dcole73:CEL means Check Engine Light and normally comes up at turn of ignition to ON position (note this) then go off after starting d engine (note this as well). When check engine light is permanently on it may indicate a simple problem that is easy to fix – such as a loose fuel cap. Or, it may be a warning of a more serious problem. CEL is the first yellow light at top left corner in image below.

mayor2013:Very correct. Regular maintenance is key using appropriate fluids and parts. You cannot abuse this car, it will disappoint and abuse ur pocket big time if u do. Ensure CEL is not on to enjoy optimum performance...the vtec mode is thrilling! It has never got me stranded. |
Opeexclusive04:No wonder! Recently at Abj airport, the uber guy (got to knw afterwards) came to arrivals and asked codedly if I was looking for a taxi then later said 'bros abeg if anybody ask questions, jst talk say I come pick you'. I ended up paying 3K5 for the off line trip to wuse2. I actually thought he was a company driver at first. |
banky3w:TBH...I was actually relating his ordeal to similar experiences driving in Lagos. However, if am to guess I would say Op is in Lagos, might be wrong though. |
Meetleader:Lol...goto any auto painter, carry small empty water bottle along. They fit dash u small seff. An auto painter used it on my ride and since then I have been using it. Try it and see, works well...dnt b discouraged bro. Trust me, I won't recommend it if otherwise. I cherish my cars a lot. |
Op, I can relate...driving in Lagos is crazzy. I try as much as possible to avoid 'self inflicted injury' on my ride. However, no matter how careful one is, it's just a matter of time b4 one madd driver will scratch/bash your ride; My new ride was parked in the compound when a female neighbour reversed and bashed the fender. A learner colleague wanted to pull out of the parking lot and scratched the bumper big time. A danfo had stuck accelerator and rammed into several cars in traffic, had a long side scratch as a result. Paint thinner works best in removing scratch paint from car. |
It's high time banks positioned snipers strategically outside the bank environment but with a clear view of the premises. A good sniper would have dropped those mfuckers one by one. RIP to the dead! |
Custom can stop any car on Naija road no matter the age or bought brand new, it is the driver's responsibility to prove without doubt that such car is exempted from custom duty. Op, you have to know your rights as per driving a car registered over 7yrs ago. If possible have a print out of such policy handy. |
pitastephen:Attempting emergency stop at highway speed, braking distance is quite long. Meaning say the brake no dey too sharp to come to a stop at high speed (140Km/hr to zero). Its even worse if you carry much weight or passengers. But the brake sharp wella if u dey drive within the city. You may not notice this probably untill you drive another car (not jalopy ooo) under same conditions. It feels normal and you get used to it. |
Carshopper:I like the fact that u guys are carrying out feasibility study. Another area u guys need to look into is how to scale out and handle growth when u kick off. Do you want to start with a few x amount of cars and gradually scale out or go big bang?? The more cars you have in your fleet the more difficult management gets. This is a reason companies fail, simply because they failed to plan ahead thereby biting more than they can chew. I am sure a lot of people are waiting for this to kick off because Gazzuzz is involved My 2cents as a potential investor! |
The Honda Civic is a very reliable and durable car with very superb fuel economy. It is a light weight car that will easily dust most similar I4s (don't try this with V6s...jejely respect the 1.8L engine). It becomes unstable at very high speeds of above 140Km/hr (been there, done that). The stopping power is also a concern for me at high speeds. Parts full Oyingbo, I carry out servicing and repairs there using OEM toks parts. It's legs do not pull like the accord. AC is super cool and efficient. Annoying issues are sagging roof liner, deteriorating windshield liner that may result in rain dripping into car. Treat this car rightly and it will hardly breakdown on you. |
timifakay:Jeez! That's over 600 'tausand' KMs! I assume odo is in miles. |
Mods pls stop pushing this type of inappropriate thread to front page. It hurts to see an innocent baby in such condition. I doubt u guys have one! |
Some of these chelsea players no even get shame, clapping at fans...for what nah! |
This morning, while driving, I was listening to an official of the LCC (which is owned by Tinubu by the way) on Rythm 93.7 talking about opening the 2nd Lekki Toll Gate (the 1 after Cheveron) - in order for them to recoup their money invested in building that Lekki-Epe expressway on time. They are already mounting gigantic digital billboards on top of the toll plaza at chevron second toll gate. Sad...so so sad! |
You have to be exceptionally good to be hired in this situation (the oil stain alone says a lot about your type of person). People do wait all day to be interviewed so you have to be prepared for the worst you can think of. I once went for an entry level interview and was delayed for a long time. At the end I was offered transport fare which I gladly accepted. Did I get the job, yes I did. |
@Ogunvic41, kindly send ur partner T&Cs to.... Thxs in anticipation. |
Keep ur corolla, buy the highlander and resell at a profit. |
I was at Sooperrescue's garage earlier today to decarbonise my engine that has been pinging at high RPM as a result of excessive carbon build up. Overall I am satisfied at his professionalism and competence; he calmly answered ALL my enquiries regarding the process. Now I can drive swiftly without the engine pinging. I also noticed a much more quiet engine at idle, improved performance and better throttle response. Even the AC feels cooler (probably in my mind sha...Lol). It is definitely worth every penny. Amazingly, I got a free engine air filter when he observed mine was due for change and also got complimentary car wash (in and out) as value added services. Oga Patrick thanks for a job well done and the freebies! Jah bless!

What year is your car?? Modern honda city uses CVT fluid. Confirm what your car use before you waste money buying DW1. Cc: luvinhubby |
Sharp kid! I think he was also very smart to run away from the approaching truck. |
