These are not appropriate question to ask on Privatisation of Govt Enterprises. While they were owned by Govt, it was draining public resources, no contribution of revenue to government coffers but draining our budgets. Selling them freed government spending on them so Govt spends on infrastructure. AP at that time was only paying salaries. Most of their filling stations were dysfunctional. AP is now Forte Oil, better by far by all indices. Did you visit Ikoyi hotel on Alfred Rewane before it was sold, do you see ho multinationals currently utilise it maximally now that it's Southern Sun with better brand, better services?

Africa Petroleum has now turned Otedola to one of the richest men in the world. Ashaka cement now being run with huge profit by the multinationamultinational firm La Farge. Southern SunSun Ikoyi is doing beautifully well. Etc etc
