Sincerely, no loose end for not providing a police report. You don't need it.

Good day great people.
Please I need directions on how to move by public transport from IOM Ikeja GRA to force cid annex ALAGBON Lagos
Kindly note that I do not reside in Lagos, so a concise description will be well appreciated. Thank you in advance.
Do you really need this if you are applying for a study permit?

Please my people Help me out urgently
I got the response on my application after 10weeks through my agent that
" I have concerns that you have provided a fraudulent or inappropriately obtained letter of acceptance from Niagara college in your application ....."
I would like to provide you with opportunity to respond. You will have 7days from the date of this letter to submit evidence and documentation you deem will address these concerns
I still have questions about whether or not the agent got you into this.

I think there is no "fake" agent that will let you see this knowing fully well that he has done you evil.

Did you provide the LOA to the agent?

I am just reasoning based on what you wrote here?

I didn't say people should avoid Schengen! I said a transit visa is needed if having lay overs in two Schengen countries. If you are having a lay over in just one Schengen country, you don't need a transit visa.

Turkey is not part of Schengen, it is never a part of EU and not even in Europe.

Turkey is an Asian country.

Please why do people with degree prefer to apply to colleges than universities
Perhaps because they have recognized that:
1. Colleges do offer some of the things universities offer, e.g bachelor's degree, PGD, and what they want does not necessarily need one to attend a university.

2. Nigerian professors have brainwashed us that university is the best. We failed to recognize and acknowledge what colleges are the best at.

3. Colleges are far better when it comes to employability in terms of employment and professional courses in a very short time. What chance does BSc Psychology have where Diploma in Nursing is? What chance does BSc Chemistry stand where Certificate in Carpentry is? Can you say MSc Software Engineering is better than PostGrad Cert in Software Engineering?

Example is University of Western Ontario is in collaboration with Fanshawe College to run their Nursing program even though they know that Fanshawe offers Diploma in Nursing which will lead to RPN. UWO offers B NSc. that leads to RN. UWO recognizes Fanshawe's mastery in that field and embraces it to at least foster their first two years. This is great wisdom.

I don't have my transcript. Can I apply with my Original Bsc Degree Certificate?
I believe the school you are applying to is in the best position to give you a definitive answer.

My opinion is that it is rare to find a school that won't use transcript for admission if at all such school exists.

Your O'level certificate is what is referred to as High School Diploma

Submit both the original certificate and result. Some schools do request for scratch card.

If they need more they should contact you or contact them and ask them to explain better.

As an international student, owing to the scarcity of student jobs in the Kitchener-Waterloo-Cambridge region, will Cambridge be a better option to finding student jobs? Maybe as a result of not having as many students compared to the other regions?
You may target by population of the city. Cities with population of 300k and more are good. Note that rent increases in proportion to the population of city. Also, do not overlook the small towns.

Perhaps you may want to redefine what you call "student job" and do things differently.

In my opinion, Kitchener has more population than Cambridge.

Tips:

1. You may target jobs like customer care rep., call center agent, PSW, HSW, DSW, production/manufacturing job (this is high energy intensive but pays well), sales rep. etc.

2. Remove your bachelor degree or HND from your CV, use High School Cert or 2 year post secondary diploma at maximum: else, they would say you are overqualified. Nobody is going to call you.

3. Have each CV tailored to each job role.

Good evening to all in the group.

I need all your kind advice and guidance on this matter.like I said earlier on this group an agent is assisting for our application.
The main applicant which is my wife and two children has been asked to proceed with their medicals.
The three that were given approval for applied as students while as the spouse the agent did visiting visa instead of the Spousal Open Working Permit (SOWP)
Peradventure my visa is approved will I be able to convert the vising visa to SOWP when I get to Canada.Since my wife is an holder of a student study permit.
Please I need your input here the guru's in the group most especially the ones already in Canada.
Thanks in anticipation.
I believe you have been given many responses once before.

Again, you should apply for SOWP now. If peradventure your visitor visa is approved, you will still need to apply for SOWP if you intend to work.

Do you know your family could become PR holders even before your wife graduates if you hold a SOWP?

No. You dont even need IELTS in most colleges. However you will still need WES anyways for PR application. So you can go ahead and do WES.
Your information is correct but kindly let me call your attention to the fact that he will only need WES if applying for PR but without a Canadian qualification as highest qualification.

If a Canadian qualification will be used as a highest qualification in PR application, there will be no need for credential evaluation.

Thanks @showyoung. I wasn’t banned from entering the US, I know the US and Canada shares information and this is why I was worried.
In this light, you have not been found wanting of any incriminating act. You should not pass judgment onto yourself.

People who have had 3 or more US visa denials in the past have got Canadian visa approvals. You just have to be pure.

Good day house. Thanks for all that you do. I have applied to the US embassy through an agent a few times and there were lots of wrong information he provided about me because he handled the application from start to finish. I was denied the US visa on these occasions. I then stumbled across this Canada thread and realized I can pursue this on my own and I have been following the thread since last year. The main problem is I dont know how to correct these misrepresentations, for example, he changed the name of my university to another one. With the Canada student application being more document oriented, what can I do?
Have you been banned from entering the US?

