka:It was intended to be so. I wrote this just to know the situation of things in people's area. It was what I experienced. So, just leave it like that. |
EdoFirstBorn:You got it all wrong. We need the Police. The SARS unit has been disbanded. I don't think there's reason for them to still parade themselves. That's the point. |
Neddstark:It may possibly take them time though. They'll still come back to their bad behaviors. |
This comes in form of a question; I need to know if SARS operatives have been drafted back to their duty posts. I saw a bus yesterday with about six operatives (can't be specific if they were SARS members though). The occupants were in mufti, and were all carrying rifles. What amazes me was that they drove into a Police station, addressing some of them as inspectors. They weren't officers from the same Police station. I suspect they were their to drop their warrant before heading for their assignment. I couldn't believe this, what is the situation in your area. Have you started seeing them coming out? Or are these people the SWAT operatives? I'm just wondering though... |

Below is a picture of the Ile-Ife celebrated Moremi in Ugbo land being punished for her betrayal. She pleads everyday for her wrong doing. It is believed that she betrayed the good people of Ugbo kingdom in Ilaje local government of Ondo state hence the need to get her punished. She's been whipped yearly for her atrocities. The Ugbo people have their own version of this same history. If OP could also journey down to Ugbo kingdom, he'd get first hand version of theirs. NB: While being celebrated somewhere, she's also paying dearly for her betrayal.

TecM0:He's retired and now work under him. |
OP, you don't have a point. If you're a Buharist, does it means you have to see things from your tiny viewpoint? Well, this is the voice of a people who are determined to make things right. Some of us are ready to donate our last kobo to make this a success. Its evident that its yielding the desired results. Besides, are we not tired of these visionless leaders? Wait, when was the last time Our President came out to address issues in this country? Simply put, if it'll take Buuharii to be retired for this country to move forward, so be it. We move!!! |

Obaseki backtracks on exclusion of lawmakers-elect June 5, 2020 •Governor names Sanwo-Olu, Lalong, senator in peace panel •’We insist on indirect primary’ •Commissioner quits Bolaji Ogundele, Abuja and Bisi Olaniyi, Benin EDO State State Governor Godwin Obaseki began on Thursday the process of truce with 14 elected lawmakers who have been excluded from the affairs of the House of Assembly since January. He named Governors Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Lagos), Simon Lalong (Plateau) and Senator Ehigie Uzamere to lead the peace mission. Only 10 of the 24-member Assembly were inaugurated on June 17. The remaining members are not participating in lawmaking. The three-man panel has a mandate to reconcile the Executive with members-elect. The exclusion of the 14 members-elect is one of the issues behind the virtually intractable crisis rocking the All Progressives Congress (APC). In a statement, the governor said the constitution of the reconciliation committee is part of moves to restore harmony and peace in the state chapter of the APC. Obaseki restated his commitment to peace, saying that a united front would make the party stronger, more cohesive and help to foster more development in the state. He added that the committee, which commenced work with immediate effect, would reach out to all parties in the dispute and address all grey areas for peaceful resolution of the matter. Also on Thursday, Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu insisted on indirect primary to pick the APC standard bearer for the Septermber 19 governorship election. In a statement by Special Assistant on Media, Benjamin Atu, the deputy governor boasted that Obaseki will win any form of primary election – direct or indirect. He alleged that the party’s National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, was bent on direct primary because he had already written the result. He argued that indirect mode of primary election was the most appropriate method in view of the guidelines put in place by many APC stakeholders to curtail the spread of COVID-19 in the state. Shaibu said: “Despite this confidence and assurance that the victory of Governor Obaseki is not in doubt, we are not ready to go the way of the direct primary. “Our preference for indirect primary is because we don’t want to secure victory at the expense of the health of those we are seeking to lead.” He stressed that Obaseki owed the responsibility to safeguard the state and its people against COVID-19 and other situations that may endanger their lives. Shaibu added: “As the Chief Security officer of the state and first among equals, the governor has decided to