Ugo Chikieze wrote :

THE BAYELSA ELECTION, A LESSON FOR THE IGBOS:
I have been following events in the Bayelsa state since Saturday and I think it's high time we Igbos woke up and learn our lessons. What is happening in Bayelsa state shows that the Bayelsans have moved on. They are no longer tied to the apron of PDP and GEJ. That state is one of the smallest states in the country and it's the home state of the former president (GEJ), yet the result of the election held since Saturday have not been announced officially till now. I thought the PDP would have swept off the whole votes just like they did during the presidential election, but to my amazement the APC is also gathering considerable votes there. I know PDP may eventually emerge winner in the election, but my point is that we Igbos should wake up and stop crying more than the bereaved cos even the bereaved have moved on.
Other regions have moved on and have even started integrating themselves into this PMB administration to ensure they remain relevant and not schemed out if things, while some of my people are still holding themselves down and throwing hate speeches here and there.
Other region are already preparing for 2019, some are already gearing up for 2023, while my people have failed to arise and shake off GEJ and his failed administration. By 2019 now, we will begin to run helter-skelter and start last minute preparation and when we loose again, we will say we are hated by others but we forget that we are the ones holding ourselves down now that others are already preparing ahead.
The Igbos have enjoyed more "juicy" appointments in the past 16 years of this democratic dispensation, yet none of the appointees or elected officials performed exceptional well for us to present him/her as presidential candidate. But look at the likes of Fashola, Fayemi, Kwakwanso, El Rufai, etc they are all potential presidential candidates going forward cos their achievements speak for them. Tell me the achievements of. Orji Uzor Kalu, T.A Orji, Sam Egwu, Chimaroke Nnamani, Mbadinuju, etc.... none of them made a mark in their various states, yet we leave them and keep pointing fingers to other regions and saying they are our problem.
I advise we wake up and begin to align ourselves strategically with other region now cos we can never produce a president in this country if we continue like this.
While some misguided elements are busy shouting Biafra, and claiming that South south is part of their Biafra, the southsouth have denounced the whole Biafra thing publicly and I understand that just last weekend, Nyesom Wike of River State, named a stadium in River State after Yakubu Gowon. Does that not tell you somethinghuh?
The golden rule says 'DO UNTO OTHERS WHAT YOU WILL LIKE THEM TO DO UNTO YOU'..... Love begat love, hate begat hate. Don't expect love from others when you give them hatred, don't expect them to vote for your candidate when you keep calling them animals that live in the zoo.
"Give and it shall be given unto you" whatever you give to others is what they will give back to you GOOD MEASURES, PRESSED DOWN, SHAKING TOGETHER AND RUNNING OVER.
He who has ears let him hear, Wisdom is profitable to direct.... I rest my case...
You seem to be ignorant of the simple and common sense fact that the only votes the APC managed to get was as a result of rigging and thuggery.

In a free and fair contest APC will not get a quarter of the vote they have now. Reasonable South southerners and South easterners have rejected the APC knowing it's a big scam.

And mind you, if elections are held in the South East, the APC will also have votes but the votes will be from myopic igbo men like you and will not be much. The real Igbos are now wiser. Wake up and join the trend now if at all you are an igbo man. Don't let the Northerners and South westerners use u.

[quote author=tunde1200 post=39686545]Op let's be positive and sincere
Improved power supply
Reduced scarcity of petrol
Obtaining support from Uk and US for repartriation of stolen funds.

Lastly one account system of operation implemented.

During your GEJ admin do you have light light like now?.

When Jonathan was in power there used not to be scarcity of fuel.

Talk about improved power supply. Where is it? We only had that when Buhari initially assumed office.

Stop being partisan for better Nigeria
PoliticsRe: What Has Buhari's Administration Achieved This Year? by shellworker: 8:29pm On Nov 04, 2015
Mynd44:
Achievements this year includes the total implementation of TSA
the adoption of a zero based plan for budgets
Renegotiating the loans taking by various states that made it difficult for them to pay salaries

They also include raising power generation to 4,500MW
We have started over-hauling NNPC
Re-awakening of the anti-graft bodies
The fight against corruption has taken full force
A redirection of Nigeria's taxing policy
Adoption of the Ogoniland clean up report
[b]And most importantly, Kicking out the past administration and their corrupt practices[\b]
Always say what you are sure of in case of defence

Many states are yet to receive the bail out loan you talked about.

