Okay. I once had P3497 and that was what I changed and also cleaned the rocker arm pressure switches. Your engine not being exact replica is a concern.

Good evening. Use a 2008 Honda Accord V6 coupe which I recently had the engine and gear changed.
Gear switches perfectly but noticed the engines idles roughly in the morning for about 4 minutes after which it starts working well once I switch it off and on again. Car has been acting like this for about a week and works well during the day with occasional loss of power. It was scanned and the code given was P3400 and P3497 and also P0443 occasionally.
The engine oil has been changed and the oil pressure sensor has also been changed but car still idles roughly every morning which the old engine never does.
I will appreciate any help from the house please...

P3400, P3497 - VCM/Oil pressure sensor - Rear and Front respectively, change both. Meanwhile, ensure your engine oil is not short and right viscosity.

I can relate with this. Had a similar experience with my Accord DC but it was the alternator pulley that got stuck. I drove the car and parked the day before...no issues. Next morning car wont crack, sounded like a dead battery, just click click.

Day1 - Got a new battery, same issue. Battery guy said its kick starter. Left car at home, went to work.
Day2 - Mech came, changed kick starter, same issue. Mech said he has to open top engine, will be back with his tools and boys the next day.
Day3 - Mech came prepared with his boys. In the process of getting ready to open top engine, he removed serpetine belt. Voila he noticed alternator was stuck. Na so God saved my engine and pocket as well...lucky me.

This took me back down memory lane...cruising Pops 190E stick drive as a teenager .

My car is this same grey color. I wanted to get an SUV before but the way the pandemic slowed down things, I'd be sticking to the accord for a while.

The accord is already sexy but I want to love-vendor it up a little and make it sexier. I'm aiming to achieving this look.

Grey is beautiful...its my favorite color.
That above is similar to mine...EX-L model. The tint is cool and the wheels give it higher ground clearance.

Looking for higher ground clearance? The modification I did to increase ground clearance was change front struts to after market Monroe V6 struts and staggered rear tyres to 225/55.

I would have loved to install a DVD with rear view camera in mine but then I will loose some cool functions like trip computer etc.

I do plan to change the dashboard and interior door trims to wood Formica at some point.

Two years back I was in same dilemma.

No regrets with the Accord till date. Performance is fantastic. Fuel consumption is superb. Reliability is great, depends on how you use and maintain the car.

Should you settle for the Honda ensure to use recommended fluids, OEM parts (toks or new) and avoid bad fuel in order to prolong lifespan of its emission components.

Also have a personal scanner handy to scan for fault codes and avoid quack mechanics.

This is commendable. Its cool you know the theoretical basis of car painting.

Last time I painted my car, I spent much time with the painter to ensure a good paint job. I must admit car painting is no mean feat.

I advise you visit a local paint shop to see how things are done and also plan to get a second hand to assist. If possible pay a painter's apprentice to assist you. You don't want to do this all alone, do you?

I don't know if anyone has experienced this and got it fixed. Although it looks trivial but I just want it fixed.

For those who are familiar with 8th generation Civic (2006-2011) instrument cluster. The speedometer, fuel gauge and temperature gauge is digital with a blue light background which makes the display visible any time of the day.

The issue is that my own blue light background is not lightening so in the afternoon when the sun is shining bright I faintly see the temperature and fuel gauge against the dark background while the speedometer is even barely visible at all. In the night I can see all clearly cos everywhere is dark.

What could make the blue light background not coming on and how can I get it back on...I love seeing my speedometer when I'm on the highway. It gives me joy.

Have u tried to manually increase the brightness? There is a + ve button at left side of dashboard (close to driver door) for this.