conduct the affairs of the state in the way that will ensure safety of its citizens. “As of today, Obaseki is the governor of Edo State and has the capacity to determine the direction of the state. That doesn’t amount to fear of failure in facing any election but rather putting the interest of the public above desperation to win an election.” He said Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Chairman Uche Secondus “doesn’t usurp the sovereignty of PDP states.” He said: “The sovereignty of the state can’t be submerged at this critical juncture of our lives. The indirect primary will make it more convenient for INEC (Independent National Electoral Commission) to supervise and will be more transparent. Read Also: Five aspirants to battle Obaseki for APC ticket “The APC national chairman is insisting on direct primary because the result of the yet to be conducted direct primary election is already written by him, just waiting to be announced.” Also on Thursday, some Obaseki allies got a June 17 date for arguments in their suit seeking to stop a frontline governorship aspirant Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu from participating in the APC primary. The governor’s sympathisers, had through an ex-parte motion, requested the Edo High Court in Benin to bar Ize-Iyamu but presiding Justice H. Ahaomoje declined and gave them 10 days to file their response. The judge also gave counsel to the plaintiffs/claimants two days to reply. The plaintiffs are: Pastor Kenneth Asekomhe, on behalf of pro-Obaseki Edo APC; Benjamin Oghumu, on behalf of himself and executive committee of the APC in Orhiomwon Local Government Area and Matthew Ogbebor, on behalf of himself and the executive committee of Ugbogbo Wards 5. Joined as defendants are: APC, Oshiomhole and Ize-Iyamu. Paul Ohonbamu on Thursday resigned from Governor Godwin Obaseki’s administration as Edo State Commissioner for Information and Orientation. In his resignation letter, which was addressed yesterday to the governor, Ohonbamu said: “I hereby tender my letter of resignation as a commissioner in Edo State to His Excellency, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, this 4th day of June, 2020. “Without setting a precedent, I have decided to step aside as cabinet member and operate outside? it for the general good of Edo State and pursuit of happiness for the citizens.” The former information commissioner, a lawyer, said: “Whether we shall meet again I know not. Therefore, our everlasting farewell take. If we do meet, while we shall smile, if not, it is true this parting was well made”. It was gathered that Ohonbamu resigned for being sidelined in the state executive council. Secretary to Edo State Government (SSG) Osarodion Ogie immediately announced Ohonbamu’s replacement. The SSG said: “The Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has approved the appointment of Mr. Stewart Efe as Commissioner for Communication and Orientation. His appointment takes immediate effect.” |
I thought Pius Obudu backed off though. What's happening in Edo Politics? |

EDO 2020: Intrigues, as Ize-Iyamu emerges to tackle Obaseki ON MAY 28, 20206:05 AMIN NEWS …Obaseki picks nomination forms, says no man can stop his second term bid …Ize-Iyamu also gets forms, states why he, others want Obaseki out …Why we stepped down for Ize-Iyamu, want Obaseki out – Aspirants …Oshiomhole can’t stop Obaseki – Idahosa By Clifford Ndujihe, Omeiza Ajayi & Ozioruva Aliu ABUJA—THE battle for the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship ticket in Edo State is panning out as a two-horse race between Governor Godwin Obaseki and Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu. The duo were the chief combatants in the 2016 governorship election won by Obaseki. After several weeks of horse-trading and negotiations that nearly broke down, six governorship aspirants — Dr. Pius Odubu, Engr. Chris Ogiemwonyi, Major-General Charles Airhiavbere (retd), Johnson Agbonyima, Saturday Uwulekhue and Prof. Ebegue Amadasun, have stepped down for Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu as their consensus governorship aspirant for the June 22 governorship primary election. A seventh aspirant, Solomon Edebiri, was said to have voluntarily withdrawn from the race. Vanguard gathered that negotiations for the aspirants to agree on a consensus was reached Tuesday night in Abuja, and Ize-Iyamu was said to have come tops, after a screening by a committee set-up for the selection exercise. The screening committee was headed by former Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, Francis Alimikhena, while other members included former Edo Deputy Governor, Lucky Imasuen; General Cecil Esekhaigbe (retd); ex-Edo Speaker, Thomas Okosun; former Minority Whip of the House of Representatives, Samson Osagie; ex-member of the House of Representatives, Patrick Obahiagbon and Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives, Peter