On corruption, can you use corruption to fight corruption? Amaechi was indicted by a panel set up in Rivers state to have embezzled the state's money, yet he was confirmed a minister by the Senate and the Senate committee findings ignored. If Buhari really wanted to fight corruption, he would have proved himself with Amaechi's case. Many Nigerians now see his so called anti corruption war as a farce; a deceit.

Talk of EFCC and ICPC, these are tools used by the present administration to hunt perceived political enemies. All the corrupt elected officers in the APC are not touched by these so called anti graft agents. Their fight have being selective. Instead of Buhari to be acting like a father of the nation, he is rather promoting hatred and disunity.

On power supply, would you proudly and sincerely say you still have much of it as it was when Buhari initially assumed office? Be frank. Let's not be partisan and be hiding truth. By doing so we are not helping ourselves.

In the area of our judiciary, would you say they are not influenced going by the outcome of the election tribunal judgements. When Goodluck was in power of course you saw the difference. He allowed them freedom of fair judgement.

How is the taxing policy in Nigeria like today? If there is any difference between it, now and before he wouldn't be shouting, no money, no money and be dem arresting us in the international community.

Buhari is just being dictatorial, and he should change before it's too late.

First of all may I ask who told you Amaechi will be made a minister of the Niger delta. You are just duelling in speculation. Too bad!

Even if Amaechi is made minister of the Niger delta as is widely speculated, it does not mean he will be the one developing the entire region, but rather the one reporting to the FG on the best way forward for the region. Amaechi on carrying out this duty will not be accorded the best support and cooperation he would be required. So many Niger deltas dislike him as a person since after the general elections. I can authoritatively tell you this.

The governor of all states remain the chief development agents of their respective States. Amaechi as a minister will make no difference. It won't affect Wike in anyway. Rivers State's allocation goes directly to the government's custody and not through any so called minister.

That daft convention of having 2 senators out of maximum 3 endorse a Ministerial nominee is as daft as any insane rule. How could Senators bring their local 'gra-gra' politics to the National Assembly and prevent their 'political enemies' from being confirmed?

PDP is a party of hypocrites!

What happened when ALL 3 Lagos Senators opposed Obanikoro's nomination? Wasn't he cleared under David Mark's Senate Presidency?

What happened when the same Bukola Saraki brought local Ilorin/Kwara politics to the Senate and refused to support the nomination of Prof. Oba Abdulraheem as Chairman of Federal Character Commission (FCC)? Didn't he fail as the Senate under David Mark over-ruled him and confirmed Abdulraheem?

Same thing happened when Edo senators refused to support GEJ's nomination of Minister of Works. Didn't David Mark's 7th Senate confirm the man in the face of opposition by ACN senators influenced by Oshiomhole?

Now, it is the turn of APC nominees and clowns in PDP-controlled states are shouting 2-Senator rule!

Where were they when David Mark ensured that ALL PDP nominees from AC/ACN/APC controlled states scaled through Senate screening in spite of opposition from the opposition party? Bunch of hypocrites!!!

My friend think before you write. What were the charges of all those people you mentioned in your piece? Don't forget that this APC government mantra is change. They claim they want to fight and kill corruption, insecurity, poverty, etc. What then will they be portraying if they go ahead to appoint a proven corrupt character like Amaechi a minister.

May I remind you that those in glass houses don't throw stones. APC should stop deceiving themselves and other gullible Nigerians that they are fighting corruption while on the other hand promoting it. They should start the fight from their house. Amaechi has a corruption case to answer, until he is cleared of the case, Dullard Buhari should know he is not meant to even nominate him.

From the current political setting, it can not be wise to field an igbo man to compete with whosoever that will be coming from the APC, hopefully a northerner. Especially now that the north's hunger for power is high. A northerner will have to be fielded to get a split vote from that region. Politics is all about calculation.
