^^ lol

So no one cares about the Spurs and the Suns?  grin Bawo maybe you should adopt those teams.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5167188
Antoine Walker is trying to make a comeback into the NBA  . . . well, he's got bills and debts to pay to his bookie  grin.

The Suns are my team (well a no brainer since i live in Phx). The guys are peaking at the right time and balling like mad. Dragic set a record tonight too;

Goran Dragic was feeling it in Game 3. According to Elias Sports Bureau, his 26 points in 17 minutes of action is the most points scored by a player who played fewer than 20 minutes in a postseason game in the shot-clock era.
Computers / Re: Pls Guys How Can I Open I Blog Site by shoggy24(m): 9:17pm On Dec 10, 2009
It is better to have your domain name as oppose to just being a web user on and other such services. because you can make money from it by advertising on your own domain.
I have used http://afrowebservers.com for a while now and they have a lot of web applications like wordpress you can deploy in minutes by yourself, with a few mouse clicks.

Nairaland / General / Re: CNN: Hospitalised Nigerian President (Umaru Yar'adua) Not Stepping Down. by shoggy24(m): 3:34am On Nov 30, 2009
@bariga
Clamoring for coup is a stupid notion. Assuming a military take over doesn't result in civil strife, you can be sure sanctions would hit Nigeria from all angles. How exactly has the military rule helped Nigeria. I guess you can mouth off since you are based in the UK and dont give a rat's ass about your people back home.

Car Talk / Re: Interpol/Nigeria Police Setup Checkpoints In Abuja (Is Lagos next?) by shoggy24(m): 9:12pm On Sep 22, 2009
A-town:

Anyway its been tough since 9/11. Pre 9/11, it used to be rentals. I think what they do now is to get the cars to Mexico and ship from them. Just a thought

That would be the most logical explanation since Mexican authorities can easily be bribed. But you can be sure if you take one car to Mexico and return to file insurance claim, You are not going to do it again in a long time. Not only will your insurance shoot-up but you will probably be tagged an insurance risk, because the taking of cars to Mexico only to come back and report it stolen is an old scam.
Car Talk / Re: Interpol/Nigeria Police Setup Checkpoints In Abuja (Is Lagos next?) by shoggy24(m): 5:28am On Sep 22, 2009
Fhemmmy:

I wish Nigerians can use all the brain to develop things and not just use it to destroy the name, Nigeria.
The security is tighter, however, only at the airport.
The stolen cars are not just from the USA, but from almost anywhere in the world.
I know no security is foolproof and i can also see how it will be easier for them to ship out items from the states than bringing it in. Still as someone who has shipped from the states, not a lot of those vehicles could have come from there.
What would they do, forge a document to address the lien on it?
Change the chassis number of a stolen one? No history raises a red flag.
Not to mention the authorities don't need Carfax report to get the 411 on a vehicle. They have it at their fingertips, including infos you will not get from Carfax like DUI/parking/speeding ticket related to that car.
Heck it is even difficult for those who drives into Mexico, sell their car and come back to the US to file insurance claim that their car has been stolen.
This is not the first time this kind of interpol/local police joint ops has being carried out in 9ja. I remember one was carried out, like what, 10 years ago. So they are well aware and have addressed a lot of the loop holes.
I cant speak for other countries, so you are right that it is not from US alone.

Fhemmmy:

They are stealing rides from Nija to sell in Cotonue, so what else is new.

I am sure that is the easiest.

I hope they extend it to Lagos, maybe it will reduce the traffic situation. grin

oge4real:

This is a welcome news, but I think they should have done this at the ports and borders to limit the burden of loss to the importers and not to innocent buyers.
Abi!! you would think that would have being the smarter move.

Like Posa has being asking, i am also curious on how you can actually export a stolen car out of the US. Maybe it would have being easier back in those days but the security is tighter and it is a lot harder.
I hope the owner of the seized cars are asking for proof that their car is actually stolen.
Family / Re: Wrong decision by shoggy24(m): 5:05pm On Sep 02, 2009
Look, if you don't have any feelings for her, let her go. Sure counseling is good, talking to each other would help but sometimes they don't.

Life is too short, forget religious sentiments and morality as defined by "society/family", this line of thinking is what got some psycho killing their spouses, all in the name of i don't want to divorce. Get the F out of a relationship that doesn't work and save both you and her the agony of trudging through life in sadness. You are not helping anyone by "managing" the marriage, certainly not her, hopefully there is no kid involved.

The news i just heard from someone who was an eye witness said it was the husband baba Suwe that actually beat the woman to death. Could this be true? Did anyone else hear that?

