As the Housemates continue to settle into their respectful Houses, conversations are being had and connections are being sparked. Beauty and Groovy in particular seem to be a pair that shares a connection already. Beauty admitted to liking Groovy, but stated she does not want to cause trouble for him, because she realises that other ladies may be interested in pursuing something with him. Groovy is not complaining – and we’ve spotted some flirting on his side too, but he seems to be treading lightly. Last night at the Kitchen table, he gave Beauty a sip from his cup, then proceeded to rub her back, noting: “You seem to like massages”. Later, this flirtation hit a bump and turned a bit tense, resulting in hurt feelings and a subsequent apology. It all started when the Level 2 Housemates decided to play a game of ‘Truth or Dare’. Everything was going swimmingly until Beauty was dared to kiss Groovy, probably because their fellow Housemates are noticing the connection too? Groovy refused the kiss, leaving Beauty feeling slighted. She complained that Groovy was being uptight and left the game. Groovy then followed her to the bedroom and tried to explain why he had declined. “I feel like it’s a bit too early for this”. He continued to explain his reasoning, but when Beauty didn’t seem to let it go, he told her “If I am out of the picture, would it not be easier for you to do what you’re here to do?”. After a back and forth that saw the duo stating their respective positions, Beauty told him everything was confusing at this point. “I can be cranky for other things, but not this. This whole process is a lot for me,” she said. This morning, when cool heads had prevailed, Beauty found Groovy and asked for a chat, which he obliged to. She then apologised for overreacting. Groovy accepted the apology and the pair decided to restart their friendship. Later this morning, Groovy made sure to get Beauty everything she needed when she complained about feeling ill. “Maybe it’s malaria. Did you get a smoothie? Do you want one?,” he said. Are we seeing the makings of a ship here and will Beauty manage to snag Groovy? Only time will tell, but what we *are* going to do, is keep an eye on these two. https://exclusivebase.com.ng/bbnaija-groovy-refuses-to-kiss-beauty-as-things-get-tense-between-them/

A 43-year-old widower from Saselamani outside of Giyani south Africa locked two women inside his house and sexually assaulted them for hours. According to his neighbours, who were ready to burn the suspected witches, Alfred took quite an unusual route in handling the situation. “There was no doubt we caught them performing witchcraft, and they were supposed to be burned. On my way to work at around 4 AM, I saw the two naked women stuck inside Alfred’s yard.” “I called him to come out, and I was rounding up other community members to bring petrol and tires to do what needed to be done. Alfred said not to worry. He will deal with them his way and dragged them inside his house and locked the doors.” His neighbour, who wishes to remain anonymous, said he heard screams and moaning coming from the house, and Alfred was refusing to open the door. “I decided to call the police who arrived a few hours later. I thought if he killed them both alone, he was going to jail for murder as opposed to mob justice, the police came and kicked down the door, and it was something I’ve never seen before. The floor was wet with a mixture of his manly fluid and their womanly fluids. He had tied them to the table. He was acting like an animal.” Continue Reading Below: https://exclusivebase.com.ng/man-raped-two-witches-caught-in-his-backyard/

This was made known on Wednesday, in a statement signed by the National President, SSANU, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim, and General Secretary, Mr. Peter Adeyemi. The statement partly read, ‘‘In view of the fact that government is still a long way from effectively resolving the issues in contention, it is only expedient that we allow the process to be fully concluded before directing the end of the strike. Consequently, you are hereby informed that the strike has been extended by two months, within which we are hoping that all the contentious issues would have been effectively laid to rest. The two-month extension is with effect from Friday, June 24, 2022.’’ NASU/SSANU’s strike started with a warning strike of two weeks which commenced at the midnight on Sunday, March 27, 2022, while the extension of another two weeks commenced on Sunday, April 10, 2022, and it is still ongoing. The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnic(ASUP) has directed its members to resume work on Monday May 30, 2022 following the expiration of its two- week strike. The union said it took the decision following some progress made with the Federal Government regarding its demands. ASUP, in a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Abdullahi Yalwa disclosed that the government had met four of its demands. It said the decision to resume work was to give the federal government more time to meet the remaining five demands. The statement reads: “The two weeks definite strike of the union will be rounding off on the 29th of May, 2022 as agreed by the emergency meeting of NEC. “Consequently, the union is requesting members to resume duties effective 30th of May, 2022 while hoping that government will take advantage of the window to address the five outstanding items. “Further directives/ updates shall be released after the 103rd meeting of NEC which is scheduled to hold in the month of June, 2022 during which the situation shall be reviewed.” ASUP, on May 16, commenced a two -week definite warning strike following the resolution of its emergency National Executive Council meeting of 11th of May, 2022. The union had said the decision was taken to protest the lethargic attitude of the government towards fulfilling some aspects of the memorandum of action (MoA) signed in 2021. Within the period of the action, the government commenced the payment of arrears of the new minimum wage in all affected Federal Polytechnics. The government also approved and released regulatory instruments for accreditation of institutions, management and programmes. Also, a decision was taken on the vexed issue of victimisation of union officials in Institute of Management and Technology, Enugu where five of ASUP members were dismissed due to their participation in the 2017 strike of the Union. And the issue of continued infractions in the Federal Polytechnics Act as typified by the release of a contentious template for appointment of principal officers by the Federal Ministry of Education was also handled as the document is due to be withdrawn as agreed. Outstanding demands of ASUP include: release of the approved N15bn revitalisation fund for the sector; release of arrears of CONTISS 15 migration for the lower cadre and the release of the Scheme of Service and Conditions of Service. Others include: continued delay in the appointment of substantive Rectors for Federal Polytechnics in Mubi, Offa, and Kaduna and resolution of issues with members in Colleges of Agriculture. https://exclusivebase.com.ng/asup-suspends-strike-directs-members-to-resume-work-monday/

Irate attackers in Sokoto have just roasted a Christian female student of Shehu Shagari College of Education in Wamako, witnesses told Peoples Gazette. The deceased, identified only as Ms Deborah, was accused of passing unflattering comments about Prophet Mohammed on campus. Following immediate threats to her safety, she was immediately evacuated to the security post of the school, according to a student who witnessed the development and passed its preliminary details to The Gazette. But the mob pursued her to the security post and overpowered the personnel there. The witness’ information has not been independently verified by The Gazette, but a video has already circulated online showing how the student was set alight. Sokoto police spokesman Sanusi Abubakar declined comments about the incident when reached by The Gazette. Authorities have issued a statement announcing immediate closure of the school over the fracas that broke out following Ms Deborah’s murder. Killing over blasphemy has been a recurring crisis across northern Nigeria for years, but authorities have not been able to address the situation. Culprits are usually not arrested, or released shortly after being taken into custody in the predominantly Muslim region. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) early Monday morning extended the ongoing strike by 12 weeks. The decision was taken at an emergency National Executive Council (NEC) held at ASUU Secretariat in Abuja. The emergency meeting, which had in attendance principal officers and branch chairmen, started on Sunday and ended early Monday morning. The two month rollover strike declared in March 14, 2022 by ASUU ended today (May 9th), thus NEC felt the need to extend it by 12 weeks after initial agitation for indefinite strike because of failure to address the issues in contention. The implication of the extension of the strike is that public universities would remain close. At the last meeting with government negotiation team led by Prof. Nimi Briggs, ASUU officials worked out but there is indication that the both parties would meet next week. ASUU’s demands include the non-implementation of the Memorandum of Action (MoA) signed with government in December 2020 on funding for revitalisation of public universities (both federal and states), renegotiation of the 2009 FGN/ ASUU Agreement and the deployment of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution (UTAS). Other outstanding issues are earned academic allowances; state universities, promotion arrears, withheld salaries, non-remittance of third-party deductions and rejection of UTAS that ASUU technical team developed to replace the Integrated Personnel Payroll Information System (IPPIS). https://exclusivebase.com.ng/ASUU-nec-to-extends-rollover-strike-by-12-weeks/