You shouldn't judge yourself if you have not been caught for misrepresentation.

No matter your situation, IRCC does not seek to judge you based on your past situation with another country so long you are not a terrorist or a risk to Canada. Just be crystal pure.

Just approach it with pure truth this time.

If you have been banned, state it in your application. If you have been refused visas a hundred times, state it truthfully.

Blessed New month to everyone of us here and congratulations to the new PPR holders.

I did my biometric in 2021 but I got a refusal, then I was not married BUT now I am married and want to reapply again for both myself and family( my wife and months old baby). My question now is can I use my old biometric for both myself and my wife, since I am the main applicant or my wife will have her own biometric taken ?

I understand biometric last for 10years.

Also can someone please assist me in applying for a two years diploma program in university of Regina, May 2024 intake. The interface with my mobile phone isn't helping to get what I want for the application.
Yes, your biometric is still valid if not up to ten years since the time you did it

Your wife needs to do biometric. Your child doesn't need to.

I think you are the one to apply for admission by yourself. This is a Do-It-Yourself (DIY) platform. If you are stuck on something, please ask questions here, your questions will be answered by people who may have passed through the same process in the past. You are encouraged to DIY. If the UI/UX is not good on mobile, you should try a computer.

Meanwhile, if you don't want to DIY, you should employ the service of a qualified professional to assist you-- this is seriously not encouraged. You should do it yourself.

For many colleges or universities, you do not need credential evaluation, but some do specifically request. Seneca College for example requires that you submit a credential evaluation for some programs.

Thanks. Now I understand but which of them is better
Both are good but MBS cuts down on processing time because there will be no need of sending your bank statement to bank for confirmation.

Please can someone kindly explain what is POF Traditional? And MBS .

And this Mybankstatment is it different from the normal bank account statement we can easily request from bank to print.

Happy new week*
"POF Traditional"-- I think this is referring to printed statement of account which you scan to make out an ecopy.

MBS-- MyBankStatement is a platform accessible by banks and authorized entities by a token to view account history of whom the token is generated for. If you request for this from your banker, you will be given a token. You will give this token to IRCC to access your account history.

Hi guys. Please is it compulsory i use MBS or the other traditional statement can also fly
It is not compulsory. If the conventional scanning of documents seems bulky, stamped eStatement is acceptable. eStatement is high quality and has low file size.

MBS has one great advantage over others-- no need to send for account statement confirmation. This will drastically cut down on processing time.

Hello, please I applied to Centennial college. I had B3 in all my results except English language. I had a C6 in my waec English grade. But I wrote a duolingo english test and had a score of 135. Is that good enough to scale my admission chances or is there any other college I could apply to for undergraduate programs that accept C6 in English
While all institutions of higher education have their admission requirements, many of them in Canada do not require English language proficiency test from Nigerians because English language is our official language or we have 2 or more years of secondary or post secondary education taught in English language.

You do not need the Duolingo Test except specifically told to do so and not exempted.

Warm Regards everyone

Please i will appreciate it if i get a response to this mail.

I have recently gathered all my documents for application to Seneca College in Toronto, Canada
A lot of persons have tried to discourage me that since it is a college, denial from the embassy is on a high side. However,I choose not to believe this.

I would also like to know if i should apply for a one year program or a two years program. Furthermore, What are my chances of getting a PR if i eventually opt in for a one year program while getting a one year PGWP?

Lastly, when is the appropriate time to apply for a January 2024 intake? Thanks

Yours Sincerely,
Danieldriz.
This is mythological.

Whether college, polytechnic or university, majority have the capability to award certificate, diploma, advance diploma, associate degree, bachelor's degree and post graduate certificates except master's degree and PhDs which are only awarded by universities.

It doesn't matter which one you go for.

You can go for either a one-year or more-year program.

For a one-year program, you can become a PR but with risk if only considering CEC.

To take care of this risk, you should target institutions in Atlantic Canada so as to become a PR through their easy PNP and AIP. If you choose to not target Atlantic Canada, you should be ready to either get at least TEER 3 job to get their PNP or do 1+1 course which will enable you get 2 - 3 year PGWP. These options are if CEC is no more possible due to your inability to get at least a TEER 3 job immediately after completing your 1 year program. I repeat, "it has to be immediate," else, CEC will not be possible. This is the exact risk which PNP and other programs apart from CEC will eliminate.

Some other provinces make their PNP easy for international students who study in the province e.g AINP, MPNP etc.

Now is a good time to apply for Winter (January) intake.

Hi everyone! I urgently need a police contact in Lagos for a police extract. Please, I need the contact number of anyone who can help me facilitate the process. I'm coming from PortHarcourt and want to see how I can do my medicals and police report on the same day or in 2 days.
If you are a Nigerian, and not applying for a PR or citizenship, it is not compulsory to submit police report/clearance certificate.

You probably want to apply for a study permit, if this is true, you don't need a police report/certificate to submit your application.

