kfrosh: I understand the way our mothers can be rigid even when you yell them they're on the wrong path. With your phone in hand and with her beside you. Google cost of TOEFL registration, let her see with her eyes how much it cost and how the agent is about to dupe her or has already duped her. Hopefully she gets convinced. i have told her severally .... normally i dont call witb my airtime.... but i call her every morning just to tell her to visit ikeja by mafit. |

Spotlighte: I am so sorry about this, but it looks like there is enough money to throw away. I mean 804k is so much money for standardized tests fam. That money is enough to write the tests, pay application fees to more than 6 schools, and still cover other major expenses.
STAY AWAY FROM AGENTS ! ! !
If you register with B.Y Mafit, you get to pay 45k for the TOEFL. That 45k takes care of the materials he would need to read to ace the test. Looking from things, your brother need classes, and B.Y Mafit offers that for free.
What your mum's friend told her is a fat lie. When your brother goes there, he'd see his age mates in class. There are kids there his age attending classes and waiting to write their own tests.
Life shouldn't be this tough to be honest.
Again, STAY AWAY FROM AGENTS! ! ! thank you my brother.... i have spoken and spoken to her o... she has so much responsibilities ! am even discouraged to discuss my plans with her with the way shes spending into scam. And shes a federal worker. i will send her screenshots |

zarconflux: Good morning nairalanders,my name is freddie from imo state,I graduated Aug,2015 and now I want to leave nigeria but the only option I have for now is via student visa. I have an uncle in the US who's over 43yrs in d US but he's not helping. Now I want to go for masters in the same US but I don't know where to start,I have read d previous conversations but d terms sounds Spanish. Please someone should help a brother...what do I do? There is this saying that says ''If we don't fight we have failed, but if we fight we can either fail or succeed''. So forget the tuition part for now and put in some work. First, you need to decide on the course you want to study, To save you some stress start from this website http://graddecision.org/ to know the application process, So step 1) Decide on the course you want to study 2) Search for schools using a) www.msinus.com (open this website with a laptop, you should see a list of school and ranking for some of the most common courses, you can start from there b) www.gradschools.com c) www.google.com (you can just type 'msc in bla bla in the us in google' d) www.usnews.com e) www.4icu.org . 3) check up the website of the schools you find, to see the requirements. most schools will require GRE and some will require both gre and toefl . 4) Register for standardize exam and take it. You can register for gre as soon as you are ready and prepared to take the exam. Its done online at www.ets.org. You can also get all the information you need about the exam on the website. You will get adequate materials to prepare for the exam in this dropbox I createdhttps://www.dropbox.com/sh/t9ot6d07hp1lkm7/ AADL_dTihjEvNBRCBsmAcoXja?dl=0 TOEFL is an English test required by some US universities. though, some schools waive due to the fact that Nigeria is an Anglophone country. For toefl, all you need are the speaking noteful videos in the link below, the ets toefl guide is enough to ace the exam for other sections. Just download the toefl ETS Guide from there website and the simulation test. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/45tvc3ifi8wh8sh/AACXR5j6l3nsWK8vZx5P28TVa?dl=0 As for the Tuition, if you have good results (GRE, GPA, Toefl), SOP and LOR; US schools do offer assistanship to graduate students. This can either be Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant or Administrative Assistant. Depending on the school, if you get an assistantship, your Tuition will be waived and you will also be paid a monthly stipend that can take care of your living expenses. One advice, once you shortlist schools, send emails to the grad cord of the schools and ask specific questions relating to that course and funding opportunities, be very explicit. Lastly, there are basically 2 admission session in the US, Spring (Jan) and Fall (August). Schools admit more students in Fall, so Its advisable you plan towards Fall 2018. If you plan to resume in fall 2018, make sure you submit all your application documents before ending of Dec 2017. If you don't give it a trial, you will never know.My philosophy in life is to always do my part, with that I don't get to regret later. Above all, if you believe in God,pray to him..if not, good for you. |

LagosismyHome: .. As an international student you need to think about life after F1 and also your chances of H1B for those who need or want to remain. H1B is competitive to get a company to sponsor u hence the quality of the school is vital and not the easy of getting admission that is vital . If a school is ranked at 173 in engineering do u really want to go there for engineering . I would recommend you go and write GRE and aim for schools more highly ranked in Engineering and score high to aim for funding... After F1 years u will say i am glad someone in NL adviced me better ****Recent data analysis showed that Southern Illinois University Edwardsville area is relatively unsafe; the college is reported to have a rather poor rating for on-campus crime. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville engineering program ranks #173 Source: http://best-engineering-colleges.com/southern-illinois- university-edwardsville hello ma...i found this your post on an old thread ...please what do you think of montclair state university and florida instititute of technology for an ms in accounting. vickertony: I never said, there isn't, there are good prospects but from my research forensic accountants work mostly with job agencies like FBI, Law offices etc
Heard its a specialized area of accounting, nothing really special about it, it doesn't command high income like that, it takes time to be an expertise in it.
I wouldn't want to limit myself to such kinda jobs, I prefer Management information system atleast I can take up any role in IT sector, startups, companies, Business & IT combined, even a career as an IT Auditor is very much possible.
Lastly, follow your heart, make the best decisions for you its your life & I wish you the very best & luck!
make more researches!! alright...thanks |

vickertony: Evening, hope you are good.
I have seen your posts about writing ican or gmat etc
Like you am looking towards fall 2019,i have not written
any of the exams tho, I looked at MSc forensic accounting,
after school the job prospects are mainly government agencies stuffs like that, instead I have opted for
Management information system with the idea of working as a business analyst or under project management, different IT levels etc
FYI, I studied accounting just like you, not really interested in ican anyways, am not planning on working in this biosphere called Nigeria.
Mine is, write GRE AND TOEFL, Seek for funding /scholarships /graduate Assistantships
In all follow your heart, make more researches, I wish you the very best. Hello good evening...are you saying there are really no good prospects for forensic accountants? Because they can work as auditors and accountants too? |
