The moment CBN governor can tell the President to his face..'Oga, we have to devalue & give Naira it's true Value'. That way, at true Naira value, you can get your USD like before from the bank if you can afford it. The black market will then not have attraction. The parallel or black market is the place to go now for most of the USD demands by Nigerians

Another flip flop..This is clearly CBN immediate response to the FEC order that they should tweak the foreign exchange policy.

My observation and projection:
1. It will give interim stability to the daily galloping ride of the Naira to the USD;

2. Weekly sales to BDCs via Travellex will reduce;

3. It will reduce the rate at which our foreign reserves have been increasing of recent.

4. Signals we will have devaluation soon from the official rate of 305 to band within 375-400 Naira to 1 USD

I hope there won't be problem withdrawing foreign currencies and any idea if there's limit to withdrawal?

The standard Cbn rule is that you can make withdrawals 'subject to availability'. There is no law in maximum amount you can withdraw. From experience, try & look for branches that have regular cash USD so that you can conveniently withdraw when you so require

All Nigerian Banks charge to operate their USD Accounts.

Especially now that many accounts are used to trade in foreign exchange by Nigerians.

I Know GTB and Diamond Bank have attractive Dom Account operations, since i think you do more of sending from abroad than sending out of Nigeria.

Diamond bank charges 0.25% on withdrawals while GTB charges 0.50%.

Diamond Bank is fast with processing inflows, usually same day you transfer from US/Canada/Europe. GTB on average takes 2 working days

In layman terms, Portfolio Investments come into the country for making short term financial gains in financial assets such as buying equities on stock exchange, govt bonds-treasury bills, mutual funds etc. They not here for long term gains.

However,FDIs come into the country to invest in business operations & physical asstlets and usually for long term basis

Anytime you say publicly you will not devalue the Naira..The parallel market goes on spikes and it gets devalued on the streets where most businesses now get their dollars;

You keep enriching the few that can obtain forex from CBN at your 'Im not Devaluing artificial rate';

You keep widening incomes of those with such arbitrage privileges..

You can try again using DSS or a special military force..it can only get worse..