Akpatason. Ize-Iyamu and incumbent governor, Godwin Obaseki, are now to square up for the APC governorship ticket on June 22. Sources said the negotiations and horse-trading almost broke down when Odubu complained of maltreatment, lamenting that he had been in the party without break since inception but was being side-stepped for Ize-Iyamu, who just returned after running as Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in 2016. Vanguard gathered that he was persuaded to step down eventually in the interest of the APC and in support of efforts to stop Governor Obaseki. Confirming the development, factional State Secretary of the party, Lawrence Okah, said: “We are going with him to pick the form now. There is harmony in the family. We just have one common enemy. Obaseki should go, that’s all.” Aspirants pool funds to buy form for Ize-Iyamu It was learned that all the aspirants in the contest contributed funds to buy APC’s N22.5 million Nomination and Expression of Interest Form for Ize-Iyamu. A statement by the Director of Communication, Ize-Iyamu Campaign Organisation, John Mayaki, shortly after he picked the nomination form, described it as “another stride in the quest to move Edo State forward.” He said: “By obtaining the form today, we have formally placed our name on the party’s ballot for our internal primary next month. It is another great stride and we are thankful to the other aspirants who have joined us here today to offer support. “There have been efforts to cause disunity in our party and pitch people against each other by those who have sadly embraced politics without principles and are openly rebelling against the leadership of our party, because they believe they have absolute power. But as it is clear from today’s event, Edo APC is united and these deviants may have a loud voice but they don’t represent the majority. “Everyone here may have personal ambitions but we are bound together by the common desire to fast-track transformation of our state through a transparent, effective and accountable governance that will improve the living standards and social well-being of our people. https://www.vanguardngr.com/ |
HITMEUP4ANYBIZ:Weldone, the mouthpiece of Eledumare, the appointer of he who governs from Alagbaka, the most powerful that knows better than the APC stalwarts who regardless of any of your points still appointed Chief Olusola Oke as the Chairman, Buhari Campaign Organization (Southwest) in the last general election. Gentlemen of the press, considering the mood of the state and continuous ban on political meetings and the fact that INEC has given its nod for electronic campaign, we hereby present to the public the long awaited report of the Ondo APC Unity Forum concerning its governorship aspirant for the 2020 governorship election in Ondo state, as presented by the Gubernatorial Candidate Selection Committee. The Unity Forum, by the content of the report has adopted *Chief Olusola Oke, SAN* as the candidate of the Forum. All the leaders and members of the Unity Forum are hereby enjoined to begin mobilisation across the state for the candidate of the forum. *REPORT OF 7-MAN GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATE SELECTION COMMITTEE FOR UNITY FORUM* During the meeting of the Aspirants on March 23, 2020, a unanimous decision was taken by all the Aspirants that the 7-man Gubernatorial Candidate Selection Committee should come up with a candidate to represent the Unity Forum in the Ondo State 2020 General election. This is due in part to the failure of the Aspirants to reach a consensus on a person to represent them as a candidate. In taking this unanimous decision, all the ten (10) Aspirants (1) Dr Segun Abraham (2) Barrister Olarewaju Kazeem (3) Barrister Bukola Adetula (4) Prince Dapo Adelegan (5) Mr Adelami Olayide Owolabi (6) Mr Akintunde Akinsewa Awodeyi (7) Barrister Mrs Jumoke Anifowose ( Chief Olusola Oke(9) Engr Ife Oyedele (10)Prince Jimmy Odimayo agreed to accept the candidate recommended by the Committee. However, one of the Aspirants insisted that he must be convinced that the process would be credible. Consequently, on March 24, 2020, six members of the committee met and one was unavoidably absent. They debated on the issue of presenting a candidate in line with the Committee's terms of reference and the concurrence of the aspirants. As a result, four of the six members opted for Chief Olusola Oke SAN, one opted for a technocrat whose identity was not disclosed and one opted for a female Aspirant. We thank the leader of Unity Forum H.E. Alhaji Alli Olanusi and the members of the forum for giving us the opportunity to serve in this challenging task of selecting a candidate for the forum. Senator Yele Omogunwa. Chairman Prof Sola Ehindero. Secretary Members Elder Mike Adeyeye. Hon Afe Olowookere. Ajiroba Boye Adegbemisoye. HE Olukemi A Iyantan (Mrs). Prince Solagbade Amodeni.