That is probably rumors, in any case it is a job for the police.

i guess this means i can now accept all TOLA'z gifts, the return ticket to abuja from MUSA and still kip my baby'z (IFEANYI) ring grin grin
Oh,You mean you girls weren't like that before smiley
I wonder how those data were collated, i am guessing by birth in most country seeing how population census data can be skewed in third world/developing countries. Personally i think it almost half both ways considering their is higher number of males dying than females (War, gangs etc). Just natures way of telling everybody that there is someone out there for you.
Romance / Re: Can You Date A 16 Year Old Girl? by shoggy24(m): 11:45pm On Aug 24, 2009
chiogo:

I'm not saying 16-yr-old girls don't have sex but when they do it with a guy in the same age group, nobody goes to jail and it's not considered statutory rape.

You may want to get your facts right about statutory rape, depending on where he is. I don't think he will be committing carnal abuse. England and some state in the US age of consent is 16yrs old and statutory rape as defined by law is - sexual intercourse with a person (girl or boy) who has not reached the age of consent (even if both parties participate willingly).
You think his is bad, check out this old gizzard http://abcnews.go.com/GMA/story?id=3305652&page=1.
Romance / Re: Can You Date A 16 Year Old Girl? by shoggy24(m): 11:35pm On Aug 24, 2009
Although i dont really get why you would want to date a 16 year, i can understand if she concealed it before and only just let you know. God knows a lot of dude in the states have criminal records because of lies like that.
There are more than enuff girls for you to pick from but who am i to judge you and no one here certainly has the right to call you a perv.
Actually i wouldn't go that far considering some states in the US considers 16yrs, old enough to have sex. check out this site http://www.ageofconsent.com/ageofconsent.htm
My advise would be to let her go and hangout with other 16,17 and 18 yrs old, i don't care how old or big she looks. She is still going to act her age because it is only natural.

On a side note, where did they get their data on Nigeria from? 13yrs old!!!!!! Now that is pedophilia.
Politics / Re: Amnesty: Militants Demand N3bn For Arms by shoggy24(m): 5:48pm On Aug 05, 2009
I cant believe some idiots are actually saying pay this guys. The moment the Govt succumbs and pay them is the beginning of the end for this country. Not only can they go out and buy another set of "more" sophisticated arms with this money but every AK47, pump action and even shakabula owner in Nigeria will want to follow suit.
Politics / Re: Fashola Warns Mend by shoggy24(m): 12:31pm On Jul 16, 2009
smooooooth:

i support the cause that mend is fighting for, and i dont blame them for carrying guns to communicate. many pipu have argued against their carrying

arms, and suggested that they dialogue with govt, but they seem to forget that this pipu have been pleading with govt for years, some who

tried to speak louder than others, were even silenced by govt. the only thing this insensitive govt hears is force, either in the way of protest, strike, or war

but then i must be quick to condemn their recent attack on lagos. and like fashola said, i hope it was a mistake and shld not repeat itself, they shld turn

their anger to the right quarters, boom abuja, kaduna, kano, or minna, and they will definately get the attention they seek.

You are kidding right?
Nothing justifies it, in a country with a rule of law. No matter how bad things are you don't resort to killing others to get your message accross. It is only a matter of time before other tribes get sponsors and if you think they cant afford sophisticated weapons, think again. Weapons manufacturer will look for a way to get it to them.
You think the international community are on their side, you think they will even give them asylum when they start to run? Some of you can sit there and talk or justify the bombing of lagos but if you dont have the support of the yorubas, you will not succeed. book it.
imho, amnesty or not, i dont think this will go away. This thieves will not surrender after this easy money making schemes, which is nothing but armed robbery in disguise.

When Fashola, his Yoruba brothers and their chief conterpart ,the Hausas were busy looting, exploiting, embezling  and maginalising the Niger deltans , it was fine , now MEND simply Bombed something that Niger deltan's money was used  to build, the Shameless Gov Fashola is on press making useless noise and empty threat .

Mend did a highly commendable job, I advice them to move over here and bomb the Fct, Kano , Kaduna, Jos, Borno and Niger state. they should aslo bomb some other places in the west, lagos is not enough and their last week attack was too small.

It is talk like this that incites; stupid and thoughtless, you are sitting in Abuja and mouthing off, why not go in the street and show your bravado.
Politics / Re: MEND Attacks Lagos by shoggy24(m): 4:04am On Jul 14, 2009
Amazing how some fools canvass for resolution by violence. What do you think will happen if that resolution is reached (assuming it meets their demand) you think this thieves that are used to obtaining by blackmail and kidnapping will surrender all their weapons? and every one of them will go home satisfied? If you do then you are the biggest slowpoke on the planet.

Mend attacking other states is just incurring the wrath of the rest of the nation. Their extension to this part of the country is nothing short of a desperate move to force the hands of the government, in a war they know they are loosing. will it work? I doubt it, because the moment the government cave and meet the demand of a bunch of armed area boys/ ex political thugs, then there is no telling who else will take up arms in the name of freedom fighters.

Even if she does, you still want the owner on the documents approval or presence. He can come back tomorrow and reclaim his property. tell her to have her husband do a change of ownership to her. I seriously doubt that under the law she has the right to sell it with him alive.