Asisat Oshoala has been stripped of the Super Falcons’ captaincy 30 months after being handed the armband by former coach of the Nigeria’s women senior national team Chris Danjuma. In September 2019, Chris Danjuma took the Super Falcons’ armband from Desire Oparanozie due to her fallout with those in charge of the Nigerian Football Federation. Desire Oparanozie made some comments which did not go well with the country’s football chiefs and an order was sent for her to be stripped of the captaincy. Luckily for Asisat Oshoala, she was named the captain of the Super Falcons inspired the Nigerian women team to Turkish Women’s Cup triumph. Why was Asisat Oshoala stripped Super Falcons’ captaincy? According to the report on Sportsnewsafrica, the Nigerian Football authorities gave the directives and passed it to Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum ahead of their friendly with Canadian women national team. “We have no issue whatsoever with Asisat [Oshoala] but thoughts of stripping her of the armbard came after Aisha Buhari Cup last September,” said a high-ranking official, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. “This is not for anything negative but for troubling concerns of seeing her struggle in national team colours. We and the coach [Waldrum] observed the captaincy is weighing her down and affecting her play. With or without it, we believe she is a true professional player and should not struggle to prove otherwise by delivering on the pitch.” Although the Lagos-born star has been in breathtaking form for Barcelona, boasting of 19 goals in 16 games, she is yet to hit the net for Nigeria in last six outings since her treble against Equatorial Guinea in Turkey in February 2021. As captain, she starred and inspired the Super Falcons to Turkish Women’s Cup triumph but could not help the team to avoid missing a third consecutive Olympics and also lost the maiden Aisha Buhari Cup title to South Africa. Who will become next captain of the Super Falcons? The report added that strong defender Onome Ebi has been introduced as the new captain of the Super Falcons considering her being an experienced player. Onome Ebi begins her reign as the new captain of the Super Falcons against Canada in Vancouver while CSKA Moscow forward Ordega will remain the assistant. https://exclusivebase.com.ng/asisat-oshoala-stripped-of-super-falcons-captaincy-after-directives-from-nff/

Ogbomoso Kingmakers Finally Select RCCG Pastor, Afolabi Ghandi As Next Soun of Ogbomoso The Ogbomoso Kingmakers have finally ratified the UK-based RCCG pastor, Afolabi Ghandi from the Laoye family as their shortlisted candidate for the next Soun of Ogbomosoland. The nation newspaper reports that the family had a tough time screening the 25 interested applicants to a manageable number of three, for kingmakers to make the final selection Successful sons in the Laoye family globally showed interest in mounting the throne of their forefathers. They include businessmen, top civil servants, other professionals and military officers. But one of them, who is a pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Jesus House Washington DC, United States (US), Afolabi Ghandi Laoye, eventually got the nod of the kingmakers to be enthroned as the next Soun of Ogbomoso. For fear of being accused of bias, the family heads reportedly had difficulty screening the candidates. The Laoye family has 10 sub-units; hence, it was difficult to talk any candidate to step down for others since it is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. The declaration recognises five ruling houses – Aboru-Maku, Gbagun, Laoye, Bolanta and Odunaro – with the throne rotating among the five in that order. Late Oba Oyewunmi hailed from the Gbagun family. Due to their inability to pick a consensus candidate from the contestants, they referred all of them to kingmakers for selection. It was gathered that about 18 of the candidates were shortlisted and invited for interview by the kingmakers to Ogunlola Hall, but others who were not invited joined