I thought there is error on the bolded only valid work permit holders,or with work permit application in progress on or before June 7 2023 are eligible to study in Canada..sowp holders can study full time till 27 June 2026 when the policy expires.however if your work permit expires before you finish your studies and you want to continue studying in canada. You apply for study permit...
Furthermore if you are a worker who is studying full-time, your work experience won't count towards canada experience class or express entry (CRS ,also from my own Point of view work experience may also not count towards PNP for PR in some province

Your full-time study will count towards Federal skill worker program and must study at DLI

https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/work-canada/permit/temporary/workers-study-without-study-permit.html

Automatic extension of 18 months sowp has expired since or after 28 june 2023 and only those with valid spouse open work permit which expires between August 1 and December 2023 and passport is valid for 18 months and in canada with mail address are eligible to opt in! Free of charge
Thank you for your input but let me quickly remind you that I never said SOWP holder cannot study full time. You bolden some words/phrases/sentences my post and added "SOWP holder can study full time"

I think you had the intention of correcting the 1 year limit that I put which is an unintentional error. SOWP holder can study full time and for as long as their SOWP is valid.

Also concerning the 18 month extension. You are correct. Kindly allow me to add that it doesn't mean that SOWP holder cannot still extend their work permit but it's just that it is not going to be free. Also, there is a probability that IRCC will still do the extension because they did in 2022, they might do in 2024 but it might take a different form.

Meanwhile, irrespective of the 18 month extension, work permit holders will still be able to extend their work permit but not free of charge.

SOWP is a work permit irrespective of the adjective used to qualify it and its primary purpose is to work full time: being able to study is a secondary purpose.

Very Urgent Please

Hello Bobomaigida,

Kindly assist as my one year old child visa was denied and the agent want to re-apply and insisting he want to package another Student permit him.
My wife is the main applicant which is going to study and four of us are dependants.
Here is the current status
Wife Adult- Student permit (Medical Request instructions approved)
Age 3- Student permit (Medical Request instructions approved)
Age 5- Student permit (Medical Request instructions approved)
Age 11 month -Student permit DENIED
My application (Husband) - He packaged visiting visa for me still waiting for Approval

My question is since the boy is still very small can I ask the agent to package visiting visa for him since he is accompany his mother not the student visa that was refused earlier.
The agent is mistaken.

Children (age 0 - 8 years) need visitor visa or study permit (age 3 and above) to accompany their parent.

Your 11 month old child should have gone for a visitor visa.

Children of study permit holder who hold visitor visa can study free of charge because Visitor Record will be issued to them at the port of entry which will enable them to study without applying for study permit.

For you, you should have applied for Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP). Visitor visa is not good for you because you will not be able to work or study. The purpose of SOWP is for the holder to work and, recently, study without study permit if the study is not more than 1 year.

In fact, when you enter Canada with SOWP, IRCC will send you an email that they want to add additional 18 months SOWP provided your passport will not expire in Feb. 2025. They want to give you till 2025 or more. This is a new and temporary measure to extend work permit free of charge.

3. Which pathway will u advise as most don't have construction management or civil as post graduate diploma.

4. Which cheap college can u advice
You may want to consider PGD/PGC/PBC in Project Management, Construction Project Management or Project Management-- Building/Construction.

For cheap schools, you can define what you term as "cheap."

Also with an opening balance of around 8 million naira, should I worry about inflow and outflow?
Thank you
While inflow and outflow count in some cases and can be useful devices to explain some points, they are not to be emphasized if your funds emanate from explainable source. Inflow and outflow will explain themselves when you are showing proof of your business and its transactions.

Just ensure the POF is enough and explain lump sums, if any, beyond reasonable doubt.

Good morning my people, how much proof of fund will I be needing for a family of 4, my tuition fees is about CAD18,000. I'll be traveling with my wife and two children aged 9 and 2.
Must I show tuition fees for the two years masters program or just for a year?
talk2priscal:
Tuition : 18,000
Your living expenses $20,000
Living Expenses for spouse $20,000 ($10,000/year).
Living Expenses for child $6,000 ($3,000/year)
Miscellaneous Expenses $3,000+ ( may be more but $5,000 is ok).
@talk2priscal
Kindly let me add to your input.

Tuition fee: $18,000 (if this is for a year, you should add the second year tuition fee)
Living expenses: $20,000 ( $10,000/yr for the applicant)
Living expenses: $8,000 ($4,000/yr for the spouse)
Living expenses: $12,000 ($3,000/yr/child)
Miscellaneous expenses: $5,000+ ($5,000 may not be enough because of the size of the family)
TOTAL: $63,000+ (you need to add second year tuition fee if applicable and it is safe to increase the miscellaneous expenses)

NOTES:
*If the applicant is already inside Canada and has a job, he does not need to show POF for dependants-- spouse and children.

* One year living expenses for dependants could be shown if the applicant can successfully convince the VO as to how future needs of the dependants would be provided for, but it is not safe.

* One year living expenses for the applicants could also be shown if the applicant can successfully convince the VO... but it is not safe.
