Popocarey: Plz I want to apply for Master in USA, I graduated with second class lower division. Please what are the procedures to go about it without using agent and cheap school There is this saying that says ''If we don't fight we have failed, but if we fight we can either fail or succeed''. So forget the tuition part for now and put in some work. First, you need to decide on the course you want to study, To save you some stress start from this website http://graddecision.org/ to know the application process, So step 1) Decide on the course you want to study 2) Search for schools using a) www.msinus.com (open this website with a laptop, you should see a list of school and ranking for some of the most common courses, you can start from there b) www.gradschools.com c) www.google.com (you can just type 'msc in bla bla in the us in google' d) www.usnews.com e) www.4icu.org . 3) check up the website of the schools you find, to see the requirements. most schools will require GRE and some will require both gre and toefl . 4) Register for standardize exam and take it. You can register for gre as soon as you are ready and prepared to take the exam. Its done online at www.ets.org. You can also get all the information you need about the exam on the website. You will get adequate materials to prepare for the exam in this dropbox I createdhttps://www.dropbox.com/sh/t9ot6d07hp1lkm7/ AADL_dTihjEvNBRCBsmAcoXja?dl=0 TOEFL is an English test required by some US universities. though, some schools waive due to the fact that Nigeria is an Anglophone country. For toefl, all you need are the speaking noteful videos in the link below, the ets toefl guide is enough to ace the exam for other sections. Just download the toefl ETS Guide from there website and the simulation test. https://www.dropbox.com/sh/45tvc3ifi8wh8sh/AACXR5j6l3nsWK8vZx5P28TVa?dl=0 As for the Tuition, if you have good results (GRE, GPA, Toefl), SOP and LOR; US schools do offer assistanship to graduate students. This can either be Research Assistant, Teaching Assistant or Administrative Assistant. Depending on the school, if you get an assistantship, your Tuition will be waived and you will also be paid a monthly stipend that can take care of your living expenses. One advice, once you shortlist schools, send emails to the grad cord of the schools and ask specific questions relating to that course and funding opportunities, be very explicit. Lastly, there are basically 2 admission session in the US, Spring (Jan) and Fall (August). Schools admit more students in Fall, so Its advisable you plan towards Fall 2018. If you plan to resume in fall 2018, make sure you submit all your application documents before ending of Dec 2017. If you don't give it a trial, you will never know.My philosophy in life is to always do my part, with that I don't get to regret later. Above all, if you believe in God,pray to him..if not, good for you. |

Capitas7: Oh, it's been a long time, and it's true that thread is closed now. There are slightly strict rules on this current thread where I'm replying you though.
The tuition and fees are the same for international and local students, even though it is on the high side (as I assume you know already). The school is good in general, and being a private institution, structures, equipment and student-faculty ratio makes you get what you pay for. I am currently not on WhatsApp, but if this was not helpful enough, please feel free, I'll be glad to advise (on any alternative medium). All the best. thank you so much...i really appreciate this...... please this is my email... m...if i encounter any thing that requires your knowlegde i will ask you.. i may mention u on another thread too ...thank you so much |

Kenyag: Hello Friends,
My brother got a fellowship which is accompained with a fully funded scholarship for a master's programme.
After series of discussions, the VO mentioned that the 1-20 carried personal funds, which he clarifed that the organization would be responsible for paying that to the school and handed the Organization's Statement of account to the VO, who gave him a white paper placing his status on Administrative Processing.
What should he do as school resumes on the 26th? He mentioned that the VO also said school resumed on the 26th hence he will hear from them.
Any advice friends?
N/B: He wasn't asked so much.
Why are you going to the U.S., Which univeristy, what would you be studying?, What courses would hou be taking?, who is funding it?, Any supporting document?, school resumes on the 26th you would hear from us within 7 days.
All the questions, he answered. good day bro...please what school did your brother choose? And how did he get to qualify for full funding fellowship |