them. Besides, it was learnt that the town’s development association – the Ogbomoso Parapo – advised the kingmakers to avoid any approach capable of attracting legal action from among contenders or other interested persons. This made the kingmakers interview all of them. The only contender that could not attend the interview, having gone on a business trip, was said to have been interviewed on the phone. Also, a representative of Ogbomoso North Local Government under whose purview the throne operates attended the interview as an observer. At the end of the interview, the contenders were screened to two. They are Lt. Col. Sirajdeen Laoye and US-based Pastor Afolabi Olaoye. Then, the four kingmakers were said to have been divided over the two candidates. They opted for voting and each candidate was supported by two kingmakers each, meaning a tie. The head of kingmakers resorted to using his Casting Vote Right (power to have an additional vote) to resolve the tie. His vote went for the pastor; hence he scored three, while the military officer scored two. Reports have it that, although the chieftaincy declaration stipulates that six members shall constitute the kingmakers’ council, one kingmaker passed on about six weeks ago while another one is still in the process of having his installation as a kingmaker officially confirmed, thereby leaving the number at four. He was said to have been installed a kingmaker by the late Oba Oyewunmi, but the formalisation of his papers is yet to be completed. The declaration also stipulates that four members of the council shall form a quorum for decision-making, but that the head of the council shall have an extra vote in case of a tie. Pastor Laoye’s name has since been forwarded to the local government for onward recommendation to the governor for approval. Among those who contested for the throne were Princes Gbolahan Idowu Oyegoke, Sirajdeen Lawal Olaoye, Tirimisiyu Gbolagade Bello, Abayomi Isaac Jacob Oyewusi, Gbadamosi Taofeek Lawal Olaoye, Mohammed Gazali Jamiu Oyetunde, Isiaka Oluwasegun Lasisi, Ismail Kayode Olaoye and Olabode Akeem Olayide Olaoye. Others were: Musibau Adeniran Alimi, Amusa Felix Bello, Peter Olatunde Olaoye, Abubakar Abduganiyu Akano, Johnson Olusola Olaoye, Taofeek Adeyemi Akorode Olaoye and Olalekan Olaoye, Afolabi Ghandi Olaoye, Badmus Babatunde Olaoye, Abdulrahman Hamzat Adebayo, Sirajdeen Akorode Olaoye and Muhammed Nurudeen Bello Olaoye. Recall, the former Soun of Ogbomoso, the late Oba Jimoh Oyewunmi, joined his ancestors on December 12 last year after which the position became vacant. https://exclusivebase.com.ng/ogbomoso-kingmakers-finally-select-rccg-pastor-afolabi-ghandi-as-next-soun-of-ogbomoso/

The Student Union of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, has given lecturers in the university 72 hours ultimatum to withdraw from the ongoing strike embarked on by the Academic Staff Union of Universities. ASUU had, on February 14, embarked on a four-week warning strike over the failure of the Federal Government to honour the 2009 agreements it reached with the union and the rot in universities. The union also extended the strike action by another eight weeks on March 14. But the Student Union of LAUTECH in a statement, on Friday, by the President, Anuoluwa Adeboye, and Public Relations Officer, Gabriel Michael, said students of the university had suffered too much from previous incessant strike actions. They added that the ongoing strike had also made the fresh graduates of the school to miss being mobilised for the National Youth Service Corps orientation programme in March. The students said they had requested a dialogue with the ASUU, LAUTECH branch on why the union chose to join the national strike but stated that the union had refused to address them. The statement read, “In light of this, if by now the leadership of ASUU LAUTECH can’t honour the open dialogue address from the Student Union between ASUU LAUTECH and LAUTECH students and they are claiming they are fighting for the Ladokites’ interest at the federal level, we are saying it is enough. “We are giving the leadership of ASUU LAUTECH 72 hours to borrow a leaf from ASUU KWASU that wrote a special letter to the national ASUU based on the peculiarity of their institution and to opt out of this ongoing strike or else the Student Union will be left with no choice other than to see ASUU LAUTECH as a sabotage to the progress of LAUTECH and Ladokites due to their selfish interest. “Confrontation will not cease after 72 hours might have lapsed and the interest of Ladokites is not protected.” https://exclusivebase.com.ng/lautech-students-give-lecturers-72-hour-ultimatum-to-opt-out-of-ASUU-strike/