Timotee: Do you mean student loan from Nigeria or student loan from the US? The VOs are well familiar with student loans from the US. However, as an international student, to obtain a student loan from the US, you have to have a creditworthy cosigner who is a US citizen or permanent resident. Getting a cosigner is quite difficult as people are scared, because if you default on the loan, the burden of the loan will fall on them and affect them adversely. Also, only private loans are available to international students, and as such, the interest rate is usually very high (depending on how creditworthy your cosigner is) and could range from 8% to as high as 15%. In summary, getting a loan as an international student is usually the very last resort. from nigeria ...because i dont have a cosigner |

TheSuperladyy: Evening Guys. My visa was approved on 18th July. I left Nigeria on 13th August. This is my Travel experience. It's coming late because I've had issues with accommodation since I arrived.
I traveled with Royal Air Maroc. We left Nigeria 6:05am On 13th of August. Got to Casablanca around 10am. Disembarking the plane, and the check at the RAM desk took a few minutes. I have to say at this point that, if you don't understand French or Arabic, you're going to have a hard time if your layover is in Casablanca.
Anyway, I got lost and couldn't locate the lounge. RAM also extended my layover time from 5 hours to about 9 hours without prior notice. It was very frustrating not locating the lounge, no food, no wi-fi and no familiar faces. I just located where we were supposed to board the Next flight and just stayed there. I sha cannot lost.
We eventually left Casablanca around 9pm, and arrived JFK at around 11PM American time. We spent about 30 minutes before we could disembark, then we stayed at the queue. The guy only asked where I was going, did my biometrics, asked if it was my first time, stamped my passport and wished me luck at school.
I almost got scammed by a cabman sha, but I found this nice Igbo man who helped me book Uber with his phone and I safely arrived at my hotel, NYLO in Manhattan. Spent a few days in New York, even took a sightseeing bus around town.
School resumes on Monday sha. Playtime is over. Trumpland is sweet.
I'll say this sha, if you're not strapped for cash or can stomach plenty wahala, don't take Royal Air Maroc o. congrats oooooooooooo....chai....i pray i get this oppurtunity too next year |

papilo90: I don't think you're doing it right. like if you have 83A in a 4 unit course, to fill that in. The 83 will enter into the space for grade, and 4 will enter into the space for credit. And so far its an unofficial conversion, you need not waste your time in outing the course titles. Just out your grades and the credits. thanks alot ...God bless you |

Below is my final transcript (Abuja)
Vo: Good morning Me: Good morning Vo: can I have your i20 and passport Me: passed it Vo: I can see that you're going to UL Me: yes please Vo: when did you graduate first degree Me: year 2011 Vo:what have you been doing since then Me: I went for the compulsory NYSC from nov 2011 to oct 2012, I Stated working with abc bank from apr 2013 to Jan 2018, then I joined bdc bank in feb 2018 till now Vo: so what will you do after this degree Me: I intend to come back to nigeria to work for 2 years after which I will start my own ict consulting company, did you know that online transactions in nigeria actually hit 86 trillion naira last year? Yes, it did and Q1 2018 is already at 36 trillion naira. This is a good sphere to play in and there are more challenges that needs solutions ( I mumbled jumbled a bit here) Vo: how much do you earn? Me: about 314k monthly Vo: how did you choose this school Me: it was recommended by a colleague of mine who also did his masters there, I researched the school for areas of interest and I matched with Dr. MT, I mailed him and he requested for my cv and test scores, he was impressed and recommended me to the grad cord Dr. AM who then advised me to apply. After perusing the documents and typing
Vo: I will hold on to this document for confirmation, if found false you and your uncle would be banned for 10 years, do you still want to submit it Me: yes definitely ( she returned my i20 and folded banks details into my passport and placed it aside) (Me don dey korinsinu--oluwa ese, na so devil rear head) Vo: wait, you've been denied in Lagos before? Me: yes, I was denied last year Vo: what was the reason Me:I wasn't given a reason but I was actually advised to reapply.(I had already started stammering. I wanted to say because I didn't give enough reason for ties but smth just gum my mouth) Vo: typed very fast and gave me white copy and said the remaining pick up stuffs Me: thank you so much.
Well, above is actually my sixth attempt, 5 in Lagos denied 1 in Abuja approved.
Don't give up, give it one more push. God is never late, if you know you know
My sneakers had no lace, forgot it in Lagos
Wore only a round neck and chinos
My hair and mustache was unkempt, didn't bother to cut it
